  • Big cost production

by Aunty Grinch on 12/24/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Thought this would be a great holiday gift for my niece and nephew. I love to gift experiences so we can share them together. I knew this would be pushing my budget, but felt it would be worth it. We sat in our seats in the upper balcony as the lights dimmed and the show began. The problem was people continued to take their seats for the next 20 minutes blocking the view and deafening the music. There was also a woman with a crying baby behind us who did not take her child our to the lobby for at least 10 minutes. Where were the ushers? After it finally quieted, we were able to hear the show. The audio up in the nosebleed section was not great, but the actors were enthusiastic and jubilant. In all it was a cute production (not a top 10). I just wish they managed it better to allow those that spent a great summer of money the opportunity to enjoy the entire production.

  • Xmas fun!

by MelM on 12/23/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The Grinch was a great holiday activity. The star of the show was very talented and enjoyable to watch. Cindy Lou was impressive also, I wouldn’t be surprised if she turns out to be the next Taylor Swift! Some of the ballads were too long and boring but all in all, it was fun.

  • Fun, Family night

by Holiday Cheer on 12/23/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

It was sweet and funny. Story was not as long as the last time we saw the Grinch. It was snowing out so it added extra ambiance as we walked to the Wang after having a great dinner prior at Maggianos. The dog in the grinch did not look like max They cut allot of parts out of the Grinch to shorten the musical, took away some of the story line which was ok. Our kids are young adults was nice to have family night in the snow!!!!

  • Great Christmas fun for the whole family

The musical had heart, humor and stuck to the classic story but had that extra sparkle!

  • At Least it’s Only 1.5 Hrs

by PoohBear on 12/21/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Who would have thought you could make The Grinch boring? Music is all forgettable, save for the theme and the Who song. Did get better as it went along, but had nowhere to go but up. Cindy Loo Who and Grinch were good; costumes good, too. Was expecting much more

  • GREAT!

The show was fantastic BUT the seating leaves you with no leg room. It was extremely uncomfortable!!

  • Great performance. So so venue

by Jeff on 12/18/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

A very good presentation of a Christmas classic. Really well done at least the parts we could hear. The only seats we could get or afford were in the back of the balcony which is the pits. Its an old and outdated theatre with mediocre acoustics . May granddaughter enjoyed it and we would go again if we could get much better seats.

  • Eeehhh.. not the most entertaining show

by Jamie on 12/18/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Although there were about 100 kids in the audience…. They clearly lost interest one by one due to the lack of action. The narrator was difficult to understand (even for adults, I doubt the kids had any idea what he was saying) and there just weren’t enough characters! Or action! The kids got excited towards the end when there was snow released into the audience, and when Mr. Grinch asked them for help reciting some lines, but other than that I wonder why this show was geared towards children. Knowing the crowd is made up of half children, it should really be considerate to children’s attention spans. Will Not be back.

  • Disappointing

by Grinch Lover on 12/18/24Rating: 2 out of 5

I LOVE the Grinch and was very excited to go. Ten min in and I was bored. The extra Whoville songs were unnecessary. A few scenes were backwards. Some of the costumes were ok. Young Max looked more like Cat in the Hat as he was black, white and red. The Grinch looked like an electrocuted Oscar the Grouch with a lime green face. You couldn’t hear the actors, especially Cindy Lou and young Max and we were seated on the first floor. The older Max was great and sang the title song with precision. The only highlight of the show. Made longer than necessary and not enough attention to the original storyline.

  • Not what as good as I had expected

by David D on 12/18/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

I felt the musical was not as good as I had hoped. I took my 2 grandchildren, 12 and 15 years old, and they thought it was boring. Maybe better for younger children. Many parts of the story were sung. Hard to hear some of the actors talk. No “wow”’ parts to the show. I just feel it was okay but not worth the high price of tickets.

  • Max

by Family of 5 on 12/17/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The show was good the Grinch and Whoville costumes were great. Max is an adorable all brown small dog. The character in your show looked more like a skunk. It really threw things off. Def would have given 5 stars but that was so disappointing.

  • The show was wonderful for both adults and kids alike

by DC on 12/17/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Took my granddaughter to the show for her birthday thinking she would really enjoy it, and she did. So did I... much entertainment for both adults and children. The actors were wonderful.

  • Disappointing Start

by TT on 12/17/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Show started at 11 on the dot. Which is great. Unless you’re sitting anywhere near a walkway/entrance/exit. We missing the first 20 minutes because of all the late people coming to the show. It’s was extremely disappointing my son wanted to leave after 15 minutes of constant disruption. The doors should be locked at 11:05

This was such a great experience for my extended family including two three year old grandsons!! They were mesmerized from the opening to the very last song at the close. They loved the snow and confetti too!! The actors were great especially Grinch, Max, and Cindy Lou!! Great show!!

  • Grinch Fan from Western MA

by Dan T on 12/17/24Boch Center Wang Theatre - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall the play was good. I think the kids enjoyed it. My only real negative is Max the Dog. I and other adults commented on the costume did not look very much like a dog. I think the front of the costume should be made to look more a dog. It might have been the coloring because one adult commented he thought Max looked like a skunk. The Grinch and Cindy Who where good and enjoyable.
