Amazing! Breath Taking! A must see! The costumes and puppetry were outstanding. And when the characters came down the isle, my mouth was wide open. Would see it again and again!

by Patrice Jones on 10/12/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Lion King was amazing and different. The singing was beautiful; the music captivated me and story just reminded me when I was young again amazing Job well done. My 7-year-old daughter was excited she thought It's nothing like it. I would definitely see again

  • Play amazing, open doors during performance awful

    by Mom M on 10/11/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The play was great, but the amount of people coming in and out of the theater DURING the performance was ridiculous. What happened to the days where doors locked until intermission? It’s very distracting to have people standing up in front of you one dozen times per half to leave then return to their seats. For the tickets prices we paid, there should be no movement allowed by audience members.

  • Beyond Expectations

by Barbie on 10/11/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I was not sure what to expect when we went to the theater to see The Lion King. I found the cast to be very innovative and entertaining. The music scores were perfect and beautifully executed! Coming from the movie, the cast did an excellent job of capturing the true meaning behind the movie. I loved the entire experience and would recommend all this production for all ages.

  • It was....okay.

    by mollyshannon4 on 10/7/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The Lion King is a truly spectacular musical that I've seen before.....that's how I know the Chicago performance was just okay. I really wanted to love it!! The Cadillac Palace was too small of a stage for this production, though, and they cut some of the music which I really don't like. It could be that we saw this on the second or third night of the run, and the kinks just weren't all worked out yet. I'm just a little disappointed that it wasn't as good as I remember. The actor who played Scar was spectacular as were Timon and Pumbaa.

  • The Lion King -Phenomenal Broadway Show

    by Angie B. on 10/7/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve waited the right time to see The Lion King in Chicago. The cast members did a phenomenal job and I absolutely loved, loved, loved their performance. I plan to see it again, hopefully next time with friends and family. Thank you for a great performance until we meet again!!!

  • This is community theatre, not Broadway.

by Erika on 10/6/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

The costuming/sets are beautiful, but the quality of the show has clearly gone down in the last 30 years. This is not Broadway level nor is it worth the high cost of a ticket. The songs drag. The energy is low. The acting/singing/dancing is the level of community theatre. It’s not bad, but not Broadway level. If your child loves the lion king and you can afford the ticket, sure take them. But as an adult who loves Broadway musical theatre, this one falls flat.

  • Great show

by Shirley on 10/6/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the music, actors and costumes. Great acting

  • Above and beyond

by Show Poppy on 10/6/25Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Almost surreal! My granddaughter played Rafiki in a junior production, so as a reward we bought tickets for the tour production. After hearing nothing but great things about the show, we were still unprepared for it. From the opening beat to the curtain call, we were totally mesmerized! So much to take in from the costumes, puppetry, choreography, songs, and lines; I felt as if was taken into the musical and part of it!

  • Great Performance

by AndiD on 8/10/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The family thoroughly enjoyed the play, music and performance were excellent!

  • The greatest show to grace a stage

by Beetlejuice on 5/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The lion king is my favorite Broadway show by far seen it twice now, and will be seeing it whenever possible it is that incredible. The actors were amazing, the costumes were extremely detailed, the music the puppetry all of it was everything you could ask for in a beautiful show!!

  • Great show and Great seats

by Bobby Baby on 1/28/23Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The show was well done and the seats, front row of the balcony were great. We unfortunately had our daughter and grandson cancel at the last minute due to illness. We gave the tickets back to the box-office (and someone came after rebuying them to sit next to us) but the credit for the ticket cost never showed up. I checked Ticketmaster and they show us having only two tickets AFTER the show. So I'm sure it got into their system too. Puts a cloud on the event.
