  • A bit disappointing…

    by Susan B on 11/8/23Abbotsford Centre - AbbotsfordRating: 3 out of 5

I guess I need to pay better attention to detail but I was expecting a live performance vs watching the movie on a big screen! On a positive note, the band and vocalists were very good and I thoroughly enjoyed the sing/song afterwards. I think a lot of people left right afterwords and missed the best part.

  • The most expensive movie I’ve ever seen

by Donger on 11/8/23Abbotsford Centre - AbbotsfordRating: 1 out of 5

I thought it was the play, or musical. So I could justify shelling out a few hundred bucks. But watching the movie, on a screen, with occasional singing or instruments being played-while fun- not anywhere close to being worth it

  • Was not what I expected

by LeonamC on 11/8/23Abbotsford Centre - AbbotsfordRating: 2 out of 5

I love the Dirty Dancing movie, but was not super impressed to pay the money for the concert to basically watch it on a big screen. Expected more dancing, etc from the cast. They had great voices and music but just not what I thought it would be.

  • A very enjoyable evening

The sound was great, the singers and band were awesome. Parking was easy and affordable.

Best show I’ve seen in years. Very very talented performers and timing to movie was absolutely perfect. Dance party afterwards was so much fun!!!!

  • Not a musical, but still enjoyable

by Jaks on 11/6/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 3 out of 5

We had a great time rewatching the movie in a theatre experience and listening to the music live, but our group was surprised that this was the format. Most the guests I spoke with thought the same - that the performance would be a musical, with some live acting. There is no live acting, and for the most part it was just watching the movie with a theatre full of people. The band and singers did an excellent job singing over the movie at the appropriate times there is music in the movie, but was disappointed that it was not clearer when we bought the tickets what the performance would be like.

  • Not what expected

Note to self read what the show is about before you purchase tickets spent a lot of money just to watch a movie on the big screen.

  • Disappointed

by AL on 11/6/23Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - CalgaryRating: 1 out of 5

I was excited to be apart of this classic event. However, after researching on this event, I could not find any details as to what the performance entailed. To our surprise, we just over paid to watch this movie just like we could have at home. There was a band that would sing the songs but thats it. We were under the impression there would be singing and dancing of some sort, some interaction with the guests. I dont think I'd go again.

$318 USD for 2 upper level seats to watch a movie?? The singers were GREAT thankfully.

  • Dirty dancing

by Angel on 11/1/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 1 out of 5

If I knew it wasn’t a skit performance and only on a scene . I’d watched it from home saved my money . Disappointed. Not my idea of an awesome night out . Wasn’t worth the amount . Cheer

  • Not my Favourite.

by Kayla on 11/1/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 2 out of 5

The best way I can explain my experience is, that it felt like the most expensive movie theatre I’ve been too. Although the performers were great, it was the experience itself. We ended up leaving before the show actually ended because we felt we could go home and watch the movie for the same feeling but a fraction of the cost. In my opinion, do not waste the $80/ticket for a movie played on a tiny screen - so not worth it!

  • dirty dancing

by Bev on 11/1/23Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Not what we were expecting (more like a stage west performance) but very pleasantly surprised at getting to watch the movie again with the live band playing the soundtrack were absolutely amazing, talented and beautiful singers. Loved the dance party and music and songs at the end …a very nice way to close out this spectacular night. My daughter and I loved it and would recommend it to everyone. Thanks

  • This was boring.

by ReneeAS on 10/30/23DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 2 out of 5

I was extremely disappointed in this event. For the amount we paid for my daughter and I to see this… so not worth it. I would have rather watched the movie in my pajamas in my living room. Literally 3 people sit on bar stools for the majority of the show, occasionally getting up to sing. There were so many opportunities in the movie to create a fun, entertaining experience on stage… yet they just sat there. What a let down. We left at intermission because getting an earlier start on our hour drive home seemed like a better option than sitting through the rest of this boring show. Don’t waste your time or money.

  • Terrible

by BHard247 on 10/29/23DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 2 out of 5

I wish the movie sound would be off while they were playing music. I'd rather have an actual musical then watch the movie on a big screen. The people behind us were obnoxious and made it hard to hear anything.

  • Best way to watch a classic

by Pamcronk on 10/29/23DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I invited 3 of my friends to join me. Dirty Dancing is one of my favorite movies. I’ve never seen it on the big screen before. I’ve watched it more than a dozen times. This was the best way to watch it. We were encouraged to sing along. I loved that! It was like I was sitting in my living room. My friends totally love it too. Best night ever!!

  • Great experience!

by Pianomama on 10/29/23DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I loved this concert. It was so fascinating to see the music performed LIVE as we watched the original movie. This movie is my absolute favorite, and I knew all the points of the movie where there should be music. The band and singers NAILED IT. I loved it!

by Walker, A on 10/27/23DeVos Performance Hall - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

We had the best night watching the famous movie Dirty Dancing with an added flare of live singing and musicians. The atmosphere was so fun and energetic. We will definitely be attending more programs like this.
