  • really good at guitar

After seeing lots of online videos of buckethead I finally got a chance to see him live and it was totally worth the $60. Incredible musician with enormous talent. I would recommend anyone go see him live even if you don't know his music very well.

  • Bait and switch

by BucketFace on 5/19/25House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

I feel like House of Blues pulled a bait and switch on ticket holders. The balcony section was clearly advertised as part of the general admission section when I bought tickets on Live Nation. And that is where my friend and I planned to try and find a seat at. Then the day of the show an email from House of Blues goes out saying the "balconcy section will be closed...but we have VIP tables available....for an extra $250 a person." So ok fine, we will stand downstairs. But there were so many people downstairs that it was so congested. You could barley move freely anywhere. It took away from the good vibe.

  • Truly enjoyed the experience

Finally got to see my favorite musician, Buckethead, doing a live show and I had a great time. It was standing room only and what looked like a packed house, but I didn't mind a bit. You can really feel the love his fans have for him. He's one-of-a-kind!

Line was extremely long to get in, but very fast moving. Venue was clean and staff were kind and professional. The show itself was incredible!!!

  • First live concert with Buckethead.

by Baaron on 5/18/25Emo's Austin - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show, I've been listening to his music from the early 2000s. The place was full of die hard fans and no riff raff. Except for the Grey haired lady with the spliff. I love his slower stuff from Colma. This was a metal guitarists dream show. He did a great version of War Pigs which would make Iommi proud. The surprise was a female guitarist came out and gave Buckethead a run for his money. Truly amazing. Last name O Boyle I believe. Cool to see people with bucket hats as a sign of solidarity..lol. Had a great time. Love this guy.

This was one of the best shows I’ve ever been to! I’ve decided I’ll never miss a Buckethead show anywhere in Texas again. Fan for life!

  • Good show, but falls flat

by SexyTwin on 5/18/25House of Blues Houston - HoustonRating: 3 out of 5

The venue is good. It would have been nice for them to open up the mezzanine but by keeping everyone in one area gave the sense of more people there than there was, about 500 or less. The performance was okay. His use of props were little bit silly, but if you knew some of his history with themes of his music, well if you know you know. He did have a girl playing guitar, while he was on bass and man did she shred it. The problem was she was back in the corner and they faced each other. A moderator didn't even acknowledge who she was, but the couple of songs she played, she ripped it. His last song seemed rushed and not nearly as well played or lengthy as his recording or other live events I have seen videos of. So when he finished the show, there was about 9 minutes left on the clock. The crowd was wanting an encore, but up came the lights. I had heard that Buckethead loves his audiences and threw lots of picks and things out to the crowd, but saw none of that. The players didn't even come out to acknowledge the crown at the end of the show. If you watch a show on video from the comfort of you sofa, is much better that spending the 100 per ticket and 20 dollars per beer to see.

Let me qualify…I’m an old guy. I’m in my 50’s. I’m well beyond the point where every show that i go to is an amazing life changing experience. Mr. Head’s guitar skill is amazing. I wish I had 1/10th of his ability. Having said that, his show felt like a dude that is basically saying “I’m gonna get up on stage and entertain myself with this guitar. If you all wanna watch me, that’s cool.” If you’re into it, it works. For me, after about an hour of hearing basically the same too-long song structure repeated over and over, I was ready to go get a beer somewhere, and that’s what I did.
