About

Active for nearly 40 years, Boston’s combination of hard progressive rock, phenomenal guitar work, and soaring vocals is still as riveting and relevant as ever.  In 2013, the acclaimed rockers dropped their sixth studio album – and first since the death of lead singer Brad Delp in 2007  – Life, Love & Hope. Delp sings on a handful of the tracks, while several other vocalists fill out the rest of the album. 2012 saw the band touring for ticket holders across the country, performing fan-favorite songs from their hit-filled back catalogue.

Boston’s self-titled debut album came out in 1976, catapulting the band to stardom with the smash singles “Long Time,” “More Than a Feeling,” and “Peace of Mind,” remaining on the Billboard charts for an astonishing 132 weeks and becoming the best-selling debut album in US history. After opening concerts for Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, and Foghat, Boston charted its own headlining tour and became the first band to play Madison Square Garden in their New York City debut. Their second album Don’t Look Back came out in 1978 and sold over seven million copies, with its title track reaching No. 4 on the charts. Boston’s third album Third Stage came out in 1986, expanding their sound with electronic drum samples, and remained the No. 1 album for four weeks on the strength of top 20 singles “Amanda,” “Can’tcha Say” and “We’re Ready.” 1994’s platinum-selling Walk On followed, as well as 2002’s Corporate America.

Go, if only to see Joan Jett!

    by Exit18 on 7/17/17TD Garden - Boston

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were excellent. The band sounded tight, the setlist was arranged nicely so there were a few lesser known songs sprinkled in at the appropriate times. This woman still has that strong rocking voice, sounding the same as she did when she first started. Well worth seeing. Boston was alright but could have been better. For instance, some instruments were much louder than others so at times they sounded a little wonky and a bit out of time but I'd say it's worth it to see them once. However, the surprise of the night was definitely Joan Jett!

Great Combo: Boston and Joan Jett!

by SailingDan on 7/17/17TD Garden - Boston

Joan Jett was really good but they didn’t show the band on the big screens to see them close up. Boston initially had a lackluster sound but they gradually amped it up as the night went on. Joan Jett played about 45 minutes while Boston was almost 2 hours!

    by lt56 on 7/17/17TD Garden - Boston

Awesome show, Joan Jett brings a high energy level to her performance, and Boston sounds truest to their records then any other band I have seen, outstanding musician ship and out of this world vocals.

    Terrible sound

    by MarshallheadJcm2k on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

I really wanted to see and here Boston as Tom is amazing. I enjoyed Joan Jett. Her sound sound and enthusiasm was great. Boston on the other hand was a major let down. The sound and excitement of the band was just not there. Tom's guitar and the rest of the bands sound seemed compressed and muddy. It lacked presence, clarity and volume. Tom's guitar was the worst. At certain we struggled to even hear it. Finally near the end we heard it a bit better but the sound the rest of the night was terrible.

    Boston w/ Joan Jett

    by PromisedLand63 on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

I've always wanted to see Boston in concert and glad I got the chance - great performance, although there was a little too much instrumental music for my taste, and I wish there was more than one encore (how could you not end with "Let Me Take You Home Tonight"?). But overall I really enjoyed it. And Joan Jett was better than expected - I wasn't really a fan, but I was very impressed.

    Excellant

    by JoanjettBoston123 on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

Boston played non stop from the beginning. They did the big hits as well as songs I did not know. This was the first concert I have been able to attend in many years. I am very glad that I was able to be there with my son!

    Not so good

    by Bosfan22 on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

Joan Jett was great. Boston not so good. Lead singer is not a performer. Basically walked around and just sang no movement.

Joan Jett rocked the stage! Looks like she hasn't aged one bit. Boston sang all their hits plus some. One of the best concerts I've seen. No expectations allows for a great show!

    Old favourites

by Jannyrocks on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

Joan Jett is still going strong at 58, she put on a great show, and sounded fabulous. Boston also put on a great show, my favourites were the old classic songs, if I have any criticism it's that there was too much jamming and too many new songs that the audience hadn't heard of and the audience pretty much fell asleep during these times, although it was nice to hear, I think we just wanted to hear the old stuff.

    Boston Can Not Be Beat!

by LarryFlippo on 7/16/17TD Garden - Boston

After this 9th show since 1978, even though I DO miss the original line-up (apart from Tom), I have to say all these guys are Great, the show is incomparable, and with Tom's Rockman Sound, it becomes more and more clear that Boston is the number 1 Rock and Roll Band!
