About

CHRIS BOTTI IN CONCERT:

Trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti has made a lasting impression on his audiences ever since his first touring gig with Frank Sinatra in the '80s. The trumpeter's style and grace can't be matched as he fills the room with the sounds of his 1939 Handcraft brass trumpet, spellbinding audiences with the instrument's rich tones. The Grammy Award winner has played with a number of legendary artists including Sting and Andrea Bocelli, captivating audiences with signature hits like "Regroovable" alongside classics like "Ave Maria." Chris Botti never fails to disappoint, and he's sure to take fans on a musical journey they won't soon forget with his string of 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Influenced by his mother's musical background, Chris Botti began playing the trumpet at age nine, but it wasn't until he heard the classic Miles Davis track "My Funny Valentine" several years later that he decided to pursue a career in music. During his senior year at Indiana University, Botti toured with Frank Sinatra, which led to a number of gigs with famous artists like Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Since then, he's released ten studio albums — seven have reached Top 10 spots on the Billboard Jazz chart — and sold three million records. He's also been the host of the radio show Chill With Chris Botti and performed with the Boston Pops Orchestra alongside John Mayer, Josh Groban, and Yo-Yo Ma. Back on the road in 2014, the trumpet virtuoso is set to captivate fans on his highly anticipated world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Chris Botti and his group are the best of the best in the arena of ultra-talented musicians. Of course the handsome man with the horn never lets his audience down. Even though he performs 300 days a year, he gives the audience his all as though it's one show just for them."

"Not only does Chris Botti shine with his talents, he has top notch musicians and a singer to make it an overall outstanding, entertaining evening. ...will definitely try to see the next show!"

"Chris Botti was charming in relating to the audience, and put on a spectacular display of musicianship. He's one of, if not the best, at his craft."

  • Unexpectedly awesome!

by PKS on 12/10/24Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Chris and his talented cast of musicians put on one of the best concerts we've experienced, and especially in the intimate setting of the Birchmere. We can't wait until he returns.

Concert was great . However, for some reason I was locked out of my Ticketmaster account. It was a good thing I had put my tickets into my Apple Wallet. Otherwise what could I have done to get into the theater? I chatted with your "chat"app, and that was of no use!

  • Dont miss this place!

What a well-run organization! Show was FABULOUS! wait staff terrific and food was very good. NO COMPLAINTS!!

  • Amazing Musicians

by LP on 12/9/24Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was so impressive. Of course Chris is a phenomenal musician, but so are his entire support musicians. The pianist, bass player, and percussionist were all top notch. Chris took the lead, but allowed all to shine. The special guests included were also amazing. Carefully crafted show with enough freestyle to make it one of a kind. I will definitely see Chris again when he is in town.

  • Great way to kick off the holidays

by Emart on 12/4/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti performs every year in Boston around the same time, the weekend after Thanksgiving or shortly after. And every year I love to go and start my holiday season. He brings out great talents to perform with, running through some of his own music and everything from jazz standards and new modern hits, and he always finishes the show with a selection from the classic holiday songbook. His banter between songs is always humorous and light and it feels great to be around a crowd that is enjoying the show as much as I am. I look forward to it every year!

  • Awesome Show!

by Tracye on 12/3/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Of course, Chris Botti did not disappoint. This is our 9th year in a row traveling from Texas to see his show. It was amazing and I can always appreciate his guest artists and outstanding drummer. A must see event.

  • Great guest appearances

by Brian on 12/3/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

Great show but little talent from Chris Botti. The guest violinist was excellent and guest vocalists were great. No impressive solo performance from Chris which was disappointing.

  • A night to remember

by Boston Fan on 12/2/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti is Great! His band is great, shout out to the drummer Lee Pearson what a talent. He plays with such joy. All of the guests helped to deliver a show that dazzled. I hope they all can come back to Boston next year. Wouldn't miss it.

If you want an easy process from beginning of purchasing your tickets to the night of the show then I highly recommend purchasing from Ticketmaster. Have never experienced a problem in the many years I’ve bought tickets! Absolutely love Ticketmaster .

  • Love Botti ….. but too much Reverb!

by Botti Fan on 12/2/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

We have gone 4 years in a row to his Boston concert. Great shows! This is the first year where his beautiful clean sound was masked with too much reverb. I noticed he had some new digital mute device with lights on his instrument……. Hope he goes back to less digital effects ….. we noticed he had to have repairs to his digital equipment during the show ………. Violinist was spectacular , singers were great … we do miss his old guitarist a little… Less reverb next year please , hope it was just temporary …….. we will be back next year!

  • Total Let Down!

by Anne on 12/2/24The Wilbur - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

I was SO excited for this show. So many of my friends saw Botti in other venues and said “I’d be blown away!” I wasnt. He hardly played, acted more like the band leader than the headliner, kept his back to the audience alot of the time when he played, didnt play alot of his popular songs and what he did play he turned into some sort of scat jazz tune that was unrecognizable from the original. Ill just stick with his CDs.

  • Chris Botti is awesome

by CG on 10/24/24Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti and his amazingly talented band and featured artists didn't disappoint. Unbelievable talent! The only exception is the location. The Balboa Theater is outdated. When booking tickets purchasing parking at Horton Plaza was encouraged. Bad move! The QR code reader couldn't read my phone and I had to pay additional parking. And what a bottleneck in getting out of that garage. We'll never go to Balboa Theater again.

  • Outstanding performances from everyone!

by RadiantBeam on 10/23/24Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second Chris Botti concert. It was everything I envisioned. He performed with excellence. His supporting players, i.e., piano, bass, guitar, and drums...excellent. In addition, his guests were outstanding!! Thank you La Jolla Music Society for being instrumental in providing this event

  • CHRIS BOTTI

ABSOLUTLEY FABULOUS! Truly one of my all time favorite concerts. Amazing musicians and great rapport with the audience.

  • Very special engagement

by Local Arts appreciator on 10/23/24Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I are not really jazz enthusiasts.. However, this concert was engaging and exceptional. Chris Botti cares about his audience and their experience. Bringing in 4 special guests to deliver a very unique experience was so appreciated. The young violinist blew us away as did the Jazz singer. Thank you thank you for a wonderful evening.

  • Awesome!

by Joya on 10/22/24Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center - HendersonRating: 5 out of 5

What an incredible performance by so many talented artists!! Excellent location but I prefer a tiered seating arrangement for better viewing.

  • Enjoyed concert though expected more

by Wayne on 10/22/24Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center - HendersonRating: 3 out of 5

First time seeing CB play live, ended expecting more. Waiting for songs that he made popular but were not played. Indian Summer, good morning heartache & regroovable to name a few Audio lag on 2 giant monitors facing audience. Seat arrangements could be improved. Chairs arranged one in front of the other, floor was leveled so most of what I can See was the back of the head gentleman in front of me. Had to lean left or right to see the stage.. To think I even upgraded my seat hoping for a better view. I talked to manager Luke to make constructive criticism to improve viewing experience at their concert hall. Lesson learned, check seat view before purchasing tickets (oh yeah I searched online but did not find any), maybe there was a good reason why. 😂

  • Amazing

by Anna Banana on 10/22/24Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center - HendersonRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti is an amazing artist, enjoyed his concert! However, I didn’t like the Green Valley Ranch casino venue, he played in a banquet room. He’s a well known artist and he should be playing at the Smith’s center, the Palms, Venetian, or Caesar Palace - not at a banquet room! In addition, after stepping out to the bathroom and returning, we had to go through security again which didn’t make any sense, it was ridiculous and a waste of our time! With that said, this has confirmed I will not be returning to the Green Valley Ranch Casino.

  • Relaxing

by Michael on 10/21/24Green Valley Ranch Grand Events Center - HendersonRating: 5 out of 5

Chris Botti and his group were outstanding making the concert worth paying for. The seats that we purchased were the best due to Chris coming to the floor and playing in front of us. I feel the seats were arranged, as if you were as if you were in a conference room, and would have done much better at the Smith center
