CROWDER IN CONCERT:
When it comes to fun and worshipful concert experiences, few acts come close to the inspiring live shows of alternative Christian rock favorite Crowder. David Crowder has been treating audiences to his spiritual blend of indie, bluegrass, folk, and electronica for nearly two decades, and his ability to move audiences through music and prayer reflects his abundance of experience as a performer. Whether he's playing favorites from his days with the David Crowder Band or lifting spirits high with cuts from his chart-topping 2014 album Neon Steeple, Crowder always leaves audiences in awe on his unforgettable tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Texas-born David Crowder got his start as a musician with the church, undertaking music ministry duties while attending university in the '90s. Crowder formed a worship band and began performing in an effort to attract more college students to services, and before long the David Crowder Band had landed a deal with SixStep Records. Their 2002 debut album Can You Hear Us? peaked at No. 17 on the US Christian Albums chart, establishing them as a vibrant new force within the Christian rock community. Crowder went on to release five more albums with the band, topping the Christian charts three times and achieving crossover success with albums like 2012's Give Us Rest -- a No. 2 hit on the Billboard 200. After the group disbanded in 2012 Crowder ventured on as a solo act, topping the charts once again in 2014 with his solo debut Neon Steeple. A humble and inspiring performer, Crowder continues to move concertgoers on his critically acclaimed tours. Over the course of his career, Crowder has played venues such as the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, the Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix, and Madison Square Garden in NYC.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"David Crowder put on a great show! Not only is he a very talented musician who surrounds himself with very talented musicians, he is also hilarious!"
"What a great night of worship and sing along. Really felt like I was on a porch and Crowder and the band were hanging out. I love the authenticity and honesty that Dave brought to the concert."
"David Crowder ALWAYS (and I mean ALWAYS) puts on a great show. The music is amazing....his stories are random and hilarious....and the worship is just awesome!"
Really enjoyed the music. Unspoken was great too!!!!
Such an amazing night. All of us had a great time from my 9 & 10 year old to me and my husband. We definitely plan on going again if we have the opportunity.
After our first attendance of the Christmas Tour, we were hooked. Last year we decided we wanted to take the whole family but only one if our grown children and her husband attended with us. I asked them afterwards what their opinion was and they both said it was way better than they expected. Maybe next year we can get the other 2 children on board to attend.
It's great to see all believers in Christ celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!!
Crowder was amazing!! You could feel the body of Christ come together to praise the Almighty!! Great memories with my daughters!!
Mac Powell, Unspoken and Crowder put on a really entertaining show and they played so well off of each other. It was amazing to have a show at Christmas time that focused on the reason why we celebrate Christmas! Was a truly unforgettable experience!
What an amazing, joy filled concert. It was more like praise and worship with everyone singing along.
Music was excellent, sound was good if a little loud at first. The last act had sound issues, but handled it well.
I would say that only about half of the concert was actual traditional Christmas songs and the rest of the night was filled with Christian radio songs and a child adoption plug. All of these things are great and it was a beautiful night...I just expected a night of Christmas songs! One issue (with the theatre) was with our seats...they were GREAT don't get me wrong! However, ushers were still seating late-comers at 7:40 (concert started at 7) so our view was blocked quite a bit for the first half of the concert or so...
I have seen David Crowder many time and have loved every concert, but something was very off this time. His voice was off from the start... sounded like he was getting over a cold or something, and the audience was never given an explanation. In addition, technical malfunctions ruled his set and not much spiritual content... seemed more like fluffy songs about reindeer than Christ. I was mostly in shock watching the stage manager more on the stage trying to fix things than and wondering if they were making things up as they went. Saw a more meaningful and well put together concert at my daughter's high school public school the following night. Not sure also why Mack Powell didn't play more Christmas songs off his album... he's got lots of them!
Mac Powell was the star of this show and the only reason I give it three stars. The instruments were over-amplified to the point that you couldn't hear the vocals clearly, and David Crowder let the crowd sing more than he did. He was the headline artist, yet some people left during his set. A late-show technical glitch had techs on stage trying to fix whatever had gone wrong with the mic, which was very distracting.
This concert was a blast to attend. Unspoken started the night off, and they were amazing. I think I liked them the best out of all three sets. Mac Powell was very entertaining and played a variety of music. Crowder was good. It seemed they were having some technical difficulties, but they got innovative and played some acoustic songs while waiting for the staff to fix the issues. LOVED the set. Great show over all.
Great time with excellent music, comfortable seats and overall great atmosphere.
My friend and I made sure to get our tickets early since we were so excited to attend. We were told that Steven Curtis Chapman would be there and not only was he not there but there was not even a mention that there was an artist change. All the artists were good but that was a little disappointing. We also did not appreciate the way the push for supporting Child Fund International was done. They could have just done the witness and the video and let us know they were at a table in the hallway for whomever's heart was pulled in the direction of sponsorship.
One of the best concerts I have been to!!!! I can't wait to book another K-Love event!!!
All three bands were great, lots of opportunity to sing along. Good staging, lighting and acoustics. In the future, it would be nice to also have a spiritual Christmas message or prayer.
Hi, I did not feel the event was as advertised. Too much conversation and few songs.
It was fantastic from the very beginning all the way to the end!
We were expecting a worshipful, Christ-centered event. It had moments of good worship (thanks to Unspoken and a few songs by Crowder), but it felt like it was more of a fun, secular type Christmas concert. Our biggest disappointment was Mac Powell. My teen boy was hesitant because he loves worship music, but isn't into concerts that focus on the performers. I kept thinking of the live recording we have of Third Day where Mac Powell says something like "You thought you were coming to a Third Day concert, but we're going to have a worship service tonight." I have never seen them in concert, but I assured my son that both Mac Powell and Crowder are worshipers. My sense of Mac Powell at this concert was "Worship is getting old, now I'm into COUNTRY! Let's do one more country song that has nothing to do with Christmas." That is wonderful that he is branching out into music that enables him to share Jesus with folks who wouldn't normally listen to Christian music. I love that!! But this was a Christian concert, with a Christian audience excited to worship Jesus, NOT hear all about Mac's new country music. We did appreciate Crowder's Jesus-focused songs, and we really enjoyed Unspoken. In fact, they were the highlight for us. We wonder if their relative newness to the Christian concert scene is what makes them more Jesus-focused overall. Fame has not hurt them yet. The intermission moment of focusing on ChildFund was another disappointment. We loved hearing about what they are doing, but the man sharing about it would have had a much better response if he hadn't tried to guilt everyone into giving. ("If you don't care, do nothing." Really?) People want to hear that they can make a difference - that was clearly communicated. He should have left it at that. We are full time workers overseas and here in the US for just a short time. His tactics made us cringe - and feel bad for ChildFund, which deserves better. Sorry to give such negative feedback, but we traveled about 5 hours and spent additional money on the hotel for our family of 6 to attend this concert. It might not have felt so disappointing if the cost wasn't so high. To end on a positive note - Unspoken was wonderful!!
Had a great time, my family enjoyed themselves as i did
