CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:
Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."
"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"
"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

First show I have been to like this and loved it❣️Everyone he brought with him was great . I had to load their music to my phone when I got home!!
First of all, I definitely wanna say I love this venue so much. The acoustics are amazing and it just has such a comfortable vibe. I also love Chris Botti! He is one of my favorite trumpeters. I was a little disappointed in this show though. It just didn’t seem to flow well and seemed disjointed and random at times. I also felt he had too many guest appearances. I really wanted to see more of him playing the trumpet and not so many guest people as a part of things. The guests were great. I especially love the violinist. She had such a pure and beautiful sound that just cast a spell on all of us. It just would’ve been nice to have them on the stage less and doing more of his own stuff that we the fans love. I would’ve loved to hear more of his older songs, the Classics. Chris is still an amazing artist and I enjoyed every song that he played but again I just would’ve loved to see more of him and less guest performers. He’s the best!!!
Although everyone was extremely talented, the amount of time that Chris Botti actually performed was limited. The three guest artists were great, but hadn’t expected them as part of the concert. Total time of concert was 90 minutes with Chris Botti actually playing less than half of that time.
This was the best Chris Botti concert we have attended. Chris, was outstanding, as always but his repertoire of musicians, was exceptional! The pianist, by far, was unbelievable. He made the show. His talent and spontaneity amazing. I detected something special about him. I hope to see him perform again. The base player, drummer and guitarist all shined. The violinist paired so well with Chris’s trumpet. And the young jazz singer got the crowd on their feet. The venue, Hoyt Sherman, made it for an intimate evening in Des Moines.
The event was Chris Botti. It should have been Chris Botti & Friends. He brought such amazing talent with him. Thoroughly enjoyed the music from the first song until the last song.
Since there were some issues with the microphone that caused sound problems with the trumpet we wished Chris Botti would have played his instrument without the mic. The sound would have been so much better as he is a wonderful trumpet player.
I knew it would be a fantastic concert but never expected it to be as awesome as it was. As always Chris Botti had several guests with him but this time my husband and I were completely blown away by them. And his band was amazing. So much talent on one stage ! One of the best concerts we’ve seen !
I saw Chris for the 15th time (I try to see him every year when he comes to South Florida), and as usual, it was terrific. I don’t think it was his best concert, but even saying that it still was the highlight of my year. Not enough Chris as he seems to take too much of a back seat lately. I’m obsessed with John Splithoff’s song Paris. And Caroline Campbell and Leo Amadeo still stand out. There seem to have been some technical problems that Chris had to deal with the whole night and also the sound was not the best, but I will say that as long as I can manage to get tickets each year his show will be the highlight of my year. Best performer ever and with great musicians. And oh yes Veronica Swift is outstanding. Missed his old base player but the new one is fabulous. Show too short. But I adore him.
I have been to several Chris Botti events at The Parker and this was my least favorite. He is an amazing performer but he hardly performed that night. The sound system was off from the opening notes. It was annoying and also very loud. His “guests” were very good but there were too many of them. I went to hear him play and was disappointed that he didn’t play his best work.
The Parker Playhouse Is Fabulous! They Showcase Superior Talented Artists. By Updating The Acoustic System Will Surely Elevate The Parker Playhouse Entertainment Experience.
Excellent show!! All of the special guests were fantastic and Chris was absolutely brilliant!! Loved every minute of the show!!
The Parker Playhouse is one of my favorite venues and is always comfortable, although there was trouble with the sound throughout the concert. Botti kept having to go Off stage and speak with the sound guys. It was a wonderful concert and there were many guest Artists that were absolutely wonderful. It was a very entertaining concert even with the reverberation issues. I would’ve liked to know ahead of time that the concert would have been better described as ‘Chris Botti and friends’, I actually wanted to hear more of Chris Botti. Again, it was highly entertaining, That is why it gets five stars. I also found the ticket prices extremely reasonable, They also performed for over two hours and 15 minutes. I would go again. I do think that the Parker Playhouse needs to know about the sound issues and to make sure that they do not allow those problems throughout an entire concert again.
Excellent show - Chris Botti is an amazing trumpet player and guitarist. He has an excellent supporting band. His guest violinist, Caroline Campbell stole the show!
My wife and I enjoyed the show to the fullest, and would see him again.
Great show, CB is truly amazing and talented, his guests musicians and performers also put up an excellent show
I have seen Chris Botti before and have enjoyed his performances immensely. I know that he brings up and coming performers with him and that provides variety and interest. However, at this performance, he had FIVE talented guests. I enjoyed them all, but I came to see Chris Botti. He performed less than 50% of the time. Also, he used the mute on his horn excessively and the acoustics of the hall were not kind to that treatment. Overall, I was disappointed.
The acoustics weren't that good and at the end, Chris walked off the stage seeming to have technical problems. Also I wanted to know who the man was that performed with him but I couldn't find his name anywhere. The venue was very nice.
I’ve always appreciated Chris for his unique style, but over time, his shows have started to feel a bit too familiar. While consistency can be a good thing, it would be great to see him explore new sounds and take more creative risks. Each new show Tends to follow the same formula, making it hard to distinguish one from the next. While this might appeal to long-time fans like me who love his signature style, I was hoping for more variety and growth. I still enjoy his music, but I’d love to see him experiment and evolve. He has the talent to do so much more, and I hope future shows bring something fresh and unexpected. Understanding that he has his own band, but it always the same. Singers telling the same stories, ending playing the same songs. As a professional, I hope he listens to his followers and delivers something new.
The Saturday night show was as good as ever. New voices, new players and new sounds highlighted the night. Chris Botti and his band, never fail to delight. The new violinist (sorry I do not remember her name) was fantastic. The up and coming jazz singer was very entertaining (again my memory fails me as to her name). Overall, another great show. I plan to attend his show at the Birchmere again next year.
