CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:
More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."
"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."
"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

Great Concert all real all live, Robin sounded fantastic, the whole band kicked ass. Can't wait to see them again
Unfortunately the sound was terrible. You couldn’t even hear Robin Zander’s voice. Not sure if it was the mixer or Spotlight 29 theatre. Very disappointed as they have great music
Buy the record ! It would be less expensive and sound a hell of a lot better. The music was loud and distorted. Time to retire boys.
Great setlist! Robin’s voice is still incredible. Sound was loud but clear. Band was tight.
I had a great fun experience seeing my favorite Rock band of all time, even in their older years, they can still rock it out! Venue was almost 80% full and many were into the show bigtime.
Fun! The great rock music of Cheap Trick coming alive right before your eyes! But hey Rick! No need to blow hawkers in the stage…. thank you.
It was a great show from beginning to end. They still have an exceptional stage presence and bring plenty of energy to every song, from the newer material to the originals we all know and love. And on that point what true fan wouldn't think it's well worth it just to sing along to "The Flame"and "Surrender". Don't ever quit guys.
They gave a great show and were tight and dry entertaining. They did all their hits and lots of numbers that I was unfamiliar with , but all were very good. I saw the a number of years ago open for Aerosmith and was unimpressed. After this show, i would go see them again. Highly recommended, especially if you are a real fan.
Always awesome to see the boys. I hope Rick gets better but glad to see him giving it hell! Robin voice was so amazing clear for this show . Everyone one played well and it was great to hear some deep cuts . Missed ello kitties. Though
This was a totally phoned-in performance. Their contempt for the audience was palpable. It was obnoxious. Every song sounded the same, and the music was screamingly loud and repetitive. The whole evening was an ear-splitting crashing bore, and a total waste of my money.
It's time for this band to get off the road. The sound was horrible and way to loud. I wear hearing aids and had to take them out. They need a new person working the sound Board. The Hard Rock has great sound if done right but some sound people just don't get it. My wifes Apple Watch told her that in 10 minutes she would start to hurt her ears because of the decibel level. I think they distort so badly son no one can really hear them sing or play. To be honest I don't even think Rick Nielson plays anymore. When they would show him on the video screen his motions did not match the sound. I guess that is why they now have a second guitarist. If bthey happen do be a on bill of someone else i guess I would sit through it but I would not pay to see them.
Would have liked to hear more of their hits like Voices, if you want my love, 70s song, California man, and I can’t take it… i wasn’t familiar with 2/3 of the show. Sounded good though and they are still entertaining in their 70’s!
I hadn't seen Cheap Trick live since 1978. And, like a fine wine, the band is aging very well. I had very high hopes and expectations and was not disappointed. As a percussionist, I was always a big fan of Bun E. Carlos. However Daxx Nielson quickly won me over. I couldn't give the show 5 stars for one important reason. Could not hear any of the lyrics on any song except for The Flame. I was shocked the 2 guys running the sound board failed to either reduce the volume on the instruments, or TURN RICKS MIKE UP!!! The dudes got great pipes. Don't drown him out next show!
Show was great overpriced Rick Robin and Tom sounded great I guess the hard Rock is over charging
Great sound and energy on stage. The crowd down front was standing up immediately and stayed standing for quite a few songs.
Cheap trick put on a fine display of musicianship Sunday night in Macon, Ga. Robin can still hold a tune and Rick is as talented as ever. I seemed to watch the Bass player quite a bit (he was stationed in front of me on stage) and really enjoyed his playing. The kids meshed in with the old guys and they all played their parts well. A little disappointed that they only played about 85 minutes and I would have liked to hear them do an Allman Brothers cover tribute since we were in Macon, GA.
Cheap Trick played another great show!! No opening act. The Macon auditorium is an older place located close to Cherry St and lots of places to eat and drink.
Absolutely one of the best organized and most enjoyable concerts ever attended. So glad I went!
Cheap Trick was as advertised. An awesome rock and roll band. Very deserving to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Absolutely the best cheap trick concert ever. They sounded better than I ever remembered
