Wonderful night as always…..until the exit of the parking…..let’s just add the cost of parking to the ticket and scan a QRL code and leave……there has to be an easier way to exit that parking…..
I'm giving it 5 stars - It was my first trip to see ballet, and I went in pretty open minded. The performance was brilliant, fantastic orchestra and wonderfully talented dancers - However, it just wasn't for me. And, was probably impacted by the amount of kids surrounding us. I had 2 different kids sat behind me kicking my chair more or less the entire way through. I asked the adult to get them to stop several times, but they weren't interested in what their kids were up to. I only mention this, because if it's someone else's first trip to see the ballet and they expect it to be more or less all adults? You'll be disappointed if you've got crying/chatting/fidgeting kids sat around you. Personally, I wouldn't be taking children to the ballet if you know they can't sit still or quietly for a couple hours.
It was FABULOUS !!! Hope I can get tickets for next years show again.
The show had just the right amount of grace, poise, humour and was beautifully executed. Highly recommend and bravo to the performers!!
Brilliant dancing, incredible choreography, incredible orchestral performance. gorgeous costumes, spectacular Canadian setting, Holy Lords and Ladies Leaping!! The cake stealing Bear stole my heart. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet dancers were astonishing. The School of Dance dancers, especially the young lady who played the little soldier Dieter who was Clara’s brother- enchanting!! Incandescent! The Snow Queen Scene, the shinny and the children making snow angels had me enraptured. I along with everyone miss the mice and rats and flowers and bees and unicorns - all the children who are hoping to dance in this magical ballet. Looking forward to seeing them next year. Front of House NAC staff were amazing. Ticketmaster my experience was top notch off the charts amazing. To connect with the dancers, tve musicians in a capacity live audience again is an experience so wl derful it is beyond words. Bravo Bravo!! Thank you!
The music and dancers were excellent. Best Nutcracker performance I have ever attended.
last week I attended a performance of the Nutcracker at the NAC in Ottawa accompanied by two Family members. The ballet was beautifully done. All of the Dancers were wonderful. The theme set in Canada Pre World War 1 is very unique. I truly enjoyed the Dancing, Sets, and most of all the Teddy Bear and adorable little Polar Bears. All accompanied by the NAC Orchestra. The event tickets were pricey but worth every penny!!!! All in all a truly wonderful experience. Everyone should see this performance at least once in their lifetime.
A superb company of dancers wo can still transport a 2017 audience accustomed to electronic entertainment to a world of beauty, love, dastardly villains, redemption and the triumph of purity. It is a orally captivating performance.
I have seen other ballets and this one was breath- taking!!! Simply awesome and beautiful. Great event for my daughter and I. Bravo bravo!!!
