About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

Bought 4 tickets for an entertaining evening with special friends. Turned out to be a totally disappointing evening. Concert only lasted 53 minutes! Music just had started and then it was over! Could not believe it with the price of the tickets.

Amazing concert! Best concert ever!! Great Place to see Cheap Trick since it was a small venue, which we sat at a booth, but actually stood all the time rockin with Cheap Trick!!! Robin looked amazing and sounded even better! Loved the concert and the venue. We traveled from the Southwest suburbs of Chicago to see Cheap Trick and it was well worth the trip. Cheap Trick forever!!!!!!

Man o man!!! They still sound sooooo good after all these years. I saw them in December and i liked how they switched it up a bit from that show. Robin's voice still sounds soooo smooth Rick N said it best when he said, "This is what we do!!!" And they do it soooooo well Keep Rockin Cheap Trick

  • Cheap Trick ROCKED

by Rackris on 3/4/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Having seen Cheap Trick MANY times before in concert, I can honestly say that this concert was THE BEST!!! They kicked it up a notch and rocked! Song choices were a mix from The Latest (their newest album) to Heaven Tonight. Robin's voice keeps getting better (as if it could get any better) and Rick's guitar playing is absolutely amazing to watch!

  • Cheap Trick still delivers!

by CThree on 3/4/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

After 30+ years, Cheap Trick still rocks. We like the smaller venue (they booked two nights to meet demand, even though they were just here in December). Rick Nielson talked to the audience like he knew each of us personally, and Robin Zander sang like he was still in his 20's. Great show!

The band was in top form and played a long set. They looked good and sounded great. The casino has very good acoustics and sight lines. Highly recommended

  • Too Short

    by Rooster1963 on 3/3/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 2 out of 5

Was really looking forward to seeing Cheap Trick for the first time after all these years. The band still sounds great, but the show was way too short. They have tons of hits I was looking forward to. Band and an crowd never got into it. Bummer.

  • FUN Time

Great,Great Time......To bad it did not go on longer

  • Cheap Trick was good!

    by jackman13 on 3/3/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

The band sounded great BUT I expect more than a 1 hour and 15 minute show. Styx, Reo, and Journey are playing to arenas while Cheap Trick is playing to a casino with only 400 people thats only 1 1/2 hour from their hometown. Cheap Trick needs to step it up and play longer shows and play The Flame at every show. BB King plays longer and he is in his 80's.

  • Cheap Trick still has the magic

by Carolini on 3/3/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

It was maybe my 25th time seeing Cheap Trick and it just never gets old. These guys are so in sync, they obviously are best buds and all seem to admire the others' contributions. The playlist this time was mainly made up of their top 10 biggest hits, plus three from their "The Latest" CD. One I heard for the first time in concert was "More and More I'm thinkin' 'bout Love" from the "All Shook Up" Album. More conversation between the band and the audience made it personal...great to see them in a small venue like this. The crowd was generally a bit quieter than usual, but definitely enjoying themselves. Seeing Bun E. thinner these last years and obviously very happy in his skin, even to the point of grabbing Ric's picks right off his microphone and tossing them to the crowd at the end, made it really cool. They obviously love what they do, and they should because the purity of "the band" without all the modern tweaks and voice tracks will never go out of style.

  • Trick vs The Indians

by Rodeoclown on 3/3/10Potawatomi Casino/Northern Lights Theater - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Very good show and songs that I have not heard in years and it's always fun to be at a show when former Cheap Trick band mates are in attendance. Nice facility and good seats no mater where you were at. Could the band have played longer, sure, but I was quite pleased with the songs performed and everyone received a comp CD of The Latest. If you don't have it get it! Finally, if you were that last night you heard it first, Cheap Trick is going back to Las Vegas in the Summer/Fall for more Sgt. Pepper shows.

  • Bad Experience!

by andilee5 on 2/28/10House of Blues Sunset Strip - HollywoodRating: 1 out of 5

I am a huge fan of Cheap Trick and have seen them many, many times and have been to the House of Blues many, many times and this night had to be the worst by far. At 8:30 the House of Blues parking lot was supposedly full. They weren't letting anyone park at the venue and weren't apologetic about it. I had to park down the street and around the corner for $15. By the time the show started, it was so crowded it was impossible to see. Then Cheap Trick mainly played new music with only the old sprinkled in. There were two guys who played with them which took away from Cheap Trick's signature sound. And they only played for a little over an hour. Very disappointing. I got the impression that they really weren't interested in being there and were really only playing for themselves. The reason people go to see them is to hear the music they love. Not to get acquainted with the new. Even though I live nearby, it will take a lot for me to come back to the House of Blues.
