CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

    Fallsview is a beautiful casino and and the show was held in an acoustically solid theatre, a theatre we had trouble finding as it is across the street from the main casino building! Show was great. These guys are always a good time. Would have loved to hear a couple of classic rockers (She's Tight, If you want my Love you got it, Tonight it's you). My wife and I love watching Robin Taylor infuse youth and spirit into the set. Keep on keepin' on guys!

    90 minutes of the best of cheap trick.. sons of members chipping in to make the band stay fresh. Acoustics are great at concert hall.. tough hike for older people with disabilities however.. the venue needs to address this issue

    Not what I was expecting. For the 1st 50 minutes, band mostly played good rock (B side and new music) but not what fans were waiting for. Some fans started heckling to play what they were there for. All of the 5000 seat concert hall was sitting in their seats. It was up to the point where Cheap Trick started playing their classic hits that the audience was engaged. Rick Neilson did his best to entertain everyone with his eclectic guitar playing. I would rate 7/10 for the night.

    The show started on time. They were fantastic. They still sound the same as they did when they first started. Excellent guitar playing.The lead guitar players son was really great on the drums and also the lead singers son is a great vocalist and guitar player. A little loud at the hard rocks smaller venue(sound waves)But they still put on a fantabulous show.

    Band was awesome. They played hit after hit. No problems there, but damn was it loud. And I was sitting in back. I would definitely see them again but next time I am bringing in ear plugs. Honestly.

    My fourth time seeing this band since 1978. They were awesome back then and they are STILL delivering on stage! One of the qualities I love best about a band such as these guys, now with Daxx & Robin Jr... thousands of concerts dates over their history but yet they get it. To each ticket holder, night after night, no matter what city, they refuse to 'mail it in'. They brought it to the audience like they were trying to make an audition! Loved the energy and commitment to every song all night. Do I wish they would have expanded the playlist a bit more with deeper hits like Gonna Raise Hell or Miss Tomorrow, ...sure, but I was not disappointed in the evening at all. I had a great time!

    Time to hang up the guitar picks boys! Very lackluster, low energy and short on energy. My wife and I left after 45 minutes and they were 15 minutes late getting on stage. Windcreek is a Great venue. Felt the acoustics could have been shared a little more to the Left and Right wings. Seemed mostly concentrated to the center.

    we were in the 9th row. the people for 3 rows in front of us stood up with the first chord and did not sit for the whole show. We were on the floor, and not in the cheap seats in the back. Cheap Trick played some pretty obscure stuff in the first part of the concert, but hit their hits late in the game. They had non band members playing and singing. The big problem was the inability to see the band. We paid too much to see a concert via the monitor.

    still have the energy and sound all these years. true, maybe a little less of the hard stuff, but there are 3 original members, which bands from this era don't have.
