Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

  • Way too loud!!!!!!!

by KareemMagic on 9/4/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 1 out of 5

The piped in music was unbeleiveable. Giving people thunder sticks was unbeleivable. It was so loud, I actually thought I was going to faint. My wife and I are big sports fans, we attend college and nba games regularly, The noise of loud CHEERING (or booing) is great. But piped in music screaming in your ears is horrible. I am sure twe WNBA tries to do this to offset the small # of fans. But seriously - we are going to watch a basketball game, not a concert. Also, we are 45 years old, so it's not that we are senior citizens (althoughI felt sorry for a few that I saw at the game - they left a couple of minutes in to the game, as we did).

Had a blast watching the Sky play. It was a very intimate environment and great event for the family...especially kids. The concession stand left a lot to be desired though. Not sure if it was because the event was on a Sunday or if it's like that all of the time.

  • Chicago Sky was good entertainment.

    by retiree2004 on 9/4/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were very good for the price.Basketball game was exciting and at time outs lots of things going on to hold your attention. Refreshments were good and not outrageously priced and there were enough stations open that the lines weren't long.My granddaughter had a good time and we will do it again sometime.

  • Great Seats, Great Crowd, Great Experience

    by Nigo242 on 9/4/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

First Sky game. Was very happy and pleased with the seats. Food prices were a bit more expensive then I expected. Sky Guy was fun, and the entertainment was pretty decent. I'd go to more sky games.

  • Sound was waaaay too loud

by Mucrahj on 7/8/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 3 out of 5

I know they must turn up the volume for sound and music to make the event seem more exciting but we brought our toddler and if my ears were ringing when we left, i can only imagine that her were even worse! I went to see some good basketball, not go deaf!

The Sky team is really talented and they played an excellent game. I would recommend a Sky game to anyone who loves the game of basketball! Well worth the money.

  • SKY HIGH!

    by gonzomez12 on 6/21/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Game was awesome! Tickets were more than reasonable and the teams put on a great game! Indiana won in the end, but the Sky fought til the buzzer. Half time show was fun to watch and good for all ages.

  • Great stadium

by Chesapecten on 6/17/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The Allstate Arena was a fun stadium and the Sky a great team to watch. In the area? Definitely catch a Sky game!

  • Great Fun for the Family

by GrammaBunny on 6/13/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

We went to the game with our eleven-year-old granddaughter. There are not many events that both she and we would consider to be awesome, but we all had a fantastic time. The Kid's games really added to the fun, plus all the other activities that were going on. It was a terrific evening and we look forward to going back again soon. In fact, our granddaughter has spread the word and the deal is, next time we will go with both granddaughters, The only "flaw" was that the Sky did not win. Go Sky!

  • Sky basketball is a great way to spend a few hours

by BenjaminD on 6/10/12Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I love the Sky games. The crowd is really into it, the players give it all they have, and there are tumblers (McKids) who are way better than any cheerleaders.

  • Nail biter till the end!!!

by Tufchk on 9/1/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The game went back and forth but the Sky held on to win it! It was interesting to see the time out displays and how the crowd would interact.

  • Great Atmosphere

    by Chuck214 on 8/15/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

I surprised my 12-year-old daughter with tickets to the game. And what a surprise it was, even for me! Not only was I impressed with the level of skills the ladies had , I really liked the community involvement. I hope and pray that people raise level of support for this league. I think it gives young female athletes something to shot for (no pun intended) . I regret that I waited so long to attend a game. We had a really good time!

  • Small seats but Great Experience!!

    by tryce4life052 on 8/14/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed my first Wnba game despite having to get up and let people by and also the leg room was ok and seating was a little uncomfortable for anyone over 5'8 but overall I enjoyed my experience! Loved the game and the fact that players sign autographs after the game! Go Sky!!!!

  • Great game; so-so venue

by Garyfotodiver on 8/9/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 3 out of 5

The Sky put on a great game, defeating the division's top team. Obtaining my tickets at the Will-Call window was a chore. The ticket windows are in a separate building from the court, and it rained hard so I was soaked. The arena was cold and my daughter and I shivered. There was no coffee vendor open, not even a Starbucks.

  • GREAT time

    by Mely0914 on 8/9/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

First WNBA game and we loved every second of it. We'll definately be going to more games. Possibly, even, purchasing season tickets.

  • First Sky game!!

    by PPie11 on 8/1/11Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Great game! The Sparks gave us a run for our money and, up until halftime, I didn't think we could turn around a 15 point deficit. Even though we lost, the Sky came back fighting and closed the gap. That's when the game got really good!! Can't wait to go to my next game!
