About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

After attending over 20 shows in a 25 year time span, watching Bruce perform for my 11 yr. old was simply amazing. To see the show through his eys and expressions left me speechless. Bruce has not lost his ability to unite 20,000 fans . One of the best versions of Jungleland I ever heard.

E Street Band does a Grand Slam Concert !!!

by Counk on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Never been a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fan but have heard rave reviews on how powerful their concerts are. Thought it was about time to catch a live show and see what the commotion was all about. Still doubt I`ll be buying an CD`s soon but.......will see this group again for sure. Not only is the (Boss) a great musician, singer, but what a Showman....he puts every bit of energy in his body into his performance. Add the great musicians in his band and you have a winning formula. 3 hours and 20 minutes of non-stop emotion and working the crowd. No warm up act or intermission and no encore. Both Bruce and the lucky fans were utterly drained. How he can come back an do another show without weeks of rest is unbelievable!

Having seen Bruce many times in concert the only thing you can say is that it just keeps getting better..the way he connects with the huge sold out crowds..his energy..his smile that lights up the stage...and the comraderie with his EStreet band and how he genuinely cares that every fan gets their moneys worth and more, delivering a 3 hr concert that you wish would go on for 3 more hours!

Springsteen Still has his Finger on the Pulse

by williamcharles on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

I took my 17 year old daughter to the show....my sister took me to my first show in 81'. My daughter mentioned how the road construction on 95 is a permanent fixture. So, when Bruce opened the show with "Working on the Highway" i just sat back and laughed...it was as though he heard our conversation. As always, Bruce not only mixes it up....he has a reason for his opening act....the song is about a guy who gets into romantic trouble and heads down to Florida to work on 95!! Bruce gave 100% as always, and the E Street Band is so fantastic in their own right....they are perhaps the best band of all time....but they stand in Bruce's shadow....Nils was on fire, and Roy makes it look so easy. Bruce interacted with the crowd, taking their posters, and Steve and Bruce were great at the end when they motioned for people to pass posters forward. The full band of Johnny 99 brought down the house...Nils was unbelievable on that song and the interaction between the 3 guitars brought a 'in your face" sound. Bruce played Backstreets and I was hoping for a dialogue in the middle similar to what he did on the darkness tour; however, you hummed and groaned a beautiful melodic, melancholic, tune which i thought might be for Danny, but what do i know....all i know is that is who i thought about...Bruce was there for us all night.....He played Backstreets with all his heart....His powerful call at the end of Jungleland was perfect....He is different than the last tow tours....something is changed in Bruce....He is delivering his music with a new edge, and it is awesome....

    Still the "Boss"

by millieB on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

After seeing Bruce, this being my 25 time since his first concert, I must say he is still the greatest. I was not that thrilled by the selection of songs, however. I guess I am stuck on the oldies but goodies. Jungleland, Backstreets, Sherry Darling, etc. are my favorites. This would not stop me from seeing Bruce again and again.

    Springsteen is the BOSS!!!

by Pumpy on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

The event started late and the arena was very warm. But, when Bruce appeared - he more than made up for the inconvenience. This was by far the best performance I have experienced of Springsteen!!!! Non-stop music, entertainment and interaction with his audience. Each of the band members continue to perform beyond your imagination - just when you think that they can not possibily continue - they come back with more than you could imagine!!!! Truly a night to remember!!!

the show was amazing. the man can still rock on. 3 hours, and it still wasn't enough. clarence, who, by the way, is asbig of a man as you can imagine. he had trouble getting around. bad hip. hell to get old. the bad side, was when i went for a shirt, and none of the florida dates were listed....talk about a snub! thats ok, the tramps like us, born to run worked for me!

    BRUUUUUUUUUUCE!

by Chelseababe on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

A little more hard, loud rock & roll than previous tours (earplugs not a bad idea) but an unbelievably fun, fab show. Every muscle in my body aches from so much dancing and jumping. There is so much love and connection between Bruce, the band and the audience. Highly recommended and well worth the investment.

The Boss at his finest rocks the house

    by Bubba777 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

I have been to over 100 Bruce shows and this one is at the top of the list. 3 straight hours without a break. He added several songs not on the set list. He kept things fresh and upbeat and by the end of the night no one was sitting which is a surprise for Ft Lauderdale. The energy was at the highest level and He just kept it up all night long. I was totally spent when I left the arena.

    Bruce is the boss

    by Jazz1 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

The boss brought his usual angst sound and I loved that Clarence Clemmons is a hoot to watch as he shakes his old big body around.

    Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce!!!

by Asali on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

What a show!!! Bruce and the band sounded better than ever!! And how personable he was, inviting kids up to play and sing with him!! I bet they are still beaming telling their stories to their friends at school today! One complaint: The staff not being ready at 6 PM to open the doors while the rain poured down with lightening and thunder to boot!

AT 60 Bruce has not lost a beat. Hard driving non stop rock and roll. Awesome show. I have seen him over 200 times and he just gets better. Rare song alert - Bruce played "And then She Kissed Me" and "Meeting Across the RIver" . UNBELIEVABLE

    excellent

by scottlee on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

The "Boss" was great, it is ashame that the seats were not. I sat in section 410 (high up) and all I could see from there was handing lights, ropes, and cables. No where on my ticket did it state "obstructed" view. Not very nice at any price!
