DANA CARVEY ON TOUR:
Venerable funnyman and Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey is the mastermind behind some of comedy's most beloved personas, from Wayne's World's Garth Algar to SNL's Church Lady. One of the best impersonators in the business, Carvey takes aim at everyone from celebrities to past presidents in his hilarious standup act, only relenting to add off-color but hilariously insightful bits from his personal experience to the mix. Much to the delight of fans, Carvey is shamelessly devoted to pleasing his audience — each routine ends with a 15-minute Q&A where he fields questions and reprises characters from his rich comedic past. His passion was unmistakable on his 2013 tour dates, and fans can expect another priceless round of performances in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Missoula, Montana, Carvey landed some minor film roles in the early '80s before becoming a household name as part of Saturday Night Live's 1986 featured cast. Carvey played a pivotal role in boosting the show's waning popularity, becoming an audience favorite with iconic characters like Church Lady and the bodybuilder Hans of "Hans and Franz." His most famous SNL role, however, was his portrayal of Garth Algar alongside Mike Meyers in the epochal Wayne's World sketches, which spawned one of the most successful movie franchises of the '90s. Over his three decade-spanning career, Carvey has been nominated for six Emmys, cementing his place as one of comedy's modern greats.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"We laughed until we had tears in our eyes. He was so funny! His timing was impeccable."
"My face and stomach muscles were sore until late the next day from laughing and smiling so much! "
"Dana Carvey just gets better with time. Even our young daughter-in-law from the Philippines thought he was great! We really got our money's worth!"

We had never seen Dana Carvey before and wasn't quite sure what to expect. He had a "warm-up" comedian who really set a great mood. He was probably in his 60s and was very funny (sorry, I can't remember his name). He did jokes that would hit different age groups that helped him judge the makeup on the audience. Seems like most of the audience was between 40 and 70. He did a great job. Then Dana came out and was on fire. Constantly moving from one side of the stage to the other, one-liners, impersonations, stories, etc. Non-stop from start to finish. We very funny. At the end, the first comedian took a mic out into the crowd for a Q&A session. That was also great and lasted about 10 to 15 minutes. If you get the chance and have the time, give him a shot. I think you'll leave with a smile on your face. Enjoy!!!
First time i saw him he was side aching funny, second time still funny , but didn’t understand the not so funny Q and A after.
Old material, short performance, only an hour long
An absolute incredible show! Laughed hysterically all throughout the performance. We will definitely see Dana Carvey when he returns.
There was an opening act who was very funny and then Dana came on and crushed it!! And I've seen Eddie Murphy back in the day!
When I arrived at the casino I got in line to get screen by security, also the show failed to acknowledge was that the opening act started at 7:30 p.m. if I had known that I would have gotten there earlier also Dana's act was concise but I believe short for the cost of the ticket. It would have been nice to have a meet and greet or an option for that after the show they didn't even sell any merchandise go figure...
Great venue great show. Can't wait for the next one.
Dana Carvey was hilarious! From start to finish the room was crazy with laughter! His genius is exactly what the world needs now! He pokes clever fun at everyone so it’s fair and intellectual! The entire show with warm up act was a solid #10!
One of our greatest comedians, show was excellent. Still chuckling couple days later!
Dana Carver was GREAT! Hilarious and clearly having fun. The venue was awful. Casino atmosphere, smoke, etc. Location a long drive from central San Diego. To enter show you had to wind around the inside of casino
Dana Carvey was amazing! So funny. A good mix of his old stuff and new material. We had never been to Harrah's Casino and was impressed with it as well as the Event Center where Carvey performed. I would recommend both!
Great seats and very funny! Dana C put on a great show! Must see
Dana did all of his political voices, spot on impersonations, Paul McCartney telling John Lennon what’s been going on since he’s been gone. Funny stuff. Dana still has it! Funny guy.
Dana was amazing! Brought me back to the Saturday Night Live days. His impressions are spot on. We laughed the entire time. I would reccomend all to go see him in person. The venue set up was unorganized and the seating was horrible. The cheaper seats in the back were actually a better view of the stage since the seats were on risers. People walking in late was beyond rude and disruptive.
Long line snaking into venue in small area between slot machines and food stands. When you finally got inside you had to still loop around outside and come back in another door . And it was cold! Line was still snaking around when the start time of 8:00 came so by the time we got into the auditorium many people did not know which door to go in. Once inside no light and had to wait for an usher who suggested “if we came earlier “ we could have seen our seats . We were 1/2 hour in the line and got in at 8:15. Dana Carvey was great and seats were comfortable . Some material we had heard before on talk shows.
High end restaurant is sub par at best, would not return. Also venue stupidly made entrance into the event difficult and unable to get there on time because of unnecessary line when they could’ve just let people in multiple ways very very stupid would not return to Harrah’s for an event. Pechanga does a much much much better job. Dana Carvey was terrific great show!
Phenomenal! Such a brilliant, entertaining performer. If he was in San Diego more than one evening, I would have gone again. Hope that he comes back.
The show was great the venue was not. Way to long of a line just to get in because of security, not enough bartenders available before they show and surprised that they don't have stadium seating. It's a ballroom with chairs....that's it. Come on Harrah's - step it up.
What a fun nite! Non-stop topical, hysterical, interactive humor!
