by AmazingNola on 3/18/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansThe entire family was mesmerized by the amazing performance. We were blessed to see the Las Vegas presentation October 2011. Because of the smaller theatre, the experience was up close and personal. We loved every minute.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 3/17/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans This was my second time seeing The Lion King. It was great! The cast and costumes were outstanding. Seeing it in New Orleans was just as good as when I saw it in New York. I would recommend it to adults as well as children.
Rating: 5 out of 5 FABULOUS!
by BroadwayFan2012 on 3/17/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansParking was fine. Facility was decent. Show was unreal. This was unlike any other musical theatre I have ever experienced. The best so far! Worth EVERY PENNY! Only downside...Row A is not really the first row. They have inserted AA and BB before Row A. Seats were comfortable enough though. NOTE: Box seats are slightly smaller.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 3/17/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans Show was great. I would sit in the balcony next time because I could see the details of everything

by DaBanjoMan on 3/17/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansSpectacular !!!!! My wife and I are SAG actors with many years of film & stage experience. We were blown away by this production. I can't think of enough positive adjectives to describe "The Lion King".
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 3/17/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New Orleans This production was fabulous. The engineering alone to portray the animals was outstanding. The story was such a great one for the whole family, but just as great for the adult. I would encourage everyone to see this show.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Loved the pagentry
by Makeda42 on 3/16/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansWithin five minutes of the show starting, the woman sitting behind me was saying that she needed to come back. I agreed, the show is innovative and the ability of the actors blows one away immediately. I saw the original cartoon/movie ages ago, so many of the songs were new to me again. The ability of the actors to perform as both actors and puppeteers was amazing. The leads were charming--both children and adults.. Only problem: I was far off to the side and it was occasionally difficult to tell what the actors were saying. I don't know if the sound is directed toward the center or if this was opening night problems. On the other hand, it was wonderful being so close to the stage
Rating: 4 out of 5 Lion King good entertainment
by GaryLee2 on 3/16/12Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts - New OrleansFor the most part Lion King was enjoyable. Costumes, characters and colors were great. Smaller stage did not support the large number of animals in the big scenes. African music was splendid, but not enough deeper bass voices. Sound did not carry to the back very well.
Rating: 5 out of 5 loved it!
