About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • What a great experience

by MSF on 12/2/25The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

First row, near center stage, not five feet from the performers! Talent, interaction, performance and experience, all exceptional. Seats closest to center stage may have some restricted view (blocked by sound blaster speakers. Just left and just right of center may have more unrestricted visibility. This is our third Botti concert at this venue and we've already made plans to return again next year. This is a concert that is definitely in the "Don't Miss It"category.

  • Perhaps a C- at best.

The only truly enjoyable pieces of the evening were the two selections featuring the violin from earlier albums. Those performances captured the elegance and emotional quality I’ve always associated with Chris Botti. Unfortunately, the rest of the concert did not have the same appeal. The extended solos and excessive “jam sessions” from individual musicians—especially the drummer—felt overdone and detracted from the sophistication of the music. It lost the refined style that makes Botti’s concerts special. Another issue was the audience experience. I paid for premium seating in the A row, yet the couple next to me spent a good portion of the performance texting on their phones. The glare from their screens was distracting, and I was surprised that no ushers intervened, as this is something that should be addressed at a performance of this caliber. Additionally, there was no intermission. Most cultural events include at least a 20-minute break, which allows the audience to reset and fully appreciate the second half of the program. The continuous format made the concert feel rushed and somewhat fatiguing. It pains me to say this because I truly love Chris Botti’s music and have attended several of his concerts over the years. However, this was one of the least enjoyable experiences I’ve had—perhaps a C- at best. My hope is that this feedback helps enhance future performances and restores the elegance and cultural polish that have always set his concerts apart.

My wife and I see Chris every year at the Wilbur Theater. His performance and the talented people he brings with him are fantastic. Can't wait until next year.

Show started kind of slow but special guests really ignited the evening. All in all enjoyed the evening.

One of the best concerts I have ever attended. Beautiful music, surprising guest appearances and absolutely uplifting and beautiful event! We hope to see them again.

  • Great conncert....my 3rd time to see him here

by bob on 11/23/25The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El PasoRating: 1 out of 5

Great music. Unfortunately, our city does not appreciate nice smooth jazz music. There are tons of musicians I keep up with who would bring great concerts to El Paso...in the likes of Dave Koz, Boney James, Grover Washington, Euge Groove etc. Unfortunately, El Paso will not support them. Look at the small attendance at the Botti event. You all can push this.

Discovered Botti when he opened for Sting in 2000. We've seen him 6 times since. Great showman. I like how he brings along new talent for introduction.
