About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • Cheap Trick at the Ryman!

by Fastart on 12/4/09Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

From the really cool intro, all the way to the encore, these guys kicked it! Freakin awesome! This is the 4th time I've seen them (first time in the 80's shhhh!) an i swear they get better each time. Old tunes mixed with new an even a taste of their Sgt. Pepper CD. GO see these guys, you won't regret it! You may even come away with a few guitar picks like we did :)

I have never seen Cheap Trick in concert so didn't know what to expect, and what I got was a great show and good music.

  • Cheap Trick at the Ryman = AWESOME!!

    by TJ4RocknRoll on 12/4/09Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick put on an amazing show at the Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville last night. Undoubtedly, one of the best live performances I've ever seen! The band was flawless, very entertaining, and just ROCKED! I hope they come back soon. It was a great show!

  • Sgt Pepper Live

Pleased to not have to be around too many Poison/Def Leppard fans.

  • Fixing a hole with Cheap Trick

by ColinG on 9/29/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

All of the performers and orchestra were fabulous, but Robin Zander's vocals and Tom Peterson's bass playing reminded me that these classic Beatles songs don't just exist remastered and remixed, but were originally played by 4 guys in a rock n roll band. Thanks to Cheap Trick and The Beatles for putting this event together. It may not be as popular with the masses as "LOVE" or "Rock Band' but for real Beatles fans, it was the coolest and truest.

  • 6 Violins is a Sym-phoney Orchestra

by OzzyMuzo on 9/22/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

While the SGT. PEPPER LIVE featuring CHEAP TRICK SHOW show was OK, I think it's more than a little disingenuous to advertise that they were being accompanied by a full symphony orchestra particularly after they had done the show last summer with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the advertising led one to believe it would be the same show. 6 violins, 2 voilas, 2 celli and a contrabass does not a symphony orchestra make. BTW the percussionist didn't show up so the keyboard player had to simulate the tubular bells (Tacky!). The band were great, the sym-phoney orchestra...not so much

  • Cheap Trick Rocks the Beatles

I can't remember attending a better concert. Period.

  • Beyond Outstanding

by gsands on 9/21/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Sgt. Peppers, the album that was never intended to be done live, was done live beyond my wildest dreams. Done by the only band that could ever even temporarilly be an "acceptible replacement" for the Beatles. And as is typical they surrounded themselves with support staff and special guests that are the best to be found. The heart and soul of Cheap Trick, their very reason for their being came from Rick Neilson's obsession with and love for the Beatles music. Well Done Boys!!

  • SGT PEPPER LIVE Excellence!!

by Waldo244 on 9/21/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Fantastic show!! Cheap Trick did not try to imitate the Beatles, they just let the excellent music speak for itself. The orchestra was an outstanding addition, especially on Eleanor Rigby. A great nostalgia concert for those of us who were around in the 1960's.

  • Cheap Trick performs an amazing tribute

by reviewerese on 9/20/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

This is a high energy, well-crafted tribute. I put this show on my top ten list for events I have seen over the past 40 years. Great musicianship, great vocals, great respect given for the Sgt. Pepper album.

  • sgt pepper live was terrific fun

by klingon on 9/20/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Sgt pepper kive was great fun. Cheap Trick was awesome as was Rob Laufer and Joan Osborne The music brought back memories of growing up and was enthralling. The orchestra was an extra added plus as were the guests. The venue it was in was perfect.

  • Excellent Show

by jchpianoman on 9/18/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick did an excellent job covering the Beatles Sgt Pepper with a full orchestra. All songs were played note for note just like the original, but they still put their Cheap Trick Stamp on it. Robin Zander does an great job handling all the lead vocals.

  • Sgt Pepper was Great

by rick1106 on 9/17/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great. It was performed just like it was on the album including the symphony and sitar band. It is a must see. The seating at the Hilton was OK. Stadium seating would be better. Some women complained they couldn't see the stage very well if there over the people in front of them.

  • an interesting twist

by teacie on 9/14/09Las Vegas Hilton - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

If you love Beatles music, this is the show for you. If you like Cheap Trick, bonus! However, be forwarned, there is NO Cheap Trick music in this show AT ALL. It is not a concert, it is a show. Having said that, it was well done and entertaining. The big screens for the cheap seats aren't HD, although the theater itself is not huge, so that might not be an issue for you.
