  • Bruce was amazing and great- Venue SUCKS

by david on 10/6/259:30 CLUB - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Got there at 6 and stood in line until 7. Weather was amazing and standing was not a problem. went in and looked downstairs. Could have stood front of stage but thought there might be somewhere to sit upstairs. Found rock hard cement with three levels. We sat on second level next to a roped off area. Band started at 8:30 ( 1 1/2 hour wait) - not a problem- Nothing else to do. Bruce came on around 9:30 and crowd arrived. they filled the steps in front of us so I got a great view of thee first third of the crowd. And combined with a hard slab upon which to sit, I was dissatisfied. Even as Bruce go revved up, I told my wife I'd like to go home and put a Bruce Hornsby video on the television and let her sit on a cinder block and block the TV video with boxes that move around and combine that with lots of conversation - and the best part would be I'll only charge her $50. Needless to say, while I love live music, there are lots of other venues to appreciate great artists.

  • Great Show!

Both Eggy and Bruce Hornsby and the noisemakers were fantastic! They had great joy on stage and sounded terrific. Speaking of sound, the sound in the 930 club is superb.

  • Underwhelming

Disappointing show. Bad sound mixing and the venue did not lend itself to the type of show he played. Frequently, buzz from the crowd overwhelmed the music.

  • Very Enjoyable

by JW, Cleveland, OH on 10/12/24Goodyear Theater - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

Second time seeing Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers, first in Savannah in 2022, then this show October 2024. Love that Bruce is still making new music and being featured in shows like The Bear and others. Improvisation is unmatched and so fun to watch the collaboration among the musicians. Happy to see younger audience members enjoying this experience as well, since Bruce never just "regurgitates the hits". Great show!

  • Bruce Hornsby is always a yes for us!

by tgirl on 10/11/24Goodyear Theater - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

The theater was packed and the crowd was in awe. I like regular concerts, but a Bruce Hornsby concert is always unpredictable in a wonderful way. The whole group is having fun, maybe Bruce most of all, and it shines right through. Any chance we get, we will take it!

The concert was great. Ticketmaster, not so much. The ap did not work in the theater and did NOT recognize my new password (on the internet)... it should've been lots easier to show my tickets.

  • Amazing Musicians. No Nostalgia.

    by Steadfast60 on 10/11/24Goodyear Theater - AkronRating: 3 out of 5

Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers are fabulous musicians. I really appreciate their artistry and talent. For me, that was enough to carry me through about 30 minutes of a two hour show. I go to hear bands that I’ve loved in order to hear and relive songs that I’ve loved, and I want to hear them the way I first heard them. I wasn’t a fan of the songs being “reimagined.”

  • Amazing night

Always incredible show by Bruce and his talented band members.

  • Heaven & Hell

by Ugh on 10/4/24Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red BankRating: 2 out of 5

Edie Brickell with her bandmates in Heavy Makeup were pure joy. After the first three minutes, the sound became balanced and crystal clear. The music--and lyrics--were rapturous, a beautiful jazzy dream. Then came Bruce Hornsby and the Noisemakers. Bruce and his band, as you would expect, all seemed to be phenomenal musicians--but the house sound was terrible. The mix was muddy and way too loud. Bruce's vocals were almost nonexistent. This was the first show my wife and I walked out on in many, many years. Big disappointment. Won't go back to the Count Basie Theater. Sorry. I hate to complain, but maybe this review will help future shows. Six stars for Edie; one for the headliners.
