About

Bluesy singer/songwriter Bonnie Raitt has worked long and hard for her multiple Grammy Awards, hit singles and chart-topping records. Since her 1971 eponymous debut, the California-born performer and long-time activist has steadily maintained a music career, albeit with definite peaks and valleys. The red-headed songstress, one of the only women of her time to play guitar using the bottleneck technique, unleashed seven albums in just nine years, though her big commercial break came with her 10th studio set, 1989’s “Nick of Time.” That 11-track collection, produced by Don Was, earned three Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.

Not only has the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer tackled multiple U.S. tours and international runs, but she’s also a frequent participant in events of social activism, such as Farm Aid and Amnesty International concerts.

Raitt’s 16th full-length album and most recent studio release, “Slipstream,” hit retailers in 2012. Not only did ticket sales for the support tour soar, but Raitt also landed the best-selling blues album of the year and took home the Grammy for Best Americana Album.

  • Bonnie in la vista amphitheater

by de on 9/28/25The Astro Amphitheater - La VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Beautiful weather. Black folding chairs were not that comfortable but they were all right. They were kind of too close together. Had drinks and concessions. It's a beautiful venue and the sound was really good. You could actually hear the words she was singing. Thank you Bonnie

Bonnie Raitt delivered a brilliant show. Her playing and singing was absolutely outstanding. Her band definitely consists of top notch professional musicians. Together, they provided some memorable music. Bonnie is personable and makes sure everyone has a great time. Jimmy Vaughan and his band were fun also . Loved the horns they brought to the show. I’m so glad I got to see and hear Bonnie Raitt again.

Seeing Bonnie Raitt live has been my dream for a long time. She totally lived up to my expectations! She did some new tunes as well as my old favorites and she still has that powerful earthy voice, bluesy guitar playing and emotional energy that make her so fabulous. Backup band was also great. The Jimmy Vaughn portion was another great experience and I loved seeing them together. Great job also by the Astro Amphitheater. Excellent sound quality and fun venue.

  • Bonnie Raitt Still Rocks!

by Oscarsmom on 9/26/25The Astro Amphitheater - La VistaRating: 5 out of 5

Astro Ampitheater hosted Raitt outdoors on a lovely fall evening- yet another wonderful Bonnie Raitt performance! Her rapport with her audience is heartfelt, she continues to sellout for many reasons! Sang new and old originals as well as nodding to John Prine. Jimmy Vaughan was on the front end of the show, at end they performed together. Absolutely amazing show!

After more than 50 years of playing guitar and singing tunes for strangers, one can see Bonnie loves playing live. And we love her. Thanks to her wonderful band and Jimmy Vaughn for a great evening under the stars. “Your sweet and shiny eyes!”
