About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • I loved it. Despite being very loud, it was excellent

by Nina on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 5 out of 5

They were very entertaining. Unfortunately, I really don’t know a lot of their music so I didn’t know the songs in the beginning of the show. And it was fabulous to see how everybody was enjoying the show.

  • bad

by jim on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 1 out of 5

Just awful, very bad sound, could not understand anything, even when they were just introducing the band members, I couldn't make out what was being said. it was just awful! I may have second thoughts about who I see in the future, but couldn't get any worst.

  • Sound balance was terrible

by AnAmericanFan on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 3 out of 5

We could not understand a word that Robin Zander sung. It was all muddled. This is not the first time this has happened at the Wind Creek venue. The music was too loud and was overcome by distortion in the system which is clearly not designed to handle such a decibel volume often called clipping. Don’t get me wrong, I like LOUD, but I like LOUD that is CLEAN. The band was fine, although Rick Neilson seems to have slowed down noticeably like he was having some trouble walking. Expected at that age. From what I could understand of Zander he still has the pipes. I wish that I could see them at another venue. I did listen to a few videos of Cheap Trick from other venues prior to this one. All vocals were clear and the sound was not a wall of distortion. I am not sure who does their sound, but it was either incompetence or the guy’s deaf.

  • Better than I expected.

by whmarauder on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 4 out of 5

Better acoustics in the venue than the last time I was there. Now, I was in the sixth row this time. And halfway back and to the far right last time. Cheep Trick was all I hoped for and more. I am very happy to have seen another rock n roll hall of fame inductee, before it's too late. One of the most underrated and under appreciated bands. Rick's guitar play did not disappoint. Amongst the best. Robin Zander is a legendary front man. But, my bad. I was blown away by Tom's bass playing. Great musicians. There is a reason they are as influential as they are in the music industry. A gotta see band before it's too late.

  • Just so so……

by neerod61 on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 3 out of 5

Expensive seats for a short show. They were ok. I probably wouldn’t pay to see them again. Also, I bought four tickets and the other couple backed out and left me with the tickets and Ticketmaster wouldn’t allow me to sell them, therefore, I got stuck with them.

  • Great Show!!!

by Jim1313 on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 5 out of 5

I was pleasantly surprised these old geezzers still have it and put on an amazing show!!! Robin Zander still sounds great on vocals and loved Rick Nielsen's guitar collection. He used at least 15 different guitars for the show. The whole band was awesome!!

  • Jamming with Cheap Trick

by Bryan on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 5 out of 5

Wow! What a great concert! Cheap Trick can still rock! I love this venue! Row 24 and we could still see everything, hear everyting (my ears finally stopped ringing!), be a part if everything! Cannot wait forbthe Nancy Wilson's Heart concert!

  • Love me some Cheap Trick

by Deb S on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 5 out of 5

Always glad to see CT …. The best just can’t get any better. New exit plan from wing seating is very welcomed. Thanks for having CT at Wind Creek - best venue ever for best music ever

  • Had a great time and the venue is a great place to see a con

by K. C. on 5/24/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 4 out of 5

The Venue is really nice. With leaving the event that is the one negative. You force people to go out of their way and not sure why you don't open up the tunnels.

  • An Intimate Concert

by Dimples on 5/24/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I really enjoyed this concert at SoundWaves because there were no bad seats. The band still sounded great and put on a fun show. The staff there were polite and helpful. The crowd was fun but nobody got out of hand. I would definitely see a show here again. I have see Cheap Trick several times and have always enjoyed their performances live!

  • A.C. Show

by Bobo on 5/24/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

The Cheap Trick show in Atlantic City was everything that we expected and more. The band played all of their big hits. And they delivered the goods with high energy and humor. They covered the Beatles song “Magical Mystery Tour” and it was Outstanding.

  • Great show

by ShelbyB on 5/24/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick still rocks just the same as they did when I last saw them back in 1981!! I was alittle disappointed that the show was only about an hour and 15 minutes but still a REALLY great show.. The one security guard at the Hard Rock was a complete jerk. We were hanging around, just standing in front of the stage, to see if the road crew had any guitar picks like most of them do after a show. The security guard kept telling my boyfriend and I to "get off the stage" when we were clearly 2 feet away from the stage. Such an obnoxious jerk who let alittle authority go to his head.

  • Hang it up

by TripleG on 5/24/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 1 out of 5

There were 3 songs that were ok out of the whole set

  • Awesome as Always

by Me. Henry on 5/23/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

A great show. Cheap Trick still has their fastball. The band are masters of their craft and can still put most other bands in their place whether they play their hits or deeper tracks.

  • Cheap Trick

by Joe on 5/23/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 4 out of 5

Such a great show, energetic as ever, great sound, classic hits and some new stuff mixed in. Don’t miss them if you have the chance to see them!

  • First time live

by Beth on 5/23/23Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

I thought this veteran band sounded great! They play as if they care. My only wish is that the concert had lasted a little bit longer, but I realize that that might not be feasible for performers who work 4-5 night a week going all out.

  • My favorite band. They were amazing and did a great set.

by Joe on 5/22/23NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 5 out of 5

The songs were great and the band sounded as great as ever. Definitely recommend seeing them when they come around.

  • Great Show...

by Ducman 916 on 5/22/23NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 5 out of 5

Didn't disappoint, great show great musicians and a great venue...

  • Too loud.

    by C. B. on 5/21/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Great show, way too loud for the venue. Even when just talking into the microphone, the sound is so loud its distorted. I'm in the back. If I was up front under the speakers,my ears would be ringing for weeks and I'd be deaf. Aside from outrageous volume, it's a great show.

  • Great venue, great show!

by JA on 5/21/23NYCB Theatre at Westbury - WestburyRating: 5 out of 5

Westbury is a great, intimate venue - I had the worst seats in the house and it was still a better view than in an amphitheater or stadium. As for Cheap Trick, they do a great, tight show. They get in, they rock hard, they get out - no filler or fluff.
