Bob Seger in Concert
With one of the most recognizable voices in rock, Bob Seger has been laying down cool grooves and bluesy anthems since the 1960s. Born in Detroit in 1945 to a relatively absent musician father who worked for Ford, Seger grew up with the perfect cocktail for heartland rock: a mix of music, working-class values, and despair. Becoming entranced by the music of early crooners like Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and James Brown, Seger would start a Detroit-based rock band in ‘61 called The Decibels; after they broke up, he joined The Town Criers, who became popular for their covers of radio-friendly pop tunes. In ‘74, Seger formed The Silver Bullet Band, where he would find immense success. 1976's ‘"Live" Bullet' reached No. 34 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, going Platinum the following year. Later in ‘76, Seger's LP ‘Night Moves' would send atomic waves across the country with charting singles like "Night Moves," "Mainstreet," and "Rock and Roll Never Forgets"; the album eventually went 6x Platinum. With his following album, the explosive and searing ‘Stranger in Town,' he had four charting singles and another 6x Platinum LP.
Over the next 30 years, Seger would rack up the accolades he deserved while continuing to put out great rock albums. Though musicians came and went in his band lineup, Seger remained a stable anchor. 1986 saw a No. 2 charting track with "American Storm," and the following year he found his first No. 1 single in "Shakedown," which he wrote for ‘Beverly Hills Cop II.' In 1987, Seger and The Silver Bullet Band also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Recent years have proved that Seger's here to stay: 2014's ‘Ride Out' was full of twangy, wheeling-and-dealing heartland rock, while 2017's ‘I Knew You When' bore a healthy dose of classic Bob Seger sentimentality.

Bob Seger did a great job. His voice is strong and he has a lot of energy for 74. It was a great performance. Madison Square Garden though needs to turn on ALL their screens especially for the upper deck customers who paid over $130 for last row seats. For that kind of money the Garden NEEDS TO PUT ON THE SCREENS. Come on MSG! Are you kidding!?
Fantastic show! Bob still has the pipes! Played all his great hits! Loved every minute of it! The only thing that was unsatisfactory were my seats. Section 226, row 23...the screens were not on and the lower screens were behind equipment hanging from the ceiling so you couldn't see the concert on the screen. That sucked! Not happy with that at all and the seats were not cheap!!!
I have been a long time fan. I had excellent seats and the VIP parking option made it a breeze!
This was an awesome concert! He sang all of his hits. This is his farewell tour so I'm really sorry that I didn't get to see him perform more often. His opening act was pretty good. All in all the concert was about 3 hours and was just a wonderful experience. He's been doing this for 50 years so deserves to be able to retire from performing. Don't know if New York was his last stop but if it isn't you should definitely try to catch him before the end of this tour.
Great show, great seats, All around fantastic performance!
Bob Seger is an American Icon and he didn't disappoint! His voice was great, his showmanship exceptional, and The Silver Bullet Band was tight and sound.
It was a marvelous adventure and show. They wouldn’t let me dance in the aisle. Security had a “mug of hate” going on the whole show. I was able to hear the concert, but I couldn’t celebrate “Bob Seger”, But that wasn’t Bob Seger fault!
Was fortunate enough to catch them in VA Beach and Madison Square Gardens. I grew up on Bob Seger, but it was awesome he had my friend Anthony Rosano & the Conqueroos on the tour. These days we're all use to seeing stars come from reality television - it was great seeing a band who worked their way up playing local clubs get tapped to tour with a true legend. Awesome time - still the greatest.
We have seen Bob Seger several times... he always gives a great performance! We saw the farewell tour both at Jones Beach and MSG... acoustics much better at MSG... also we didn’t get rained on... always a plus!! We will miss seeing him ... definitely go out of your way to attend
have been a Bob Seger fan since high school (which is forever) & have seen him many times over the years but, this being his farewell tour 😢 made it a must see. it was an amazing concert & i will always remember being there to say farewell to my favorite rocker. see u on Main Street in my heart forever.
It was fabulous. Bob’s voice was just as powerful and amazing as it always is- you’d swear you were hearing him back in the 70’s- unbelievable that time took nothing away from this mans ability to belt them out and sound exactly like he did 40 some odd years ago.
Bob & the band never disappoint. It is a big sing-along & we are going to miss Bob & the Band He is a G.O.A.T 🐏 Greatest of all time 🤩 Wishing Bob & the band all the best for all the pleasure that they have brought with their music. Peace & Love
Great time Seger was great wonderful night It was an easy ride in easy ride out there was no people being rowdy or drunk lots of ashes to show you to your seat it was great
7th time I've seen him on this tour! Brings it every night!!! 2 hours of Rock N Roll!!!!! 16 years old when I saw him the first time in 1974! Spent my life with his music and have absolutely no regrets about all the $$$$ I have parted with doing so......
Bob put on a great show. The crowd was fun the music was loud and the beer was tasty! I would go again in a heartbeat. Well done!
Thought I'd never get to see Bob live as I live in Ireland and read he had stopped touring in 2013. Got great seats and he is as good as he ever was. Great to see many young people singing along to all his songs. Kinda sad if it really was his last live concert
Some people don't know when to leave the stage. Bob Seger is saying goodbye way before he should. A temendous show. Almost everything you'd want to hear from him.
Bob's next to last show did not disappoint. Played the big hits, pulled out some gems and played them all well. He will be missed.
Fantastic show. Brought back tons of childhood memories!
