  • Brad Mehldau at the Orpheum Theater

    by Raul63 on 4/6/25Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Great jazz concert at The Orpheum Theater with Brad Mehldau on piano, Christian McBride on bass, and Marcus Gilmore on drums. The crowd was both enthusiastic and respectful of the performers while they were playing the music. Overall a great jazz concert!

Seeing the debut of this trio was fantastic. All such masters at their instruments and clearly loving playing together.

It was more than amazing and I loved it so much. Does anybody know a song name of the first encore? I would definitely go his show again.

  • Brad Mehldau, '3 Pieces After Bach'

    by PL716 on 3/13/17Royce Hall - UCLA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

I've been a fan of jazz pianist Brad Mehldau for a long time. When I saw he was performing at UCLA's Royce Hall, I had to see it. Not being a classical music fan, I didn't know what to expect with '3 Pieces After Bach', but I knew I'd enjoy it. Brad did not disappoint. The works were inspired by Bach, but they were 100% Mehldau. The audience enjoyed it immensely as well, calling him back for 2 encores.

  • Brad Mehldau was amazing!

by SlamDogMillionaire on 12/12/14Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

The Brad Mehldau trio was one of the best performances I had ever seen. I could have easily called it a night after that. My life is forever changed in a good way. The Bad Plus sounded like spoiled children that night. But I usually like them too.

  • Mehldau and the Bad Plus

by AkaFlaco on 12/9/14Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 4 out of 5

Virtuoso musicians in top form: 6 awkward white guys play jazz, banter awkwardly (think Jim Parsons in Big Bang Theory), but play beautiful music. It was a great show in a beautiful venue. The audience was about 75% male, which i thought was odd -- never noticed that at a concert before.

  • Add Trio to Bucket List

by jazzguyinLA on 12/9/14Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

Finally caught the trio last Friday at CSUN. Words do not begin to describe the artistry these three gentlemen exhibit. Very high level (think Jarrett Trio), perfect dynamics (well played Mr. Ballard!), highly communicative (can tell they've been playing together for very long time). If you get an opportunity to see them, by all means GO!!!

  • Mehldau brilliant!!

    by Momar2 on 4/14/14Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

You can always count on an excellent performance by the Brad Mehldau Trio. All three musicians are top notch talents! I was disappointed that this was not a sell-out…come on, Atlanta!!
