About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • Too Loud - Drowned Out Lyrics - Need a New Sound Mgr

    by Lexi on 5/19/25Route 66 Casino - AlbuquerqueRating: 3 out of 5

Could not hear one word of the lyrics! Need a better sound manager. Very disappointed in the concert.

  • Fabulous!

Excellent concert! Excellent Venue! This was my first time coming to the Mahaffey, I love it! this was my 15th Cheap Trick Concert!

  • Horrible sound

by Bob on 5/7/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

My seats were 1st row, center balcony. The sound was horrible. I'm assuming it was possibly a soundboard issue. You could not hear Zanders voice over the instruments for the majority of the show. It was better towards the end, last 15 minutes. When I could hear Zander's his voice he sounded pretty good for a 70 something musician. Cheap trick was one of my favorite bands as a youngster but would not pay to see them again based on the May 3rd performance in St. Pete.

  • Nice venue, poor sound

by Chris on 5/7/25Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St PetersburgRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was nice, reasonable drink prices. However, you couldn't hear the lyrics, have seen Cheap Trick in an outdoor venue and thought they were great, didn't enjoy this as well.

  • Great show, excellent venue, a fantastic time!

  • Enjoyable but not the best!

by Carlos M on 4/22/25McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllenRating: 3 out of 5

Doors did not open at 7 pm as advertised. So the lines to get in were very long. We waited in the car until about 8:10 when the line got short. The actual venue is nice. You can get a great view of the band from probably every seat in the venue. I was not very impressed with Cheap Trick though. I had seen them about 3 times back in the 1980's. They sounded way better back then. There was something about the sound that was off. I have seen ZZ Top and Foreigner at this venue and the sound was great. I think this had to do with their soundman. There was also a little confusion on the stage between songs. Kind of like this was their start of the concert tour.

  • Excellent

by Candice Martinez on 4/19/25Rating: 5 out of 5

Omg What a great performance During ballads I closed my eyes and took in the music. It was amazing. Reminded me of when I was younger without distractions. The days without computers , when I would listen to music ( just for the love of music) Very operatic I would highly recommend everyone to See cheap trick in concert Thanks to Cheap Trick for coming down to Deep South texas

  • Great Concert but….

by Me on 2/26/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick can def still jam but the Legends casino is a very squishy venue. I’m a petite person and I was uncomfortable both side to side and front to back. :(

  • Cheap Trick 2025

by Grammy on 2/26/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 4 out of 5

Was good overall...glad they got the sound figured out.. music started out way too loud, and then they were able to balance vocals and sounded great after.

  • Cheap Trick baby!

by SkiBum84 on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 5 out of 5

Loved this show! Robin sounded great! Rick can still rip a great solo. Just so happy to hear a band that meant a lot to me from my wasted youth in the 80's. Robin said that Cheap Trick will be touring all summer.... I might just go see them again! Not a bad seat in the house at Legend's Casino either.

  • CHEAP TRICK

by Pamela on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 5 out of 5

It was an awesome show. I was happy to see all the grey haired teenagers jamming to the songs we grew up listening to.

  • Interments to loud

by Fred O on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 1 out of 5

The instruments were to loud, and we couldn't hear the vocals. Did not enjoy at all. We left before it was over.

  • Awesome!

by Burnie on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 5 out of 5

Zander still has a great rock voice! Nielsen was entertaining! Petersson plays a mean 12 string bass. And the two sons really help the group. We sang and danced and had a great time!!!

  • Boys Still Got It

by JD on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 4 out of 5

I was not expecting Trick to be so tight but they were. Robin's voice (at 72) was spot on. Having His son playing backup guitar and vocals and Ric's son on drums made it all the better. Would not hesitate seeing them again. Thanks guys.

  • They was super amazing and fun..

by Homer on 2/25/25Legends Casino Event Center - ToppenishRating: 5 out of 5

We had a wonderful time. The room was great. The show was absolutely awesome cheap trick still doing it after all these years how great is that?

  • Was great except

by MRA22D on 2/24/25Muckleshoot Casino Events Center - AuburnRating: 4 out of 5

The rifts were awesome, instrumentals sounded fantastic but...I thought the microphones could have been dialed in a lot better. Understanding the lyrics was very hard to pick up, except maybe the last 5/6 songs you could finally make out what was being sung. I want worried about it since I know and love the music but the vocals could have been dialed in better...

  • Awesome

by Mel on 2/24/25Muckleshoot Casino Events Center - AuburnRating: 3 out of 5

Cheap Trick was Awesome. So strong, entertaining, visually stunning. The concert venue itself was great. The Muckleshoot Casino, however, due to smoke and smoking was not pleasant at all.
