About

DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:

Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."

"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."

"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

  • Best band best venue

by JRD on 10/22/24Theatre of Living Arts - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

DBT is best band in the world. TLA is the best indoor venue in Philadelphia. Match made in heaven!

  • DBT ROCKS!!!!

by KBoogie on 10/21/24Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

The Drive By Truckers rocked the House of Blues in Beantown on Friday night. FANTASTIC SHOW!

  • Fun show but over crowded

by JO on 10/20/24Irving Plaza Powered By Verizon 5G - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Always good to see DBT but Irving Plaza was over sold. They close most of upstairs for reserved seating and downstairs is packed. Can’t see show from back as the floor doesn’t have enough elevation front to back. The folks at Irving Plaza have to manage that better

  • DBTs Rock out AGAIN

by Matthew on 10/20/24Irving Plaza Powered By Verizon 5G - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Great music Great message Good ‘ol rock n roll Patterson Hood, Mike Cooley and the boys rocked out for over 2.5 hours at Irving Plaza. A class act indeed!!

  • Southern Rock Opera!!

by CNYer DBT Fan on 10/20/24Irving Plaza Powered By Verizon 5G - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

The show itself was great. We have seen DBT numerous times and they never fail to disappoint. I was a little disappointed that the VIP experience didn't include a vantage point from the balcony. Apparently that space was reserved for VVIPs. Irving Plaza may have been one of the cleanest venues I have visited but the drink prices were outrageous, even by NYC standards. Keep rocking DBT!

  • Terrific Rawk Show-Thanks DBT!

by Seattle heathen on 7/8/24Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

SRO revisited was one of the best DBT shows I've seen (out of 10+ shows). Neptune is a great little venue and the guys were on fire. Enjoyed the VIP experience with the sound check. Although the show was mostly songs from Southern Rock Opera, Cooley did about half of his songs from other records.

  • All Good

by bb on 7/2/24The Fillmore - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

They look good and sound better. Keep on Rockin' in the Free World.

  • Fun time at a new venue for us.

by Che on 6/30/24The Belasco - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed the Drive By Truckers show at the Belasco theater in downtown LA. They performed their Southern Rock Opera album plus some other songs. Enjoyed the music and the enthusiastic crowd. Our first time to the Belasco which is an old movie theater with very interesting architecture and furnishings. The balcony is comfortable, has seat service and a nice bar.

  • Well, tThey sounded great and had fun. Excellent show

by Sassy Ceasar on 6/29/24The Magnolia - El CajonRating: 5 out of 5

Well worth price of admission. Most underrated band in the USA

  • Drive by truckers at Magnolia

Great band but the sound was off! It was hard to hear guitar solos and the vocals. Bummed

  • Bargain

by Concert geek on 6/26/24The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve said it before, if you’re not seeking out live music at all levels, you are missing out. With all the over priced events, it’s always nice to see this kind of talent for fair prices in smaller venues. Decent sized crowd but a little surprising it did not sell out.

  • It's a Southern Thang

by Women w/o Whiskey on 6/26/24The Van Buren - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5

So wonderful to hear the Southern Rock Opera in it's entirety. All my muscles are aching after the RaWk show, reminding me I am not the kid I was in 83. Only disappointment was the choice of Cooley -Non SRO songs. Those are some of my faves, but the recent choices played, don't quite measure up since 3 Dimes Down. But prefer any Stroker Ace, regardless the era.

  • Amazing band at a great venue

This was a great show. I had never been to this venue before but it was great also.

  • DBT never disappoints.

by Brian on 6/19/24Civic Theatre - New OrleansRating: 5 out of 5

The show was incredible! When the Truckers come to town, you can count on me being there! Purchased the VIP Experience this time round so, enjoyed early access to the venue for sound check, got a sweet commemorative patch & VIP laminate & autographed commemorative ticket & early access to the merch table. Worth every penny!

  • Oversold

by Big fan on 6/18/24Iron City - BirminghamRating: 3 out of 5

Band was great!! Venue was extremely oversold!! Couldn’t move in the crowd. Good thing the fire marshal didn’t show up!!

  • Not as advertised

by Disappointed on 6/17/24The Ritz - RaleighRating: 2 out of 5

I was really looking forward to seeing Drive By Truckers for the first time. I'm a big Jason Isbell fan and wanted to learn more than the 4-5 DBT songs I already knew. After 30 minutes of them playing I learned that they were only playing their debut album from 2004 from beginning to end. Nothing else. I didn't know, or like, any of those songs and left after an hour. Nowhere in the advertisement or when I was boooking said that they were only playing songs from one album. They just aren't a big enough band to not play any of their hits.

  • Can't Beat The Ritz

    by jpkc97 on 6/17/24The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Just can't beat The Ritz. Not a bad "seat"or location in the place. I went to Justin Timberlake the night before in PNC arena. Not bad, but cost 10x the price and not near as intimate.

  • Fantastic show. Awful venue and staff

by DBY on 6/16/24The Ritz - RaleighRating: 4 out of 5

The truckers were on their game and the show was fantastic. Too bad they have to play in a venue that sounds absolutely awful and has some of the rudest staff I have ever encountered.
