About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

    Springsteen Was The Boss!

by StevenBernard on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Great show: They played all of the crowd favorites: Badlands, Jungleland, Born To Run, Sherry Darling. He opened with a great version of "Working on the Highway," that totally rocked. His band is fantastic. Each is just a tremendous musician in his own right. Max Weinberg was fast and flawless, with just incredible. Stevie Van Zandt is such a great showman. I love it when he steps up to the mic to sign along with Bruce. Clarence is not called the Big Man for nothing. He always delivers on his solos. Nils Loftgren is one of the finest guitar players you'll ever get to watch. I loved their renditions of The Rising and Lonesome Day. And Bruce is such a fantastic lead guitarist and singer. I wished his intros of the band members was longer. He only did a couple. Great show, tremendous floor seats, a fantastic experience.

Spingsteen is still the @!#*@! Boss!

by EJBrownie on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Bruce came out on stage I said to myself I can't beleive I am here. An hour later and again and hour later I said the same thing. Springsteen is the hardest working man in Rock. He played hard for the whole concert. Gut rockin the whole time it was awesome. I had a chance to see the USA tour back in the 80's I did not make it. So to finally see the man in action was pure rock. Springsteen as a man also was shown by how he handle the crowd. Working with the kids and his plee for giving to the poor made me proud to be an american. I would recomend the exsperience to anyone. Clarience and Steve were the bomb.

    Bruce is the man

    by 1953boomer on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

seeing bruce and the band for the last 33 years every tour he never lets the audience down or leave without an amazing show and great memories. the sound started out questionable but the arena acoustics are not always the best. in spite of that he always rises to the occasion and after 3 hours he had fans dancing and singing their hearts out. he gets under your skin and moves you in the best possible way, and when he plays old time favorites there's electricity in the air.

It is hard to believe the Boss is turning 60 years old this month. Bruce out performs artists half his age. It was a great energy show, the crowd was on their feet for the entire 3 hour event and his vocals are better then ever. BRUUUUUCE WAS AWESOME. PLEASE COME TO SOUTH FLORIDA AGAIN.

Three solid hours of pure, non stop rock and roll bliss, with a ton of his oldies thrown in for good measure amidst a smidgen of current. Thoroughly exhilerating.

    Springsteen Is Better Than Ever!

by Kayli on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Springsteen and the E-Street band have never been better. They did not stop, one song blended into another beautifully. His spirit just pours into those songs, the energy was amazing. He really is one of America's finest poets and musicians. These people are in their late fifties and sixties and played their hearts out for 3 1/2 hours. More than a concert, it was a religious experience. I can't say enough about the Working On A Dream Tour! Thanks, Bruce and E-Street for a wonderful night I'll never forget!

Springstein should keep apppointment with fans

    by Tickedoff2 on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

Last night convinced me that I''m too old now for concerts, even the Boss. Showtime on the ticket read "7:30"...could have lived with 8:00, but by 8:30 on a Sunday night when I was already there 2 hours didn't cut it for me. We're not talking Friday/Saturday night, when it doesn't matter what the time is. If there were technical problems resulting in the delay, it might have been nice for someone to say. That's the trouble with concerts today, there's only one headliner. They have to wait for the hall to fill up before starting their performance. Apparently, the "Boss" doesn't know S FL audiences - THEY NEVER SHOW UP ON TIME FOR ANYTHING!! With an opening act, the crowd might show up on time since they wouldn't know what time the headliner comes on! It would have been really special if the show started on time, even within 30 minutes, so I could have bragged about seeing what those who couldn't be on time missed! Instead, it was a night of disappointment.

All positve GREAT SHOW except: show time was 7:30 no Bruce until 8: 30 and ...suggestion in general for Bruce and Bank Atlantic Center: there is a REAL need for a senior citizen area. ( I brought my parents to the show, ages 79 and 76,they loved it too!

The concert was 3 full hours of constant music. The energy level was amazing. The E Steet Band was terrific. The acoustics of the Bank Atlantic Center outstanding and all seats are good. Only problem was it started an hour late.

    awesome energy relentless passion

by pagz on 9/14/09BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise

The passion Bruce has for his music is unwavering from today to yesteryear. He committed to every song as if it was the first time he sang it and you believed in his content after all these years. A true pro! The one down side was the sound. The music sometimes drowned out the lyrics. I think that Bruce is a rock poet much like Bob and Neil. The music should accompany his voice, not direct it. A little more drum a little less guitar/piano/organ/violin volume. The sax was perfect, sound wise. 3 hours and the last 1/2 hour made you yearn for more. High spirited, warm and very crowd friendly as he sifted through several cardboard signs from the audience and played those tunes impromptu. Several children got lifted up on stage to dance and rock with the Boss. His selection was definately "new concept country music." Romance and working class music. A reminder to what we all felt passionately about growing up and still harbor in the recesse of our minds today. A rock and roll vacation even if only for a night. Thank you BOSS!!!!
