Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

  • These ladies can ball!

I love the Sky. But, I actually went to see Taurasi and the Mercury, my favorite team. I was amazed on how fast paced the game was. The ladies were so talented. It's great to see some of the best players in the world. Taurasi got 23 points!!

I had a really good time, I wish there was more time to spent with the players, before or after the game.

  • Amazing game Sky win

Too much other "stuff" going on so it was difficult to watch the basketball game. Definitely for the younger crowd not us retirees!

  • Chicago Sky was absolutely amazing!!!

Always wanted to attend a Sky game but never had the chance. My boyfriend surprised me with tickets and I couldn't have been more surprised. Had a blast. I was on my feel almost the whole time. I've been to plenty of Bulls games but this was different. I am considering buying season tickets. I had a blast last night.

  • Lots of fun

I took my older 2 daughters to the Sun game. It was our first game, it was great. Very exciting to watch, lots of stuff going on to keep the crowd involved. We loved it. We will definately be going back next season to watch a few more games.

The game was great. Love the half-time events but the sound system is not clear when the announcers speak. I attended the Girl Scout Alumnae Reception and the location was perfect!

  • The Sky game rocked!

    by EyesOfBrown73 on 8/9/10Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The overall experience was nothing short of awesome! I can not believe that these ladies don't draw a bigger crowd. The game itself was intense! I looked into buying season tickets because my 14 year old daughter and I were so impressed by the entire atmosphere. The one drawback. Our seats. Expensive at $125 a piece. 3rd row floor. OK, except we were behind the media screen for the entire warm up and almost the first jump ball. People were almost tripping over the legs from the supporting marketing promotion that was going on before the game start. One of the ticket managers did move us to a 2nd row end court, but it was too far and too low to see to the other end of the court for any action. We wound up teatering back and forth from our original seats to the other seats. I will be sure to return because the entertainment is priceless. But I will be more careful of the ticket locations. It would nice to have a 360 view of the court when buying on line, in lieu of just a chart of seats. So you can experience the actual view of the court from the actual seat, or general vacinity. We wanted to purchase team gear, but there was no set-up at the venue for that. It would have been nice to buy it in person, for sizing, etc. Instead of going on line.

  • Go Sky!

My first experience attending a Sky game, after providing tickets for others many times! I'm very glad I came, and will continue to support these ladies. Glad they won (big time!) as well.

  • Chicago Sky = Great Entertainment

    by ATEACHER4 on 7/17/10Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

This was the second game I attended this season. It is disappointing that this team doesn't get more support as they play great basketball and the overall experience is great. Ticket prices are very reasonable. Allstate Arena is a convenient location and because of relatively small attendance parking was not a problem and we were out of the lot 15-minutes after the game. The Sky people do a very nice job of entertaining the crowd during timeouts and at halftime. There are giveaways. Programs are free and souvenirs are reasonably priced. There are many restaurants in the area, so you can make a nice evening of it. These players are not high priced spoiled athletes. They make anywhere from $35,000 to a max of $100,000 a year and they play a great brand of team basketball. So go out to eat, take in the game, maybe get a drink afterwards. It makes for a fun evening.

  • Unexpectedly Fun!

Even if you are not a fan of basketball, these ladies were great to watch. I would recommend this event for families. The on court entertainment was great for kids and the game was pretty exciting!

  • Very Exciting

  • Chicago sky game

    by ladyblue1285 on 6/7/10Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 3 out of 5

The game was great howeever the seats were not the best available, there were many seats in row one and two that were empty, half the arena was empty. also. the third row seat has a gap between it and the second row so all the traffic crossed in front of you. never buy row three on the floor.

  • by tif1959 on 6/6/10Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The Women play great. come see a game and u will be a fan!!!!!!!!!!

  • WNBA is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

I would most likely attend more games at Allstate Arena. I had a good time and would do my best to spread the word.

  • A great game, great seats, and great fans!

by mofro on 5/28/10Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

We have never sit so close to the court before so my partner and I were stoked! We heart the Storm. Now that we are living in the midwest, this is the first Storm's away game we've been to. Unfortunately, they've lost to the lady Sky, but nevertheless the event was unforgettable. We sat next to our fellow Storm fans. The Sky fans next to us were a lot of fun to hang with. Also, being able to see Sylvia Fowles, Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Perkins, Epiphany Prince (and others) up close is pretty amazing. AllState Arena's seating section 111 row DD was perfect. One downfall of the event is the seating assistance crew (well, one in particular) was being too helpful...almost overbearing, so we got annoyed with him. Other than this, everything else was perfect. (Also, I wish more people would come and support the Chicago Sky ladies. I mean, they're so good!!! They deserve as much support as the Bulls.

  • Awesome

    by Bunny05 on 9/17/09Chicago Sky, pavillion - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I had a awesome time. I like the game, the entertainment throughoout the whole game and after the game, the candy. My children and nieces loved being displayed on the cameras over 5 or 6 times. They were very excited over the game. I think they should be the SKY cheerleaders! lol, but overall, I really enjoyed myself!

Had the honor to watch the Sky live for the first time this season. Unfortunately due to economy concerns it has put a strain on my ability to participate in their season games. Had a great time and I look forward to next season. Thank you!!!
