Chicago Sky History

The Chicago Sky are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The team played their first season in 2006, then qualified for their first postseason in 2013 before advancing to the Finals for the first time in 2014. Initially led by Sylvia Fowles, who won WNBA Defensive Player of the Year twice as a member of Chicago, the Sky experienced more success with 2015 MVP Elena Delle Donne and seven-time league assist leader Courtney Vandersloot. In 2021, the Chicago Sky won their first WNBA Championship with a squad featuring Vandersloot, Finals MVP Kahleah Copper and seven-time All-Star Candace Parker. After the Sky drafted Angel Reese in 2024, the rookie center set the WNBA record for highest single-season rebound average and later earned the league’s Peak Performer honor for rebounds.

  • Great seats and hospitality, lousy officiating.

by DaHouseMan on 8/24/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Sat courtside for the sky on a Friday night. Great service and good food. Not a large crowd but they were loud and involved. Both teams played hard and physical, and the game was very entertaining. Too bad the officiating was horrible. The WNBA should work on that because they otherwise have a great product.

  • Quigley At The Buzzer! (OK, Maybe 3 Seconds)

by BBix on 8/24/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

We LOVED our experience in the PRACTICALLY COURTSIDE SEATS (Section 111, Row AA) at the Sky vs. Mystics game on 8/21. Two evenly matched teams, at this point in the season, played a game with many lead changes, surges and comebacks. High quality basketball! We loved being close enough to see facial expressions, on the court and on the bench (we were FIFTEEN FEET from the Mystics), and to hear a bit of the game chatter. An incredibly accessible event space in Rosemont, near a ton of dining options in all price ranges, and no-sweat parking.

Wish there was more to do for the teens to do prior to the game. Told theses were best available. But saw empty seats below us. Hard to see when others come down and sit in the open available seats!

  • sky game too loud

    by mickey137 on 8/8/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 3 out of 5

The game it self was awesome. Watching Catchings and Delle Donne was a real treat. But it is hard to enjoy the game with the loud music playing the entire time and with the flashing lights. Like I said, the rest of the experience was great. The staff is great. The venue is great. The music was a major distraction.

  • WNBA Rocks!

    by Kiwi35 on 7/25/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

Our daughter is a huge Atlanta Dream fan; the Dream vs Sky games are always a great matchup. We were able to get 1st row seats right behind the Atlanta bench for a reasonable price and be just 25 feet behind the players. How cool!

  • Awesome experience!

The game was wonderful. The ladies can play ball. Other entertainment during breaks and halftime was very nice. Friendly atmosphere. Good family fun that is nice for date night too.

  • Amazing time!

by Anonymous on 7/22/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable time watching Delle Donne, Vandersloot and the rest of the Chicago Sky dismantle the San Antonio Stars! This one of Chicago's best kept secrets and I hope more dads realize the great fun and value the team brings to our city. My 2-year-old daughter is a fan for life after her first game and we plan on coming back to many more in the future! Go Sky!

  • Chicago Sky did not disappoint!

by MinyMoe on 7/13/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

Brought my girls to their first Sky game who had a great time! Easy venue to get to from the western suburbs. Parking was on-site and simple to get out. Concessions were plentiful with reasonable pricing. Really not a bad seat in the house. Great fan participation.

  • WNBA Sky Shines

by Anonymous on 7/13/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I went into the game wanting to see the Sky get a win and show my daughter the love for basketball is not only for boys/men. Since she has been born, we have only watched the Bulls, now she is wearing a #11 Delle Don jersey shooting shots on her little rim in our basement.

  • An incredible ball game!

by TazLive on 6/28/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 5 out of 5

I am a big NBA fan and went to watch numerous games in the past. This was the first time watching a WNBA game. It was a surprisingly close match and I enjoyed it a lot! One of the reasons I went to watch is Elena Delle Donne. Wow, she played like Kevin Durant! She's tall, quick, and such a finisher!! Glad that I witnessed she scored 45 for her carrier-best. On the other hand, Angle McCoughtry played like LBJ in the last NBA final! Her endless attacking to the rim led the Atlanta team to the overtime. I also was very impressed all the ball movements with the both teams. I paid just fifty bucks to sit right in front of Gatorade cans on the court side of the Atlanta team. (Don't know how much needed to do it with a NBA…) Since it was a daytime game, my seat was surrounded by hundreds of summer camp kids from the local schools, which was a fun experience, too.

  • The Sky won

by Qutbacking on 6/28/15Allstate Arena - RosemontRating: 4 out of 5

Easy access to entrance and seating. A lot of foot traffic in front of AA seating might go for CC next time and $13 cash only in this day.

  • Chicago Sky at University of DE

by vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv on 5/31/15University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5

Overall outstanding! We love to see Elena Delle Donne play at the "BOB". We only wish she had played more. She played a total of 16 minutes, which we get, since it was preseason, but she went out with 6 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and didn't return. Fans were chanting her name to return. The only other complaint is that the doors only opened 1 hour before the game. I know this is WNBA rules, but there is only 1 entrance and thousands of people lined-up to the street. They need to make an exception.

  • E DD

by vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv on 5/30/15University of Delaware - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Drove to DE specifically to see this game... I live in Buffalo, NY. The game did not disappoint!! The "Bob" is a great venue for basketball, & of course, most of us were there to see the hometown girl, Elena Delle Donne!! For those who don't know of her, she's the female version of Michael Jordan! Hoops experst have saud "she is probably one of the best players in basketball, male or female, period'! We agree. A 7 hour drive is worth it to see a player of such unsurpassed skill!! Only complaint... 1st pre-season game, and we didn't see enough of E DD!!

  • game was electric!
