CROWDER IN CONCERT:

When it comes to fun and worshipful concert experiences, few acts come close to the inspiring live shows of alternative Christian rock favorite Crowder. David Crowder has been treating audiences to his spiritual blend of indie, bluegrass, folk, and electronica for nearly two decades, and his ability to move audiences through music and prayer reflects his abundance of experience as a performer. Whether he's playing favorites from his days with the David Crowder Band or lifting spirits high with cuts from his chart-topping 2014 album Neon Steeple, Crowder always leaves audiences in awe on his unforgettable tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Texas-born David Crowder got his start as a musician with the church, undertaking music ministry duties while attending university in the '90s. Crowder formed a worship band and began performing in an effort to attract more college students to services, and before long the David Crowder Band had landed a deal with SixStep Records. Their 2002 debut album Can You Hear Us? peaked at No. 17 on the US Christian Albums chart, establishing them as a vibrant new force within the Christian rock community. Crowder went on to release five more albums with the band, topping the Christian charts three times and achieving crossover success with albums like 2012's Give Us Rest -- a No. 2 hit on the Billboard 200. After the group disbanded in 2012 Crowder ventured on as a solo act, topping the charts once again in 2014 with his solo debut Neon Steeple. A humble and inspiring performer, Crowder continues to move concertgoers on his critically acclaimed tours. Over the course of his career, Crowder has played venues such as the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, the Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, and Madison Square Garden in NYC.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"David Crowder put on a great show! Not only is he a very talented musician who surrounds himself with very talented musicians, he is also hilarious!"

"What a great night of worship and sing along. Really felt like I was on a porch and Crowder and the band were hanging out. I love the authenticity and honesty that Dave brought to the concert."

"David Crowder ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS) puts on a great show. The music is amazing....his stories are random and hilarious....and the worship is just awesome!"

  • Crowder was excellent when he finally got on stage

by CrowderFan2 on 3/5/18The Santander Performing Arts Center - ReadingRating: 4 out of 5

The concert started at 7:30. Crowder did not get on stage until 845. I agree with sponsoring needy children and sponsor one myself, but there was too much time spent talking about this topic. I paid to see Crowder. It was my first time at this venue and I was very pleased with it.

  • Excellent show!

by Townmom on 11/7/17Emens Auditorium - MuncieRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a long time Crowder fan and have wanted to see them perform for years. Wow, they were even better than I expected! Talk about a band that puts their heart and soul into their music, this group is it. What a blessing to use their talent to glorify God. I definately plan on seeing them again!

  • Disappointing opening acts

by IndyRuth on 11/7/17Emens Auditorium - MuncieRating: 4 out of 5

I'm used to going to Christian shows that have another lesser known act as the opening act, but the two bands that performed before Crowder were pretty awful. The Youth Escape were really bad. They seemed like high school kids who were performing their first concerts on this tour. The second opener was a little better, but still totally unknown. I would be willing to pay more for a ticket to see a better opening act with Crowder.

One of the best concerts we have been to and we will definitely be seeing him again.

  • Great show!

by Bert75 on 8/7/17Von Braun Center Arena - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Crowder is one of my longtime favorites, so I was super excited when I heard he was coming to town. He performed many of my recent favorites but also broke out some good ones from the David Crowder band days. Also, Tedashii was the opening act, and while this 40-something white lady is probably not his average listener, I really enjoyed his set as well. He's a talented rapper with a great sound and energy. One really cool moment was when Tedashii joined Crowder on stage to perform part of Lift Your Head, Weary Sinner.

  • Crowder and Tedashii were phenomenal!

by Traski on 8/7/17Von Braun Center Arena - HuntsvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great. Being a part of the older crowd, I wasn't sure what to expect from Tedashii but watching a thousand plus kids responding to his testimony and actively taking part in the show was pretty awesome. The Message was clear throughout the whole program and it was an awesome worship service.

Mac Powell was great even though I wanted to hear more Third day songs. It felt very short

Enjoyed very much. Loved the interaction between the bands. Loved the music.

  • It was AWESOME!!!

    by High5Man on 12/22/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

It was amazing to know that the show was sold out. More awesome from the VIP experience to being in the front row of the Christmas show. Crowder, Mac Powell and Unspoken were all amazing singing the Christmas songs that we know the words to and they also sing the hits that we know too.

  • A night to remember

by Daxy on 12/22/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn't sure of what I signed up for other than a Christian Christmas musical. It was so much more than Christmas songs. I enjoyed each of the shows and was not only entertained but also inspired.

  • Scaled down

Enjoyed last year much more. This seemed scaled down.

  • Great Show!

by HGMatthews on 12/21/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 4 out of 5

This was our first K-Love Christmas concert event and overall I have nothing but good things to say about it, with a couple of small criticisms. All three acts were great, I was amazed that Unspoken sounded as good as their CD's! Great vocal ranges and talents in this group! Mac Powell was good, but I guess I expected a little more from the veteran Third Day front man. I'm a fan of country music too, but that's not what I wanted to hear at the K=Love Christmas concert. It's a minor gripe but come on, it's called K-Love CHRISTMAS. Crowder was great. Love his music and his witness. And he definitely earned my respect with what he can do with the beat-up acoustic guitar! So outside of Mac's country side trip, the main reason I gave it only 4 out of 5 stars was that there just wasn't enough music. Too much talk during sets and intermission. Tickets cost too much and that left me feeling a little short-changed. My only other issue was probably self-inflicted. I took the whole family, including my almost 3-year-old daughter, and I was really proud of the great seats I scored, except for the fact that we were right in front of and under the stage left speakers! And I guess I wasn't thinking about how loud it would be. Needless to say, my youngest daughter did not have a very good time and let us know about it. I did bring ear plugs though, thank goodness, so that helped her out some. The only other criticism, again a small one, was the extremely limited selection of shirts available to purchase. I realize it was the last show on the tour but c'mon. So, I learned from the experience, and I'll be better prepared for the next time. I've already gotten my tickets for the Newsboys in March, a birthday present for the wife, and I purposely picked seating that was farther from the stage for my daughter so we will see how that goes. Overall, we really enjoyed the show and my criticisms are kinda nit-pickey, and I will definitely plan on attending next year if we have the opportunity. I do recommend the show and hopefully it will only get better year after year. And oh yeah, I have to admit, we were kinda bummed about Steven Curtis Chapman not being there. He was one of the reasons I bought the tickets so that was a little bit of a bummer.

  • Just ok

    by Scf1 on 12/21/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

Parking at the Laurie Auditorium is pretty poor. They need more parking and officers to direct the traffic. The seats in the auditorium are uncomfortable. The cheap seats in the back can barely see the stage. Jumbo-tron tv's would be a big improvement. And, there are no lights leading into the front door of the auditorium.

  • Unfortunate Circumstance

by SatTheWholeTime on 12/21/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 3 out of 5

Steve Curtis Chapman could not make the tour. Other groups filled in. This concert was fun, but was not spiritual. Really didn't expect secular Christmas songs. Last years concert was Awesome!! Will try again next year perhaps.

  • What a great new Christmas tradition for my family

    by DRE17 on 12/21/16Laurie Auditorium - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

This was a fun Christmas show with great music and all performances were awesome! Unspoken, Mac Powell and Crowder couldn't have been more entertaining, while bringing God's glory to San Antonio during the Christmas holidays. We will attend this again next year if they roll through town again.
