CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:
More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."
"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."
"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

Cheap Trick was great! The seats were excellent and the crowd was interactive
The band was great as usual, the venue was intimate so no seat was a bad seat. But when did it become uncool to get out of your seat and rock out during a concert? The band tried to get everyone up and rocking but a select few stood up and participated until the last 2 songs. Overall though a great concert
They rocked...robin zander sounds EXACTY like he did in the 80's and the group was tight and sounded great!
I like Cheap trick and had seen them last year in the same venue, Song sets were different but this most recent show did not have the best audio. Might have been where I was sitting but I was a bit disappointed with the sound. Otherwise, always a good show/
They sounded great. Our only disappointment was that it was too short of a show. They only played a little more than 1 hour!
The Rams Head is a cool venue and Cheap Trick really packed them in. They put on a pretty good show, but they're getting old and still trying to act young. Kind of sad in a way. And of course the drinks were over priced. All in all, it was a good night out, but not so cheap... We stayed at the Pier 5 Motel and had dinner at the Hard Rock. Everything was very close. If the weather had been a little warmer it would have been perfect.
What a TREAT to finally get a full-blown Cheap Trick concert after the past few summers of opening-act "quickies"! Getting to hear their new tunes played live was amazing! What's not to love about Cheap Trick?! They're the most fun you can have at a concert! Awesome band, awesome show, awesome evening!
Rams Head Live is a small venue and it was great to see Cheap Trick in such an intimate setting. They played enough classic Trick with a good mix of the stuff from their new album. The sound was a bit muddy at times and made some of Robin's vocals hard to understand. It was a shame not being able to clearly hear the full range of his wonderful voice on every note. Rick, Bun E, and Tom were classic Cheap Trick, although I missed not seeing the Rick's 6-necked guitar. Would have liked to have them to have included 1 or 2 of the Beatles covers from their Vegas show. They only played one set, about an hour and ten minutes. Over all, well worth the price of admission, but left wanting more...
Rock and roll's most under rated band sounded as great as ever last night. Last night's performance was another example of how Cheap Trick sounds as good live as they do in the studio. Robin Zander once again proved he is the best male voice in the industry. Ram's Head Live is by far the best venue to see this band, to be able to interact with members of the group from in front of the stage made for an unforgettable evening! Thank you Ram's Head for bringing my favorite venue and band together.
I saw Cheap Trick with Def Leppard last year and they were great, so I wanted to see them again. Venue is not great for a concert unless you're right up front and when it's sold out, it can be quite unpleasant. Band didn't play one of their biggest hits, The Flame, which was disappointing and considering the demographics of the crowd, they should have played more of their earlier tunes, like Voices, Gonna Raise Hell, etc..
AWESOME!!! Every time I see CT, and I've seen them A LOT, they are great!!! To top it off, they gave away their new CD!!!! How great is that!!! Northern Lights Theater is one of my fav places to see them; the atmosphere is perfect and you can see really good no matter where your seats are. I can't wait to see them again in March!!!
Loooove Cheap Trick and the show was great, but it was way too LOUD.
Great concert - new songs off of CD are classic Cheap Trick. Still nice to hear that rock and roll isn't dead
I have seen them over 100 times and they just get better!
Missed the show due to getting stuck in the snow. I am sure it was a fantastic show as Cheap Trick is an amazing band.
This band never fails to deliver. They sounded great and had fun along with the audience. Great show! Thanks Guys!! See you in March. And by the way, really great CD!
Cheap Trick played an awesome show at Potawatomi Casino on 12/9 to a sold out crowd. The set list was diverse. There was something for new fans and those of us that have been around for a while. I highly recommend seeing this band when they play in your area.
The show was awesome, but it was way too short. I wish they would have played longer.
They sounded as good as they did in the 80's. Robin's voice is like butta!!!! I never sat still for a second and their new materials rocks!!! I will go see them in March 2010 when they come back to Milwaukee!!!
This was CT's first time at Nashville's famous Ryman Auditorium, and they were clearly stoked to be there. They perfectly balanced the chestnuts with the new stuff and a few things I didn't expect. And all of them look like they have as much fun playing I Want You To Want Me as they did 30 years ago. Rick was hysterical, Robin's voice is still freakin' perfect and Bun E and Tom were still just THICK. This band should get a medal for not resting on their laurels. Yeah, they could just trot out the Budokon set in its entirety and still fill every seat, but they're still putting out great music. They may be the only 70s era band other than Deep Purple doing that. I hadn't heard The Latest, but based on the couple tunes I heard, I'm buying it tomorrow! I wish the set had been longer and I would've loved to hear Auf Wiedersehen and Southern Girls, but this was beyond the best show I've ever seen turned in by CT.
