    The Lion King was extraordinary

by chopper342 on 3/21/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

This stage play is a must see for all. Children should be old enough to sit through an hour's worth of entertainment (Twice). The costumes, and stage effects were extremely enjoyable, and often had me thinking about how clever that piece was. The actors entering and exiting through the audience, and parts of the play in the audience were a good touch. The only problem I had was with the audio level as it seemed low at times where I did not hear all the lines although it was obvious other members of the audience did. This was my first time to the Mahalia Jackson Center, and I know I will return for other entertainment events.

    Bad sound

by BeverlyMeMe on 3/21/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

I thought the vocals were too low. Or the audio wasn't right. My date wears hearing aids and didn't hear anything. We were in section 4 so I thought we were away from the orchestra and still close enough to see everything.

Was an excellent show! Was far more entertaining then I was expecting. I bought the tickets for my wife, but I ended up enjoying the show as much as she did.

The Lion King Was Truly the King of Plays!!!

by rcarriles on 3/21/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

This was by far one of the best plays I have seen in my life! We have been to Broadway and have seen Beauty and the Beast, which until now I thought was the best play ever. Well The Lion King roared past Beauty and the Beast with the amazing costumes and the exquisite way the actors manuvered around in them. This was by far the most amazing play I have ever had the pleasure of attending and we have been to many of the Broadway Across America plays. Thank you!

    The Lion King was GREAT!!!

by FrenchQuarterRoller on 3/21/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans

The show was amazing. We enjoyed every minute of every performer. However I would suggest if you're planning to bring a child under 7 or 8 DON'T!!! The night I went there were a few small children that just couldn't be controlled, crying & restless, during the 2nd act. It was annoying to the audience & even more embarrassing for the parents. One child in our group caused his mother to miss several scenes because he was so restless she had to bring him to the hallway a few times during the performance. So parents although the show is GREAT for almost everyone, IT ISN'T for very young children with short attention spans. Spare yourself & others leave them at the sitters & bring them home a T-shirt, a stuffed animal, a beautiful book, a coloring book or one of the many gift items from the show!!
