Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

Wish they would have more WNBA games here. I am a big fan and have seen many of these ladies play on the college level - on Direct TV. What an opportunity to see them play in person!

It wasn't just a basketball game it was an experience from beginning to end. I hope they have this every year

  • Quality basketball

by bbhensfan on 5/16/14University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

My first WNBA game. I liked the quality of play. Even though it was preseason, the play was serious and the game close. It was good to see several former CAA players on the court. Univ. of Delaware as usual did a top-notch job of hosting the game.

  • Exciting game with a lively crowd.

The Sky v Fever game was worth the money we spent for tickets.

First time to a game and it was fun. Took the kids and they had fun too. Too bad more people don't know about the team. I will go again.

Now that Chicago has a new coach and great players they are so competitive and fun to watch. Pulling out a win in the last second was amazing. Good family fun.

  • Chicago Sky Basketball Game

by tebball on 9/15/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 2 out of 5

The game was fine. Players are great. Fans are the most discourteous I have EVER seen. Has no one ever heard of waiting until play stops before dragging your 14 hotdogs and 6 giant sodas back to your seat? The arena staff should enforce a hold! Arena - terrible. If you pay "top dollar" for seats (center court lower level), you cannot see the scoreboard. The "jumbotron" had little value and the audio was TERRIBLE.

  • Great venue, amazing game!

    by CD999 on 9/3/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

I was surprised at how inexpensive the game was compared to the NBA while getting a better experience. I hope to make it back for more games with in the future.

Had an amazing time! The purchase was easy to do last minute as a will call. For any basketball fan seeing a women's game is such a great experience.

  • Sky Champs!

    by chibulls2 on 8/26/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The game was great. The seats were awesome, second row behind the Liberty player bench. Great fan interaction. Parking was a fair price, compared to parking prices for major events.

  • Better than NBA action

    by Hoosier18 on 8/14/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

WNBA basketball is a great event to watch. They play true team basketball. I am so tired of the 2 on 2 and isolation offenses of the NBA. Plus NBA players are all about themselves and their egos. Try the WNBA, you will be surprised and enjoy basketball the way it should be played.

  • WNBA is the real thing

    by JDEAN2 on 8/14/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I purchased the WNBA tickets as a gift to my 11yr old daughter who loves basketball. I was not expecting to enjoy the game myself as much as I did. It was probably the most exciting live sports game i've seen live since the monday night OT Bears Vikings game couple years back. Skill level of the ladies was very high and both teams were very physical. Elena Delle Donne is worth the price of admission herself, amazing player.

  • Chicago Sky vs Minnesota Linx

by TXchicago on 8/14/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

2 best teams in the WNBA. Exciting basketball, especially in the fourth quarter. The quality of the play was as exciting and executed just like mens BB, just not as physical.

  • by Gobullz21 on 7/23/13Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were tight but visibility of the court was great. The stadium should look into its sound system as some good music was ruined because of the acoustics. I accidentally spilled some of my drink at the refreshment stand and they refilled it for FREE!!

  • It was AWESOME!!!!
