About

DR SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! THE MUSICAL is the record-setting Broadway sensation which features the hit songs "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Welcome Christmas" from the original animated television special. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is "two sizes too small," decides to steal Christmas away from the Holiday loving Whos. Magnificent sets and costumes inspired by Dr. Seuss' original illustrations help transport audiences to the whimsical world of Whoville, as this sparkling production breathes new life into this timeless story of the true meaning of Christmas. Don't miss what The New York Times calls "AN EXTRAORDINARY PERFORMANCE! 100 times better than any bedtime story."

  • Wonderful choice for the Holidays

    by Bingman50 on 12/9/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The performance of Grinch was tremendous. The young kids as well as us older ones totally enjoy the costuming, songs, theatrics and the 2 Maxs. Young one was a particular standout. The snow and ending streamers were such a nice surprise. Only suggestion would be to cut it just a bit shorter...a couple spots could be trimmed. SO VERY happy to have seen it. Grinch was wonderful as well as the cast and the pit!!

Great performance of the grinch , wish people I would sit and watch and not be walking all over the place and standing up so you can’t see most of it

Too many people Let, and after performance starts… Too much of a distraction, and then the ushers get the flashlights out and you can’t see in your blocked

  • screaming baby behind us

by Kelsey on 12/8/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

Unfortunately, a screaming toddler sat behind us for nearly the duration of the show. The usher stood right next to us, and despite the obvious frustration of every paying costumer, never asked the parents with the screaming child to leave. We couldn’t hear for more than half of the show.

  • Phenomenal

by Lees mom on 12/8/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The show was very entertaining. The actors did a wonderful job. Perfect actors played the Grinch & Max and Cindy Lou is definitely a star!!!

  • Amazing Musical - Tight Seating!

by Joelsday on 12/7/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

I thought the musical was fantastic, however being scrunched in the seats was not.

  • The Grinch and Two Max's...OMG

by Rockette on 12/7/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The actors who played The Grinch and both Max's were amazing. Loved that the older Max was telling the story but also involved with the story.

  • Fun night at the Palace.

by Bobcat on 12/7/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Great family night at the Palace. Parking was easy and close to the theatre. Atmosphere full of expectations. Plenty of families attending with children of all ages. Good family entertainment! Show was fast moving which kept the young ones attention. And the Grinch was definitely the star! All ages will enjoy! Go see it you will not be disappointed !

  • Not enjoyable

by TT on 12/7/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 1 out of 5

For the amount of money they charge the performance and scenery were not entertaining. The scenery is subpar I believe I could have gotten the same if not better at a high school production. We left about halfway through due to the production and the lack of courtesy from other patrons. There should be some decorum in theater guests. I had someone wearing a hoodie in front of me which completely limited my viewing. I feel that should have been addressed by The Palace staff without me having to have any type of interaction or with out the frustration I felt. Just a horrible and very expensive experience for four people that should have been a fun night to kick off the holiday season.

  • Awesome, fun

by Julie on 12/6/24West Herr Auditorium Theatre at West Herr Performing Arts Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Me and my grandkids just loved it. We laughed and enjoyed the holidays spirit.

  • The Grinch was funny

by Ho ho ho on 12/6/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

The set was beautiful. The lighting was great. The Grinch character was so funny. But the music was kind of annoying and I didn't enjoy it at all. And because it's a musical that's why I gave it three stars. There was only like one or two good songs in the entire performance. And the supporting cast was just like there but you really just wanted to see the Grinch because he was so good

  • A great, fun live show about Mr. Grinch!

by Sue L. on 12/6/24West Herr Auditorium Theatre at West Herr Performing Arts Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Really fun, and entertaining production - excellent actors who also are great singers; a fun show for kids as well; everyone seemed to enjoy the music and the storyline!

  • Don’t waste your money

by Grinchy Grinch on 12/6/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 2 out of 5

We thought that they tried so hard to be funny, that it took away from the real story. The attempt to be cheeky constantly made it less funny. Maybe I’d pay $25 to see it again but never over $100 a person. All 4 of us were really disappointed.

  • Not worth $323

by Debb on 12/6/24Palace Theatre Columbus - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

The performers were great, the main characters were awesome... I was disappointed with the story line--just didn't seem worth $161 per person...

  • Waste of money

by Sm on 12/5/24Rating: 1 out of 5

Would not see again or recommend to others. This was not entertaining. The sound was terrible and you couldn’t hear the actors. The show was underwhelming and hard to stay engaged.

  • Great Musical!

by Jen on 12/5/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

The Musical itself was Fantastic!!! I did think it needed to be a little louder, as at times (probably due to audience) it was a little difficult to hear. We loved it! We went to Elf as well & thought Grinch was much better (which saddened us, as we love the movie) What I didn’t enjoy was how people are these days at events like these. I understand kids there, but when my 6yo nephew that we took complains about the younger child in front of us that was standing & moving around the entire time-not cool. The constant rustling of popcorn bags is highly annoying as well! Musical alone thought it was great & would definitely recommend & see again! Always nice to enjoy the FOX Theatre!

  • Great show!

by Roy on 12/4/24Fox Theatre Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Took my daughter, and we both enjoyed the show. From the beginning to end, the effects ,lights, the cast and crew did a great job! Will definitely be in attendance when it returns.
