About

Active for nearly 40 years, Boston’s combination of hard progressive rock, phenomenal guitar work, and soaring vocals is still as riveting and relevant as ever.  In 2013, the acclaimed rockers dropped their sixth studio album – and first since the death of lead singer Brad Delp in 2007  – Life, Love & Hope. Delp sings on a handful of the tracks, while several other vocalists fill out the rest of the album. 2012 saw the band touring for ticket holders across the country, performing fan-favorite songs from their hit-filled back catalogue.

Boston’s self-titled debut album came out in 1976, catapulting the band to stardom with the smash singles “Long Time,” “More Than a Feeling,” and “Peace of Mind,” remaining on the Billboard charts for an astonishing 132 weeks and becoming the best-selling debut album in US history. After opening concerts for Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, and Foghat, Boston charted its own headlining tour and became the first band to play Madison Square Garden in their New York City debut. Their second album Don’t Look Back came out in 1978 and sold over seven million copies, with its title track reaching No. 4 on the charts. Boston’s third album Third Stage came out in 1986, expanding their sound with electronic drum samples, and remained the No. 1 album for four weeks on the strength of top 20 singles “Amanda,” “Can’tcha Say” and “We’re Ready.” 1994’s platinum-selling Walk On followed, as well as 2002’s Corporate America.

    Jett Flies; Boston Dies

by Scooter511 on 7/26/17Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh

Joan Jett gave her all and rocked the joint. A true professional. Lead singer of Boston was atrocious- Lazy, uninspiring and not motivated. Looked like he had just got out of bed and didn't want to use his "outside" voice. He ruined the Boston set and we left 4 songs in. Ugh!

by VaBeachLady on 7/26/17Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach - Virginia Beach

Really enjoyed the Joan Jett and Boston concert. They both really got the crowd going and singing all their great hits. Boston was awesome and they played right up to the last possible second. Sounded great and the show was fantastic.

Boston knows how to rock a theater

by Baldgolfer on 7/25/17Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I've been a Casual Boston fan since the 80's. Never had the opportunity to see them live until 2017. Easily a top three show for classic rock bands. Outstanding music, stage presence and nostalgia. Can't wait to see them again

    Joan Jett/Boston Rocked!

by Timan on 7/25/17Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Both bands pulled out their best material and delivered with a high energy, double concert. Plenty of bang for the buck.

    Boston/Joan Jett

by Virility on 7/25/17Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

I am a huge Boston fan, and I will see them any time I can, but I am frustrated that they don't play all of the songs on the first album, while playing close to 45 minutes of jams, and stuff from the new album, that no one wants to hear. Joan Jett was excellent, and a great opener to the main act.

Hyper Space Tour Boston w/ Joan Jett & Blackhearts

by Gigglz411 on 7/25/17Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were amazing, words can't properly describe how fantastic they were!! Boston was also great, the new singer's voice is a very close match to the original singer Brad Delp. So cool to hear them play. The venue, Toyota Oakdale Theater was awesome, I highly recommend seeing a show there. It's a smaller theater and there is not a bad seat in the house. The staff was very professional and super friendly and helpful. Loved that place and will return!!

    Boston concert finally experienced live!

by Julykid on 7/25/17Toyota Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford

Well, this was a memorable first time seeing Boston, one of my favorite recording rock artists of all time. Tom Scholz (and his energetic support band) was amazing to see live and the stage presentation was groundbreaking. Great music, moving in every aspect. A bucket list item crossed off after 40 years. Joan Jett did a terrific job opening with her set of tunes as well.

    Well worth it

by Mikeytron on 7/23/17Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre - Chicago, IL - Tinley Park

Joan Jett was only on for 45 minutes but I had seen her many times before. Little did I know Boston would be on for high power fro over 2 hours. High energy. So good! Excellent light show and great venue. One of my all time best concerts!

    Boston & Joan Jett Incredible!

    by weathernut54 on 7/22/17Verizon Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

The show was absolutely breath-taking, literally. Boston blended one song into another in such a fast pace the crowd was literally spent at the end. It was AMAZING! Tom Scholz has lost nothing with age. He did things on the guitar that would have shamed other guitar legends. That's to say nothing of his keyboard skills. Stunning! Seeing Boston was a bucket list line for me; and now at 62 years old, I can say I can't wait to "do it again"! Joan Jett also performed an incredible opening act set. She still has the pipes for a great concert and proved she belonged in the RRHOF. Just wish she had played longer than 45 minutes.

    Joan Jett as expected

    by jamie5594 on 7/22/17Verizon Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were phenominal, as usual. This band is tight. This is 3rd time I have seen them and they never disappoint. They are worth the price of admission. Boston, on the other hand, either has a bad sound board or they are a poor set of musicians. Coulnt hear the singer, guitars too load. They were bad. We left after Peace of Mind, which was the only decent song we heard.

Almost as good as 1977 show!

    by Jollyman22 on 7/22/17Verizon Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

Tom Sholtz has put together an amazing group to continue the Boston legacy. Great sound and lights. Only nit pick is the venue needs a way to move air around in the front sections. It's hot in GA in the summer and it got very uncomfortable. Thatvsaid, it was a great show, can't wait till next year!

Boston puts on an amazing live show!

    by Jbsure1 on 7/22/17Verizon Amphitheatre - Alpharetta

I took my 9 year old to see Boston for his first time. At 9 he is already a rock show veteran having been to about 10 shows. He and I were both extremely impressed with the sound and the show. He stated that after seeing Boston they are now his second favorite band. He commented that their sound live was almost equal to the studio albums. That says a lot for a band that is as well produced in the studio as Boston.

Boston was awesome.. Joan Jett as well

    by T2017B on 7/21/17TD Garden - Boston

I saw Boston 30 years ago, has been a "long tiime" . There are obviously new faces in the band . Singer Tommy Decarlo was amazing... filling arguably the biggest shoes in rock and roll voices . Tom Sholz still sounds as great as ever. I loved it. Joan Jett is a good an opening act as they come.. she really gets the crowd going and sounds as good as ever .

    Joan Jett was great!

    by bostonu2fan on 7/19/17TD Garden - Boston

Loved Joan Jett. Boston was good but felt as if there was way too much time spent on guitar solo. Show didn't grab me like JJ did.
