We spent $150 for our tickets; beer and food from 6-10. Ran out of beer, food was not manned and not enough seating. Had it not been for the awesome couple we met the evening would have been a bust.
Chose to attend this event because I've always wanted to visit Churchill Downs and this happened to fall on a night when I was passing through Louisville. This was a fun and well organized event that gave me a glimpse of this beautiful venue!
Watching the races was fun. The live music and commentary were on the other side of the building so it was like two different experiences. A little clunky to navigate: watch the races, inside to bet, the other side of the building for food and music.
We always love a day at Churchill Downs! It is such a wonderfully fun experience for the whole family.
Not only was this a great first experience to Churchill Downs, it was a great introduction to the sport for our kids. But more important, it was a great family event, memorable event and great time we spent together.
The food is very good. You have to go outside to see the track, and since you are six floors up, the entire track is visible, but small. If we go again, we'd pick a restaurant on a lower floor (3rd) or eat elsewhere and just pay general admission to the track. The novelty of eating in Millionaires Row is fun, but not spectacular. The museum and museum tours were fabulous.
The racing experience was fine. The reserved seats were filthy and covered in cobwebs. Could not sit there. How embarrassing when your guests are in town for Bourbon and Beyond. Not what was expected from the premier race track.
First time at Churchill Downs. Amazing place, so much history. Enjoyed watching races, as well as the back side and barn tour. Well worth the cost, tour guide Fergerspnwas very informative. Derby Museum was fantastic. So much history.
The stakes room at Churchill Downs is outstanding. The brunch is very good, the service staff is efficient and helpful. The view of the track and finish line is outstanding. We have been there before and will return again.
We love going to Churchill Downs! My husband and son both have health conditions and can not tolerate the heat so a day at the races was just the thing. The staff is always so polite and awesome.
The food was great. The put area at the finish line was so awesome. We got to pet the lead horses and feed them candy. The food and drinks included were an amazing bargain. And all the staff we encountered were so courteous and helpful. The silent disco was a blast and the music and art super fun. I would so do this again!
Had a great time!! We didn't get a chance to visit the entire property, but we had a ton of fun watching the races. Will most definitely visit again!!
It was everything I hoped for and more. Millionaire Row was fabulous! Great service, food was very good. Great view of the races,
We were in town for Louder Than Life and when it got cancelled we were trying to find some other things to do. This was highly recommended and was a really fun way to spend the evening. We would definitely recommend to anyone.
Great event, great venue, food was excellent, bar was not stocked well enough, ran out of alot
This was my first time ever at a horse race. I was urged to come here because of the tradition and pageantry of the venue by my wife who's family is from Kentucky. I was so impressed by the the closeness and feel of the track. I will be back!
So glad we made this trip. Food was great, friendly people and able to sit outside to watch the race. There were enough food stations that there weren't long lines. I recommend this event. We were there for the first Saturday of the fall season. Can't beat $49.00 especially when you pay $3000.00 derby week.
My first time at Churchill Downs and I picked 4 winners out of eight races and picked them because I liked their names! My husband picked 2 winners and our friends did too! Exciting and lots of fun cheering for my horse! CD is huge and beautiful. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful to ‘newbies’ like us. The horses are incredible, I loved just watching them parade in front of us. I wish we lived less than 8 hours away so we could go more often!
Katherine in Roses Lounge was absolutely wonderful. TicketMaster showed half the room as sold out when in fact no one was there. I love Roses Lounge for the view but it is difficult to get tickets to that room because for whatever reason tables are blocked as sold whether they are or not. It is also difficult to buy tickets because it is impossible to find the room and table that I want for any particular event. I wanted Roses Lounge for Thanksgiving but never could get those tickets so we are not going to do Thanksgiving at Churchill Downs for the first time in 9 years.
