DR SEUSS’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway sensation which features the hit songs “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas” from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss’ original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, as this sparkling production breathes new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. Don’t miss what The New York Times calls “AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story.”
Great acting...marvelous costumes and sets...we loved it.
The show was very slow and seemed to drag on at times. My wife and I both fell asleep. The acting was good and the cast is great but the show needs a little more to it. I dont really know what it was but no one in my family could get into it.I took my two kids and the lost interest 15 minutes into the show. The songs were ok and the story line is familiar but the show never really came to life.
Wonderful for children of all ages. Must be familiar with the story otherwise, it may all seem very strange. Because my children and I watched the movie several times and read the book we really enjoyed it. My children are 7 and 9 years of age. Otherwise, they might not have enjoyed it as much as they did. The production was just long enough for young children to sit through. I was just disappointed that one of the songs that Cindy sings in the movie wasn't in the play. I think the song is called "Where are you Christmas?"
I took my two daughters 4 and 7 years old. This was my 4 year olds first show and she did very well. They enjoyed the show and came out of the theater singing the songs and wanted to see it again. My 7 year old understood the message of the story which was nice. I would recommend this for any family!!!!!
I'm not sure why...but whatever his choices were...he held back the production..Much of the rest is good...not great. Best job was the 10 year old Cyndy Lou Who who stole the show....but that was not hard to do. Boo Hoo to the Whos who paid dearly to see this live...Kids will like it.
Unfortunately, not too entertaining to me or my 5-year old son. He wanted to leave early. The show really didn't hold our interest. The TV special is waaaaaaayyyyyyy better.
The Grinch was magnificent! And, so was the little girl! Our little girls loved it! A must see for everyone!
it was a great show... short and sweet! my friend and enjoyed it.
My mother doesn't speak a lot of English so I wanted to take her to something pictorial enough so she get the jist of they play. I explained the story to her before hand so she would have an idea. It's about an hour and a half with no intermission...there were about 60-70% kids, so the time was long enough to convey the story but not so long that the kids couldn't stand it. The costumes were just like the book all performed like a living cartoon. Adults and children would enjoy it. Well done.
I thought the play was exceptional! I was surprised who well they were able to tell the story. I was very entertained throughout! The Grinch was awesome! Great facial expressions. And Cindy Lu could sing something amazing!
Very happy and well done production. Short, less then 90 minutes.
Fun, colorful, great special effects. Sing-a-long was clever and great way of interacting with audience. The cast was wonderful, especially the main character of the little girl. I didn't know John Larroquette could sing; he was great. The actor who was the Grinch was perfect -- the voice and mannerisms.
The play was more for kids than adults but still was very good.
The play was fabulous. Extremely well acted and really fun and uplifting. Music was great, cast was great.
It truly was an amazing production all around. The actors, dancers, singers, the set , the music, costumes...everything was fantastic! It was my 8-year old daughter's first Broadway type play, so she thoroughly enjoyed it and came home singing all the songs. Best of all, we got upgraded to Row 13, center seats. Can't get any better than that. So it's worth picking dates that may not be as busy and matinees. We went to the 11 a.m show so I'm sure that had something to do with it.
The set was perfect as was the lighting and musical score. The dance numbers were very entertaining as well.
It was an amazing show!! The actors were great and the show itself had so much energy.
I really like John Larroquette as Max and my son who is 13 enjoyed the play. It's a great family outting in a fantastic theater
This show is great for younger kids. It isn't too long (but there is no intermission). There are funny moments, lots of singing, (of course), and the sets are vibrant and beautiful. My 5 year old loved it. My 4 year old liked it too but got a little antsy. It was a lot of fun.
I'll keep this brief; ixnay on the Inchgray. This is an actual rip off. Low budget, low standards, low energy... high prices! The lead was animated enough, but his presence never crossed the third row. It was for the best that the audience response was tepid lest it might have woken John LeRoquette from what appeared to be REM sleep. Cindy Lou Who sang a pretty solo that would have, had they been watching the previews, helped the producers crack the code on how to entertain this kind of audience.
