Boston Calling Music Festival is an annual arts and entertainment event that is held on Memorial Day weekend. Starting in 2013 and previously occurring twice a year, the now three-day festival hosts a diverse lineup of musicians and comedians along with local food vendors and visual art installations. Boston Calling began taking place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in the city’s Allston neighborhood in 2017. Co-curated by The National’s Aaron Dessner and produced by the Boston-based Crash Line Productions, previous headliners have included Foo Fighters, Metallica, Eminem, Paramore, Kendrick Lamar and Sia. In 2024, the 13th edition of Boston Calling will take place from May 24 to 26 with headliners Ed Sheeran, Tyler Childers and The Killers.

I only went on Saturday and even though the weather was bad (it was freezing cold!), the atmosphere at the festival was amazing! Luckily, after 8:30pm the weather also got a bit better and Fun's concert was the highlight of the day!

by kiki6gun on 5/27/13Boston City Hall Plaza - Boston

aside from the amazing line-up, the sound quality was phenomenal. and the punctuality of performances left no long wait in between acts. one band after the other after the other made the days flow into the nights beautifully. looking forward to the next one!

This was an amazing event. So many great bands on the line-up and everything we could have asked for. The rain sucked, but we still rocked out. Please keep these events coming!

Great First Shot for the Boston Calling Festival

by Anonymous on 5/27/13Boston City Hall Plaza - Boston

The music was fantastic and the balance between the two stages were great. A fantastic show that everyone enjoyed. Signage and communication could of been better, but they learned on the go. Cannot wait for September.

Matt & Kim were incredible! Great selection of good stands and the beer garden was cool. They even gave out free ponchos due to the terrible weather.

Small cramped space for a music festival, almost impossible to switch between stages for different acts. Beer garden on sides makes things more complicated than they need to be.

    Amazing

by Mar737 on 5/27/13Boston City Hall Plaza - Boston

With that about 20k people there, there was no way you'd not meet some amazing ones. So on top of the great music there was an amazing crowd. I loved all the bands, so it must've been a given that I'd enjoy myself there, but if I had to pick a favorite it'd be Matt and Kim. The rain didn't even ruin my day, that's how awesome it had to have been for everyone to ignore the crappy weather. Can't wait for September.

Overall the two day event was pretty amazing for a first time concert-goer like myself. The second day was not as good as the first but was still pretty decent due to the performances by Ra Ra Riot and Of Monsters and Men.
