About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

The Boss is the Boss....good show and great to see the E Street band together Frustrated with song selection though...could have mix more old hits, thats what most of us wanted to see. It was good nonetheless.

    Springsteen concert in Sunrise

by ACone on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Fabulous concert. Last saw him in the early 1980s. Bruce and the E Street Band played non-stop for three hours. And the band members often were spotlighted. Great mix of songs. Didn't play Born In the USA or Glory Days.

    Springsteen does not disappoint!!

by ceec on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

We have seen Sringsteen upwards of at least 50 times live, he rarely disappoints and this show was great. Excellent song choices, a little different, which is nice, but I have to say that the BankAtlantic Center has the worst acoustics I have ever experienced as far as venues go. Very muffled, and lots of echoe, horrible. I may never go back to the BankAtlantic Center again, the worst !!!! The American Airlines Arena is far superior.

    Bruce as always - Great!

by LBIman on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Non-stop for 3 hours. Hard to believe at his age and the band as well, can rock for 3 straight hours, amazing. I thought he played a wide range of songs from his huge catalog. I know it's hard to please everyone but I would of loved to have heard something from Greetings. It was a nice moment when he invited kids on to the stage to dance with him during Dancing in the Dark. I wish I brought my 11 year old. I thought the acoustics in the arena were not very good. I sat in section 409 and everything sounded muffeled. Other than that, and wanting to hear some of "my" favorities, the show was great!

    These are real musicians!!!

by Yangarin on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Bruce voice is very pleasant to hear. He rocked the house. A lot of interaction with the public. There are around 12 people in the band, all of them play excellent. I just wanted more of the popular songs like I'm on fire, Streets of Philadelphia, Dancing in the Dark, Born in the USA. They played mostly songs of the new albums. Also, the acoustic in Bank Atlantic is not so good. I've been there several times and I never been happy with the sound on that place. Overall, great concert, I recommend it. It was great to finally see a real band.

    Bruce Rocked The House!

    by Julsie691 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Bruce has the energy of a teenager! He truely loves his fans and we love him in return. He indeared me for life when he got all those kids onstage, and then when he gave the little girl his harmonica my heart melted. What a good man! Not to mention the E-Street Band brought everyone to their feet! They all looked genuinly happy to be up there giving us their all. Right up until the end we were all beaming and enjoying the show, including Bruce and the band, you could tell they didn't want to leave either. The entire show made up for the late start (due probably more to the weather than the band). And not to forget that Bruce is just as HOT as ever! Thanks Bruce and Happy Birthday!

The Boss and E Street Band were just spectacular

    by BC1055 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Wow! We did not have great seat still; they rocked the house. The energy, the presence, the interaction with the fans was beyond what I was expecting. The range of fans in age was great. It was like a family affair. Parents with their kids, young, middle age and older alike had a great show. He played for over 3hrs at 60 years of age. Amazing performance. The band was just there are no words. When he comes back, I will try to get me better seats as I am sure the experience will be 10 times better. Awesome vibrations! Great show. I can see why fans love him. I was not a great fan of his, but some many of my friends were - so I had to go and see why they were raving about. He was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bruce rocked the house!!

    by amysue1069 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

The show on September 13 was amazing. Bruce truly looked like he was just out there having fun (for 3 hours!) and his energy and enthusiasm was contagious! We danced and sang all night; the band sounded great. Highlight for my family was how great Clarence looked and sounded. He had a great night and definitely made the show!! My kids had the best time and so did I. This was my 85th show but I must admit that it ranks up there as one of more memorable shows. Bruce sang 5 songs from Born to Run, with Jungleland being a big highlight for us. Plus Backstreets is always great to hear! Just an all around fabulous evening, even if our huge tailgate party got rained out!!

After attending over 20 shows in a 25 year time span, watching Bruce perform for my 11 yr. old was simply amazing. To see the show through his eys and expressions left me speechless. Bruce has not lost his ability to unite 20,000 fans . One of the best versions of Jungleland I ever heard.

E Street Band does a Grand Slam Concert !!!

by Counk on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Never been a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fan but have heard rave reviews on how powerful their concerts are. Thought it was about time to catch a live show and see what the commotion was all about. Still doubt I`ll be buying an CD`s soon but.......will see this group again for sure. Not only is the (Boss) a great musician, singer, but what a Showman....he puts every bit of energy in his body into his performance. Add the great musicians in his band and you have a winning formula. 3 hours and 20 minutes of non-stop emotion and working the crowd. No warm up act or intermission and no encore. Both Bruce and the lucky fans were utterly drained. How he can come back an do another show without weeks of rest is unbelievable!

by debpompanobeach on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Having seen Bruce many times in concert the only thing you can say is that it just keeps getting better..the way he connects with the huge sold out crowds..his energy..his smile that lights up the stage...and the comraderie with his EStreet band and how he genuinely cares that every fan gets their moneys worth and more, delivering a 3 hr concert that you wish would go on for 3 more hours!
