DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:
Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.

Could not have asked for a better show, tremendous performance and extraordinary experience of music, lite, and mutual combination of audience and artists for a magical experience
The venue was great, employees helpful. Admission went smoothly and bag policy was generous. The show itself blew my mind! Dead and Co pulled out all the stops and played fabulously! We danced our tushies off! Great visuals, great sound. My one complaint was ticket price, which was outrageous. Really. I’m kinda disappointed that Dead and Co would do business with people who grossly overcharge for tickets. Jerry’s probably rolling in his grave over that.
Just exactly perfect! The dead are everything! The show was stellar and the drone show and visuals super cool!!! Love you!!!
The music was excellent. Sound quality was very good. No complaints about the performances. Getting into the campground was a nightmare. I know the Gorge had an on-site shooting at the prior music festival. HOWEVER, if you can't assure crowd safety without a 6 hour wait during . a heat advisory then you shouldn't be in business. We paid premium prices to be severely disrespected by the lack of any body looking at the end of the line and telling us how to make things easier or giving us an honest assessment of how long until we might set up our tent. There were 6 vehicle search stations, I timed it at 3 mins per car, that means only 180 vehicles per hour through that choke point. How is it no one did the math there? After getting through the check, there was inadequate guidance to get us to the premiere campsites and more confusion while setting up spaces so that safety corridors were inadequate for emergency services. The Port-a-cans and showers were clean.
All three shows were wonderful! It was a magical 3 nights in San Francisco!
Dead and company is always a good time. This show exceeded all my expectations. Best they’ve ever bern
Sixty-something and an avid concert attender over the decades. Many, many great memories and I feel blessed. Beaucoup different acts/bands/artists. All worth admission, many legendary. Dead & Company on Saturday and especially Sunday raised the bar. By far. For me, probably unsurpassable. Look for drone shows at outdoor venues now...
Beautiful experience at the show. The music was excellent and the band gave it everything they had and put on a fantastic show. 5/5 stars!!!! However, the venue is not properly equipped for how many people were on the floor. There is one men’s bathroom for 2000+ people. Six urinals and too many people to accommodate. I learned my lesson on the first night and chose not to drink on subsequent nights so I wouldn’t need to use their nightmare of a bathroom. People were pissing in garbage cans, pissing on the floor, etc…. 1/5 stars for Oracle Park.
Dead and Co. gave a great show, as always. Opening with Not Fade Away was definitely different. Oracle Park did a good job of getting people in efficiently. My only gripe (minor) is that the park doesn't seem to have water bottle fillers. I know selling beverages to a captive market is definitely part of the business model, but come one, this is San Franciso.
Dead & Co were absolutely fantastic! It's very sad that they're hanging it up.
Friday experience- fantastic concert, dreadful line to enter for GA! Spent almost two hours in line and missed the first 20 minutes of the concert.
On a perfect San Francisco night, Dead and Company hit all the right notes in what most likely will be the band's final performance with John Mayer on guitar. A beautiful time was had by all.
That's all there is to say.....just a completely epic show, crowd, and venue.
Oracle Park is a great venue for a concert - the final tour & last show of the Dead was my first experience there. The sounds were great, no lines for women restrooms (unheard of), and the music was great. Bring credit card/debit card as cash was not accepted.
the electronic boards they brought in and the graphics were also amazing.
What a wonderful family they have made. Dead & Company have become the tightest group of musicians I ever seen. Thanks for a awesome ride.
My happy place has always been live music, and this was the happiest place of all. I am saddened to think that this is possibly the end of this collaboration. I hope they continue to some extent.
I have been a Dead fan for about 45 years. I've gone to a lot of Grateful Dead shows and mourned the loss of Jerry. The addition of John Mayer brought a younger generation to the party and now they know all the great Dead hits. I've taken both daughters to Dead shows and they now truly appreciate the uniqueness of a Dead concert experience and their music. Great sets both Saturday and Sunday night. The band has matured over the last 8 years and are much tighter and together as a band. Sorry the party stopped but hope that not going on "tour"doesn't mean we might not get a or two in the bay area show!! I'm an optimist. The venue was very good for a large stadium.
A great show - being the last Sat. Show - maybe "One More Saturday Night"was an expected encore - but a great show!!
