ADAM SAVAGE & MICHAEL STEVENS BRING YOU

BRAIN CANDY LIVE

It’s what your mind is hungry for…

Adam Savage, one of television's most loved personalities, has joined forces with Michael Stevens, one of YouTube's biggest stars and they're coming to a theater near you. They’re bringing along more than three tons of their crazy toys, incredible tools and mind-blowing demonstrations for a celebration of curiosity that’s an interactive, hands-on, minds-on theatrical experience like no other.

Brain Candy Live has been described as "A cross between TED Talks and the Blue Man Group."  Savage and Stevens can’t wait to unleash their collective sense of wonder, curiosity and fun and they’re inviting you and your friends and family to join-in and get your minds messy. Adam and Michael’s Brain Candy Live experience is like a two-hour play date with Walt Disney, Willy Wonka and Albert Einstein.

Ask yourself, "Is it possible to 3D print a human - live onstage? Can you slow down the effects of gravity with something we throw away every day? What happens if everyone on earth jumps in the air at exactly the same time? Can anyone bottle-up a magical invisible substance and use it to power a rocket?" Discover all this and more as Adam and Michael entertainingly answer questions, question answers and talk Mother Nature into doing some things she’s never done before!

Smart is the new superpower and two of this planet's most entertaining everyday heroes are coming to your town to rescue you and your family from boredom. Join them as they use their secret recipe of fun, surprise, excitement (and just a pinch of danger) to cook-up and deliver a giant batch of magical Brain Candy to every mind in the audience.

    Rather simple science

by DobbysMom on 4/10/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Guess I was expecting more from these two guys. It was a cure show if you have kids under 12 but would not recommend to adults or college aged groups.

An excellent and creative series of physics demonstrations, with intertaining patter to explain it all.

Need more events or visits to the area

by Childinside on 4/9/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

It was so entertaining, upbeat and original. I do nothing I could suggest anything except maybe a little help with the jokes... thank you for doing what you do... They kids love the ping pong balls. That is such a wonderful touch. Maybe more ping pong balls. I remember the best part to this day( I am 65) something captain kangaroo did. It still puts a smile on my face. It was when the rabbit would make the ping pong balls fall all over him. I bet the kids would love to see that happen..

    A wonderful introduction to SCIENCE

by PositonicWater on 4/8/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Definitely designed as a family event. As an adult, I was already aware of the majority (though not all!) of the concepts demonstrated. But what demonstrations they were!

    Entertaining

by onevim on 4/8/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Scientists, engineers, tinkerers and innovators are not the most entertaining people in the world. Nonetheless, we need more of them in the world. So, support these guys in their pursuit to inspire and educate the current and next generation of humans. Without this kind of show, we are all doomed as a species.

Not up to Adam's usual standards

by SLK50 on 4/8/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

For a two hour show there was a lot of filler. The content that they did have was decent but not great- except for the air zookas. Those were a lot of fun and they could have shot several more vapor rings out over the audience. This is probably best enjoyed by 3rd thru 8th graders.

    Disappointingly simplistic

by Anonymous on 4/8/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Firstly, I love Adam and Michael; I can't get enough of Tested and Vsauce. That said, I was very disappointed by how simplistic the show was. I can sympathize with them in how hard it must be to create a hands-on demonstration-based stage show that appeals to a wide age range, but whether or not my expectations were reasonable, I definitely expected much more depth and profundity than an elementary/freshmen level presentation. There was little that even approached the depth/detail of a Tested video or the depth/complexity of a Vsauce video. There was an off-hand comparison made near the start of the show to TED Talks, but it's clear that TED Talks (or Vsauce videos) delve orders of magnitude deeper into ideas/issues via PowerPoint-style slides than a visual hands-on demonstration-based stage show like this allows. Ultimately, there was little I learned from this show that I imagine your average adult fan of either of them (of which I unabashedly count myself) wouldn't already know and have seen at least a video demonstration of before. The only truly positive thing I can take away from this is getting to see Adam and Michael in-person. As someone who watches YouTube entirely in place of TV, this is the first time I've ever seen anyone in-person that I first saw online (or on a screen, for that matter). Overall, I view this as a very entertaining/engaging and science-promoting kids' show. For someone older (29, in my case) who's even remotely interested in science-based content, this show is a disappointment.

    Science is Fun

by BW160 on 4/8/17Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I took the niece (13) and nephew (11) to the show they like science thought it would be fun. It was and we all learned something. The things they did on stage were amazing. The second half of the show was a little slower, and not as engaging as the first half. We sat next to a super exuberant kid, a little loud and excited, but it was fine.Overall fun for everyone.

Brain Candy Live was AMAZING & AWESOME

    by TwinParents4 on 4/5/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

I knew when I purchased the tickets for my husband & I for a much needed date night that we wouldn't be disappointed. We watch Michael on VSauce all of the time & we watched Myth Busters when it was aired. What I didn't expect was how amazing beyond my imagination it would be to actually be there and experience it live! I hope that they will do another tour here & look forward to seeing them again either together again or even separate events!!!!

    Great Show

    by Venom913 on 4/5/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

This show was great. It explained a lot about science and principles that my son was interested in. It had some great stage experiments and got the crowd involved. I would go see it again if it were to come back into town. My son enjoyed it as well and really reinforced his love of science.

great evening, with many fun moments, but more family friendly than I'd liked and tailored to a broader, general audience than I expected. But great nonetheless.

    Phenomenal

    by Larkin925 on 4/4/17Centennial Hall - Tucson

Educational and incredibly fun- these guys are high energy and amazing- my 14 year old is a science kid and he was still buzzing about it the next day- not only was it fun (and that's coming from me who is not a science person) but I really appreciated that they took the time to answer audience questions and had some inspiring words that really resonated with my son. Just phenomenal. Thanks Adam and Michael!

    An OK show

by Dsauce on 4/3/17Robinson Performance Hall - Little Rock

Was expecting a more extravagant show. Good for kids, dull for adults. Not as many experiments as I would have liked. Repetitive throughout. Would be better suited in school assemblies rather than high priced tickets.

    Michael and Adam nailed it!

by SheebaBeeba on 3/31/17Robinson Performance Hall - Little Rock

I have been a Vsauce fan for years and he's taught me so much. He makes science fun. Adam Savage is a legend! Those two minds together on stage made for a mind blowing show. Loved their on stage humor too!

I have loved Adam since I was a teenager, and seeing him in person was just as amazing as I hoped. Adding Michael was a super plus!

This show was geared towards kids and they liked it. Somewhat entertaining but the "science" information was at middle school level at most. The performers should have a meet and greet to justify the cost of tickets. Robinson Center was a disappointment as far as seating. With the remodeling they should have raised the graduated seating. The view of center stage was completely blocked by the person in front of me.
