About

Doug Benson (“Last Comic Standing,” "Super High Me") has been on an album-a-year schedule since 2008 (his most recent release being "Gateway Doug 2: Forced Fun"), plus he has two popular weekly podcasts (“Doug Loves Movies” and "Getting Doug With High"), does the occasional film (“The Greatest Movie Ever Rolled”) and makes regular appearances on “@midnight” on Comedy Central. Such a busy schedule for High Times’ 2009 Stoner of the Year.

It was not what I expected.

by singletrakk on 4/23/12Wow Hall - Eugene

He's funny, on TV and Pandora. In person? He does at least half of his bit off his cell phone. I mean come on. The guy before him was funny, kinda weird, but at least he had an actual set instead of, "Hey let's see who tweeted me before the show dur-dur-dur" So if you like Benson, stick to the podcasts and movies. He sucked in person. There is a thing as being too stoned and just looking like a loser. I would never pay to see him again.

    The show was great.

Show was great, guests were awesome, overall great time. The venue was alright, the waitresses only came around for drinks once however.

doug & guests are consistently hilarious

by djns on 12/6/11The Louie Anderson Theater at Palace Station Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas

Seeing Doug Benson live for the third time made me wonder if I'd see some repeat material, but Doug is constantly reworking his jokes, writing new material, and works HIS audience better than any comedian working today. I was laughing the whole time thru both of his openers til the Leonard Maltin game. Doug is also super friendly, really appreciates his fans and shows it, and was a pleasure to meet and chat up after the show.

started a bit late...but I think we can expect that! I suggest grabbing a few drinks preshow. the waitresses move slow inside the theater. Doug and his friends were all very funny! I'm hoping he makes the show a monthly affair!

    Doug Benson is a amazing

by BCinSF on 9/11/11Sioux Falls Orpheum Theater - Sioux Falls

One of the best stand up shows I've ever seen. Doug came out BEFORE the openers and warmed up the crowd. I've never seen a headliner do that. Very funny stuff. Then he brought out a local comic, and someone from his podcast. I forget both of their names. Which is unfortunately since they were both hilarious. Then Doug came out, did a long set of some of his best material and some new stuff as well. Also some jokes tailored for the locals. He ended the show with a game of movie trivia with an audience member. Great stuff!

    Very disappointed

    by AV0325 on 8/9/11Wilbur Theater - Boston

I was excited to see Doug Benson this past weekend and bought the tickets for my sister's bday, however we left the show completely disappointed and baffled as to how he can charge for that. He opened by reading his twitter feed for entirely too long, told a couple of jokes, played a stupid time-filler game with his opening act, told one last joke, and left. He was on for less than an hour--less than the opening act. He was just way too high to care that people were actually paying to see him perform his comedy.

    Great Show

by ksmjackie on 8/8/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I liked the show. I liked his CD but I wish he did more bits from it. His opening act--I cannot remember his name---they do a podcast together, was good but I thought together they dominated the show when I would rather see Doug Benson alone. I bet it's better if you have kept up with Doug Benson recently but I have not so it was not as exciting for me. Still a good show.

The show was awesome! I'm so glad I got to see Doug Benson live. It was a nice bonus to see Graham Ellwood as well. I loved the meet and greet after the show. Thank you Wilbur Theatre for allowing them to do that.

    Great time!

by MorganElektra on 8/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

This was our first time seeing Doug live, and we had a great time. Graham Elwood was his opener, and was amazing as well. They both hung around after the show to chat, and were amazingly sweet. Can't wait to see them again! As always, the staff at the Wilbur were courteous and helpful, as well.

There should have been more Doug

    by Stacymac7 on 8/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Doug Benson - a hilarious and clever comedien - was in Boston this past Friday. We were very much looking forward to seeing him. However, he came out, set up for his opening act and that act preceeded to spend more time on stage then Doug ever did that night. While I think Doug is charitable, humble and an overall good guy for helping out other acts, we paid to see him. When he was on stage, he read from his Twitter feed and then had the opening act back to play a movie trivia game. Disappointed to not have more Doug Benson.

    Great Show!

    by blindeskimo23 on 8/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I thought the show was hilarious. I would have liked to hear Doug Benson perform longer than Graham Elwood did but it was a funny show nonetheless. I also would have liked the show to be longer (the actual comedy part was not even an hour long). Aside from those two things that could be improved, I had a great time.

    Laughs a Plenty

by ExtraSpecialBitter on 8/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Both Doug Benson and his opening act, Graham Elwood were extremely funny. The comedy was very "adult," but non-stop. We were thrilled that he included a brief rendition of the Leonard Maltin game.

Benson does a great live show

by Monken on 8/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Doug gave a hilarious show, as good as his podcasts. Material felt fresh and natural. Opener, Graham, was also quite funny.
