About

DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:

Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

Dead & Company Rocks Oracle 07/15/2023

    by Marko Polo on 7/19/23

Dead and Company Final Show on 07/17/2023 was Fabulous. Set choice was a really great mixture of Grateful Dead and what John Mayer and other Members do so well. Second Set was really Great with Uncle Johns Band into the Other ONe and was proceeded by a Number of the Dead's Hits along with Fabulous Drum Colos and a Space Jam, ending back to The Other One. Only complaint I have was the Graphics (Trees & Psychadelic Imagery) which took over the Large Monitors during pretty much all of the Drum Solo and Space Jam. I would have much rather seen the Musicians showmanshp and Talent. Rock on Dead Heads!

    Great show, horrific lines

    by Tall Fan on 7/19/23

Entry for GA was appalling. Line almost 1 mile long. We learned for shows 2 and 3 we could get inside and get floor wristband through any gate. What a mess it was. But shows were amazing!

    Terrible organization

    by 5ugaree on 7/19/23

The first night, despite being to the show almost 2 hours early, we were in line for over 2 hours and 45 min. Missing the first 5 songs while we stood in a very very slow moving line that was almost 2 miles long. They only had one entrance for floor tickets. When the show started the floor was practically empty. The 2nd night they let us in another entrance but did not have wrist bands for the floor. The whole experience was organized by armatures or people who just care about getting your money.

    by Dom H on 7/18/23

One of the best concerts I have ever experienced in 58 years around the sun!!! The venue was so good at getting us in timely. After so many concerts with waiting in crazy lines and getting in after the show start, Oracle changed it all!!! We were in our seats at the show start both on Saturday and Sunday. Both amazing shows!!! Just sad it's over. Smile Smile Smile!!!

    Fantastic!

    by Jimmy Freeze on 7/18/23

All 3 nights were wonderful...each show had it's own personality. Night 1 was the sentimental journey. The video tribute was touching. Night 2 was the intense jam session. Night 3 was a fantastic set list with popular and surprise songs...and the 2 drone shows were breath-taking...worth the 3000 mile journey for the experience

Great shows, venue should have done better

by Old Man Way Down Down on 7/18/23

First off, Dead and Company get a 5-star review. They sounded the best they have in the 8 years of playing together. Their playing was exceptional for 5 out of 6 sets. They were a bit disconnected, and drained the first set of the last show but that's how it goes with this band. The overall sound quality for the show was excellent having sat in 3 different locations each night. The drone show the last night was spectacular. However, Oracle Park had organizational (long lines especially for floor seats) and space issues (frequent logjams) with poor rest room access and availability. Food overpriced with long lines but that is expected. Overall, Dead and Company gave us a lifetime memorable experience. Can't wait for the next iteration...
