  • Incredible vocals

by Dr. LT on 4/15/25Jo Long Theatre - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

I live the way she connected with the audience. Her pianist was extraordinary. Her tones as well as the range was magical. I hope to hear more from this artist.

  • Cecile McLorin Salvant has a voice to be heard

by Heather on 4/15/25Jo Long Theatre - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5

Cecile has such interesting life experiences and her voice reflects that. She is dynamic and soulful and an absolute delight to listen to. I'm so grateful I was able to see her live and feel the passion from her music. It was a real treat.

  • Wonderful Experience

by Jazz Lover on 4/14/25Ritz Theatre - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I bought my ticket shortly after this concert was announced, having heard Cecile many times on Sirius Real Jazz 67. The liver performance exceeded my expectations. Her repertoire and the interaction with the accompanist on piano was so enjoyable. With nary a piece of sheet music in sight, it confirmed all the best aspects of a jazz performance. It was my first time at this venue. The theater was spectacular.

  • Out of this world!

by Elli on 12/3/24Meridian Arts Centre: George Weston - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Cecile McLorin Salvant is an incredible performer! Her choice of covers and originals showcased her tremendous vocal range. In her comments between the musical pieces she was authentic, warm and down to earth. She, along with her trio (piano, bass and drums), managed to transport the audience into a realm of pure musical magic.

  • Couldn’t do it

Just not my kind of jazz. Always right on the edge. Technically proficient but not my cup of tea.

This was my first time seeing Cecile McLorin Salvant, and I hope it isn't my last! She and her fellow musicians gave a rousing performance! Outstanding musicianship! Just the right amount of interaction with the audience! I could not stop my toes from tapping during the entire event! Bravo!

  • Fabulous!

Cecile Savant is a fantastic artist! Her piano player is even more so. Great evening!

  • Good not great..

by Karkar on 1/22/24Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 3 out of 5

Cecile has an impressive range and an interesting repertoire of vocals. Her voice did not project well in the auditorium setting. Would prefer to see her in a more intimate setting. Back up musicians were fine.

  • Cecile

by Why? on 1/22/24Centennial Hall - TucsonRating: 4 out of 5

Cecile has a lovely voice, she’s quick witted and engaging but, she was not dynamic enough to be singing in that big theater, Centennial Hall. I would have preferred hearing her in a smaller club venue, like the Century Room at Hotel Congress for instance. It was difficult to hear many of her song intros because her voice did not project. Not sure if it was the sound system or her softish voice that was the problem. I have heard that the sound in that theater was poor from a local Tucson person. Also, the stage spotlight was broken for 5-10 minutes!!! Gotta give Cecile & her accompanists credit for not missing beat during the blackout. She handled it with poise and humor.
