  • A fun night!

by Allison on 4/1/25Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 5 out of 5

We had no idea what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. The dancing and singing that the audience was encouraged to participate in was so much fun! Watching the movie again on the big screen, with the songs being played and sung live was fantastic.

  • Did not meet my expectations

    by State4ever on 4/1/25Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 2 out of 5

Spent $80/seat to watch Dirty Dancing for the 50th time with three singers sitting on stools with a band behind them. No interaction with the crowd as the reviews i read and photos I seen. Then, the movie was over, and then, the interaction started and was more fun for the last 20 minutes of the 2.5 hours we were there. They really needed to interact more with the crowd at different times during the movie. Also, the line for the women's restroom was unacceptable. There was no way everyone was going to get their business done in the 20 minutes we had at intermission. Myself and eight other gals ended up using the men's restroom!

  • Amazing show !

by Mel on 4/1/25Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 5 out of 5

First time I had been to a movie co concert. Had a great time, enjoyed the show. Definitely will go again !!

  • Expensive Movie

by Penny on 4/1/25Stephens Auditorium - AmesRating: 2 out of 5

This was like watching the movie at $80 a ticket, just with the music live. Sometimes too loud where you couldn't hear the movie. I expected more of a show along with the movie, not just singing the songs. Had they done some dancing during or something that might have been more worth it.

  • Large Movie Screen

by Read Event Info Thoroughly on 3/31/25Rating: 1 out of 5

I did not read the fine print!! Large Movie Screen and live band with some singers lip-synching (mouth not moving with the songs. I did not dress to go to the movies; I dress to go see some type of live event that I could not get at home. Music was great but I have great speakers and 90 in TV at home!!!

  • Unexpected

by I carried a watermelon on 3/30/25Five Flags Center - DubuqueRating: 4 out of 5

This show was definitely not what we expected. I have been to dirty dancing the musical in Chicago in past : my group had an amazing time at this show. But missed the entertainment through out the show. The signers were out of this world. But could have added theatrics to the show. More dancing and acting out scenes.

  • Fun

by Shari on 3/30/25Five Flags Center - DubuqueRating: 4 out of 5

Wasn't quite what I was expecting but had fun anyway!!

  • Amazing!

by Amy on 3/28/25Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely incredible! It exceeded our expectations with the live music and singers!

  • Perfect evening

by A really smart guy on 3/24/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show, start to finish. Well worth the money, band was fantastic. I’m not even a fan of the movie and enjoyed every minute.

  • So much FUN!

by CD on 3/24/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 5 out of 5

It was fantastic!!!! Sold out performance, I even tried to get tickets the next night in another city in NJ. It was also sold out.

  • Awful

by Disappointed on 3/24/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 1 out of 5

This was such a misrepresentation of a concert. They basically played a movie on the big screen while the orchestra and singers sat in their chairs most of the time. My friends and I spent $500 on tickets for a show that was equivalent to a high school production. This was no concert!!!!

  • Not so great

by Bill on 3/24/25Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 1 out of 5

This is not what I expected. The singers should not have blocked the screen and the audience were like high school kids.

  • Garage Band Dirty Dancing

by Jver on 3/22/25Rating: 3 out of 5

Very disappointed with this. The band was clearly exhausted and just not happy to be there. They should of just played the movie nobody wants to hear someone else sing bad, and yes it was terrible they had no pitch. Some songs should be loud and full of life this is Dirty Dancing!! I was expecting also dancers to come out like on the website but nope it was literally a garage band singing. So please don’t be fooled by the website. The movie deserves better

  • Fun but not what I expected.

by DMMEDNICK on 3/22/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 4 out of 5

It's fun and the music is good. It's not what I expected. It's like a drive-in movie with a band.

  • Dirty Dancing Did Me Dirty

    by Silvia C. on 3/22/25Rating: 1 out of 5

Please read the show details! This is just a screening of the movie with a band singing along. Not at all what I expected. My fault for not reading prior reviews. I paid $150 dollars for an orchestra seat to watch the movie on screen with a band singing along, who didn't match the caliber of the movie's awesome soundtrack. Big disappointment.

  • Fun time!

by Kris on 3/20/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 4 out of 5

Not what I thought it was going to be. I bought my mom and I tickets to what I thought to see dancers live dancing the movie Dirty Dancing. I didn't realize that it was watching the movie with a live Orchestra. Needless to say we had a great time!

  • Not what was expected

by Baby on 3/20/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 2 out of 5

I guess I did not read it thoroughly when I bought tickets because I thought I was seeing a musical and was disappointed that it was a movie with a band. I wouldn't have bought tickets, had I known.

  • Enjoyable

by BonBon on 3/20/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed watching the movie and the live concert playing along with the movie. That was my first time going to a show like this and I thought it was great. Definitely would do something like this again.

  • Excellent!

by Bflo716 on 3/19/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 5 out of 5

The show at Sheas Buffalo Theater was such a great time! The performers were amazing as well. The singers were energetic and sounded wonderful. The band was outstanding, with an excellent drummer, the bass player rocked, the keyboard player and, the guitarist were equally impressive, but the saxophone player was just ridiculous! That guy blew us away! I think they said he was from here, which is pretty cool too! This was a fun evening with wonderful entertainers. I hope this comes around again!

  • Just a movie

by Jen on 3/19/25Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 3 out of 5

We expected this to be an actual show. Instead it was the movie played on a screen with live music. I would not recommend this show due to this fact. The music was good but I didn't pay to watch a glorified movie.
