This was the first time I saw Buckethead in concert and I would definitely go again.
Buckethead melted faces, as expected. The first opening act, Chaos Theory was very metal, got the blood pumping a bit, defintely good. The second act, Daddy Jones (something) wasn't very good. Killed my vibe going in to Bucket. Buckethead took a good while to hit the stage (stage was set and waiting for him for about 25 minutes) but it was definitely worth the wait.
One of the most amazing concerts i've ever been too. We are already talking about going to another state to see him again!!
This event was absolutely amazing! My fiance and I had absolutely the best time and were close enough to actually enjoy personal "communication" with Buckethead. He put on a great show. The audience was very respectful of each other and the location was superb. Thanks Buckethead for a great performance and thank you Ticketmaster for helping us get there.
Nobody does it like Buckethead. His performance was enthralling.
Loved every second of this show. The man is one of the greatest musicians of out time. He has so much soul, speed and talent. Best and loudest show I have seen.
Buckethead always puts on a good show! Nice and Loud! Showcase Live has awesome sound. The subs under the stage were knockin the hairs back on my legs. Sick background video too! What was going on with his wireless transmitter though? It kept cutting out on the high notes. He was clearly fed up with it when they swapped it out for the third time. He went hard-wired for the last couple songs. Buckethead absolutely killed it with one last massive solo but did not come out for an encore... understandable... Awesome show though! Wolff is the perfect opener for the Bucket.
Third time seeing Buckethead and he didn't disappoint, though I wish he would have played longer. Hope he comes around again soon.
Awesome show, as usual. Glad to see he is well. Wish he would play with a band sometime soon.
Buckethead has carved out his own identity among a field full of accomplished artists. He has what I would almost call a variety show as he goes from fast shredding riffs to melodic slower songs and then picks up a bass guitar and plays it better than most dedicated bass players do. I honestly don't know how his fingers hold up under all that use show after show. Then he picks up nun-chucks and gives us a glimpse into martial arts, does a very controlled and scary robot/mannequin movement sequence...and hands out Star Wars toys to the audience. There were some technical difficulties late in the show where suddenly the higher frequencies were cutting out. Buckethead stopped playing and resumed when the problem was fixed so we didn't miss any part of the show. The opening act was 'Wolff' which was Techno-Tuba...amazing one man act where he records a sound and uses saved samples to build into a full song. I expected The Borg to come out from behind the curtain and begin dancing. As for Buckethead and Wolff together- resistance is futile...you will be assimilated.
If you know the man, his music, then the show just makes it all come to life and will be something you will want to see again in the future. Showcase live has top end gear in it to get the sound out, and decent service, but the security there are a bunch of Nazi's when it comes to stopping people from taking pictures and videoing the show. Other then that is was a great time as always.
If you are someone who appreciates amazing fret-work, then you would enjoy this show! Definitely an interesting a experience!
Sound quality sucked to the point of ruining otherwise an amazing artist. The sound was overloaded, the highs were way overloaded, you could not tell anything from anything, it was just a wall of deafening noise.
I went to this concert with some friends, non of us knew what to expect. There was a brief opening act and then bucket peaked his head around the corner and everyone went wild. He came out and started playing and I was in awe. His stage presence was so unique. He played for a little over an hour and a half. Constant soloing other than the quick break he took to preform with his nun-chucks and do the robot with his giant foam fingers. Then he handed out toys to all the lucky folks in the front row and started slapping the bass to the Space Jam song. Buckethead has an epic larger than life persona, he is not just a guitarist but an icon. I left the concert feeling for filled, yet saddened that it was over. (kind of like the feeling I get after listening to "Last Train to Buckethead Land") I have been to many concerts, this was the best one by far.
This was a fantastic event. Buckethead's performance was unforgettable. Definitely an artist I would recommend. The opening performer was decent; however, the stage time allotted was a little to lengthy.
this is the third time i have seen him and he was on his A game this event. Despite a small crowd due to hurricane irene, he came out all guns blazing and played perfectly busting out a sickkk lebron, and the heavy hitters like siege engine, soothsayer, jordan, the embalmer, and more! if you ever have a chance to see him, GO!!!!! its not like he costs a whole lot and its more than ur money's worth
Amazing. Must be seen in person. Only bad thing was that there was no encore.
Never saw Buckethead before. Was disappointed that he performed w/o a durmmer and bass player. He is a jaw-dropping talent, and maybe has greater range than any guitarist I've ever heard or seen--and I'm an old man who's been going to live rock and jazz shows since the early 70's. However, live music that is transcendent requires more than talent and recorded loops. I don't regret going as I was in the presence of greatness, however, it could have been so much better--indeed, Buckethead could be creating legendary shows if he'd jam with other talented musicians.
Great show. Hope he comes back to Maine. I would recommend this show to all
I have been to a lot of shows in my life but this one will go down as one of the best. I went with a friend who has played bass in bands for 20 years and he said the exact same thing. The crowd was an odd collection to be sure but somehow it all works. As strange as it all was it was somehow exactly what I would expect from a Buckethead crowd. Buckethead has an insane amount of talent and just ranges the whole spectrum effortlessly. Clearly a showman AND performer at heart he really leaves it all out there when he is done. An encore would have been nice but perhaps that's just his way... So worth it at twice the price. Make sure you bring a friend because no one will believe it.
