Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

Went as a family and enjoyed ourselves! The team put on a great game and showed our girls the power of determination.

  • Exciting game

by RickTheMarine on 7/15/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

The crowd was really wound up. A lot of good non-game entertainment.

  • Fake Noise was way too loud!!!

    by deaf10 on 6/25/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 1 out of 5

Need to pay more attention to the basketball game and less attention to generating fake noise. The piped in rock music from the DJ must go before I go to another game.

  • The game was amazing!

It was a terrific game in a great venue. The seats were amazing!

  • All state arena

    by Quindi1 on 6/23/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 2 out of 5

Great game as far as the basketball play and great seats but the arena is beyond gross. It's dirty, the seats are stained with broken down, uncomfortable cushions.

  • Sky at The Allstate

    by pally7 on 6/2/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Enjoyable night . Crowd was into it. Sky pulled away in the second half and blew out the Conetticut Sun. Had great seats I bought online 2 rows behind the Sky bench.

  • Sky Game Addicting!

    by pally7 on 5/31/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Had great seats 3 rows behind the Minnesota bench. The crowd was into it the whole game as the lead changed hands throughout the game. The game ended with a failed shot at the buzzer by the Sky which would have tied the game.

  • Lynx in Chicago

    by LynxFan2 on 5/29/14Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

Drove to Chicago to watch the Lynx play the Sky. Sat behind the Lynx bench. Great game!

  • The game was ecstatic.

I had an enjoyable time. That was my first time attending a Chicago Sky game. I'm from Mn. I appreciate women athletics and admire Sylvia Fowles and Ellen. The stadium is well labeled for easy locate. I purchased other game tickete in March and was able to locate this one seat next to my other 4 tickets. The only complaint I have are the size of the chairs are horribly small. My hips are still hurting.

Had a great time! Only thing I did not enjoy was the hour wait outside before the venue opened, although the weather was nice

Awesome more exciting and up close and personal than the NBA

  • Awesome

WNBA should come to DE more often! The game was great and there was plenty of action all around.

  • very welcome in Delaware

    by hoops48 on 5/16/14University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

University of Delaware went all out to welcome fans and provide good entertainment. Everyone got a t-shirt "Battle at the Bob" Sixers cheerleaders and pep squad and drum line from a local HS I think. Game was great, but Washington couldn't quite get over the hump

  • WNBA PRESEASON

it was great to have a professional woman's basketball so close to home. It was exciting to watch recent college grads playing professional after watching them the 4 years they were in college. would love to see more games come back to the BOB.

  • Battle at the Bob

by AJCrite on 5/16/14University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Delle Donne's return to UD as a pro was a smashing success. Delaware fans turned out in great numbers to watch the Sky hold off the Mystics.

  • Terrific Game!

by wormsrule on 5/16/14University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Great game, great players, and a happy, in-to-it crowd.

  • The Bob was full of Blue Hen fans!

    by 22hen23 on 5/16/14University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Elena was the main attraction. Everything she did drew applause from those in attendance.

Overall this was a excellent event, I hope more WNBA and possibly NBA preseason games can be played at the Bob Carpenter Center, because it provides a great atmosphere and gives fan of the games a better opportunity to see games of this magnitude closer to home.
