About

Bob Seger in Concert

With one of the most recognizable voices in rock, Bob Seger has been laying down cool grooves and bluesy anthems since the 1960s. Born in Detroit in 1945 to a relatively absent musician father who worked for Ford, Seger grew up with the perfect cocktail for heartland rock: a mix of music, working-class values, and despair. Becoming entranced by the music of early crooners like Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and James Brown, Seger would start a Detroit-based rock band in ‘61 called The Decibels; after they broke up, he joined The Town Criers, who became popular for their covers of radio-friendly pop tunes. In ‘74, Seger formed The Silver Bullet Band, where he would find immense success. 1976's ‘"Live" Bullet' reached No. 34 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart, going Platinum the following year. Later in ‘76, Seger's LP ‘Night Moves' would send atomic waves across the country with charting singles like "Night Moves," "Mainstreet," and "Rock and Roll Never Forgets"; the album eventually went 6x Platinum. With his following album, the explosive and searing ‘Stranger in Town,' he had four charting singles and another 6x Platinum LP.

Over the next 30 years, Seger would rack up the accolades he deserved while continuing to put out great rock albums. Though musicians came and went in his band lineup, Seger remained a stable anchor. 1986 saw a No. 2 charting track with "American Storm," and the following year he found his first No. 1 single in "Shakedown," which he wrote for ‘Beverly Hills Cop II.' In 1987, Seger and The Silver Bullet Band also got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Recent years have proved that Seger's here to stay: 2014's ‘Ride Out' was full of twangy, wheeling-and-dealing heartland rock, while 2017's ‘I Knew You When' bore a healthy dose of classic Bob Seger sentimentality.

    Wonderful

by Dave on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Bob Seger and the band were excellent. I only wish that ticketmaster or Madison Square Garden provided more information on whether or not there was an opening act. I needed to call back Madison Square Garden twice just to get the information. Anyway, Bob Seger was fantastic!

    Bob Seger at MSG

by P. S. on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Performance was great but the acoustics in the area I was sitting was not very good. I was in the upper section of 227 under the over-hang so I obviously did not have the best seats but even the video screen above us to help us view the stage did not work either.

    The Famous Final Scene..

by T. on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Saw him in Detroit this summer earlier on the Farewell Tour so I knew it would be awesome and Bob and Silver Bullet did not disappoint. Went with a buddy who had never seen Seger and he was blown away. The Garden was rockin'! Bob Seger played at my high school 'sock hop'(!) and this was an amazing bookend to my concert experiences with the guys. A great show as always!

Great Show from a great artist !

by Mike Finnett on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Great show from the great Bob Seger. His music doesn’t get much better than this. If you grew up in the 60’s, and 70’s then you know you grew up with the best music that was ever played. And who could not have grown up in that era without listening to Bob Seger songs emanating through the airwaves. Seger knew how to craft a song like a story book of your soul. Inspirational and emotional, navigating through the highlights and lowlifes of your everyday experiences. Cheers to you Bob Seger - You are ingrained into the soundtrack of my life and spirit. The embodiment of music is so much more richer because of you.

by S. S. on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

It is so sad that Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band not will give a concert any more it has been the biggest happynes and worth every penny for me to take the journey from Norway to see the last two concerts of the final tour 2019. I really hope there will be a another chance to hear his wonderful voice again somewhere. I wish him all the best for the future.

    Amazing Show!

by C. L. on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Incredible performance from a legendary performer. You could tell how happy he was the entire show - giving it 100% at all times. A true professional. Setlist was near perfect, with the addition of “Fire Inside” putting it over the top. Musicians and back-up singers are the best in the industry and really impressed.

Great music great songs great voice great show!

by RSal on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Bob Seger is a rock n roll legend for a reason!! He wrote amazing songs and played kick ass rock n roll for decades. He and the band ( along with some long standing members) crushed it! One complaint - we stood for most of the show. Some rather large and crusty old people behind us did not like it. Like the whiny pains in the arse they are they rattted on us to the usher. We ended up getting our seats moved. Since when do you sit at a rock show? It was totally ridiculous but handled well. Should warn people when buying tickets that people may stand. ‘

Great opening act and Bob Seger and Band Wonderful

by L. S. on 11/2/19Madison Square Garden - New York

Loved the concert music fantastic. We have been going to concerts since the 1960s Fillmore was one of our favotite venues. I have noticed recently how rude and inconsiderate most people are we come to see the group not dancing and screaming to get performer to look at them we pay alot to sit in good seats and could hardly see anything so probably our last time. Even though I wanted to see the Eagles. Alot of over drinking which is sad
