Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

  • Greatest Game

by DEJAY on 10/20/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The WNBA Final game was exciting down to the wire. I'm scared of heights and managed to jump up/down in my seat in the balcony. Chicago sports is jumping & on the rise thanks to the ladies of the Chicago Sky. Future Ticket Season Holder.

It was a great time for me and my friends. We were ecstatic to be apart of history. It was an amazing game. We can’t wait until next season.

  • I attended Game 4 of the WNBA Finals at Wintrust Arena.

by MG on 10/20/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Wintrust Arena is really, really nice. It's clean, it's easy to navigate, and the seats are comfortable. My only complaint is that the food options are somewhat limited, but that is really a minor quibble. Seeing a Chicago Sky game is an awesome experience. The fun to monetary cost ratio is off the charts.

  • First WNBA Game

by DA Shogun on 10/10/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This was my first WNBA game and I'm definitely planning on going to more Sky games in the future. This was a playoff game win that sent the team to the Finals. It was fun and exciting. Fans were great, loved the location and close parking. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the team didnt have a shop or stand to buy merchandise and I love getting keepsakes from any large event I go to. Regardless, it was wonderful and I'll definitely be back.

  • Great time had by all. Bring on the Aces!!!

by “STEVE & CHRISSY” on 10/9/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

All good seats. Candace brings us that Championship pedigree. Let’s go “SKY!!!”

  • Great game, disappointing venue products

    by 80’s Lady on 10/9/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The service people were very kind and thorough; however, venue products were disappointing. The food was cold—-hotdogs barely steamed and pretzels didn’t seem fresh. What was MOST disappointing was the very small supply of t-shirts. Shame on NIKE! This was a playoff game for the SKY to get to the FINALS, yet there were no FINALS t-shirts to be found. It’s no surprise really, because it was a women’s game. This would never have happened if it was amens game. Soooo disheartening!

  • Amazing

by KD on 10/9/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I always have the BEST time at Sky games. Easy to get to stadium, cheap food and drinks, reasonable prices and always way better seats for the price.

  • There was no social distancing when it came to seating.

by Van on 10/7/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

People were sitting practically on top of each other. There was crowding in the vestibules, despite the efforts of the safety and security personnel encouraging people verbally and with their signage to social distance and maintain face coverings. Even though it was exciting and I really had a great time, I was kind of leary of how close people were seated. there was no spacing at all.

  • Had a blast!

    by A. Moore on 10/6/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Saw a good game and enjoyed view from my seats. Good experience

  • Great game

    by Tammy C. on 10/6/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I have gone to sky games, but never just as a fan. I used to work the games at their former venue. I was impressed by the arena layout. Everything was easy to find. The game was awesome. I was debating whether or not to go. I am sooo glad I went! If game 4 was not during the week i would consider going again. I will definitely go to more games!!

  • The Sky

by Esterojim on 10/6/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I went to game 3 of the WNBA semifinals with the Chicago Sky and the Connecticut Sun at Wintrust Arena and it was an absolute thrill. This was my first time to see a WNBA game and first time at Wintrust. Everything worked out so much better than I could have imagined. Got there a little early so I went to the Marriott next door for a coffee and then took the bridge to the arena. Easy check in with mobile tickets. Great game and enthusiastic crowd.

  • Better than NBA

by ADG on 10/6/21Wintrust Arena - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The Chicago Sky game at Wintrust arena was a fabulous experience and an awesome game. It was a great crowd, the game was great and it was more exciting than an NBA game. I will be back. Go SKY!
