Awesome concert! John was amazing with his vocals and the harmonica. Wish they would have played longer. Loved it!
Its hard to believe that these guys were one of the nations biggest bands 1990-1997. Still sound great. I went to college with the bassist. HAAAAAAAAAAAA
This was definitely a great show and a must see!! Ticket prices were more than reasonable. The Wildhorse Saloon is a great venue. Blues Travelers are still seriously ROCKIN' IT!!
Blues Traveler at the Wild Horse last night --- OMG they were rockin'!!! From their old hits Run-Around to Charlie Daniel's Devil Went Down to Georgia -- they were incredible! They can jam like no other!
Popper and the band sounded awesome. Seats were great and the setting was very comfortable. The whole band really played to the crowd. My wife, who never really listened to them before walked away a fan. We had a great time. I really wish I'd brought my video camera because all recording devices were actually allowed (video, audio, flash cameras).
I have always wanted to catch the Blues Traveler 4th of July show at Red Rocks and finally decided to do just that. I am certainly glad I decided to do so because I had a blast and especially enjoyed seeing "Popper" live rippin' it up on the harmonica as well as the guy scratchin records.
this show was awesome! the venue is outdoors and the weather was great, the people were great and the show was amazing! i would definately see them again if they return to saranac!
Loved the energy the band puts out. The harmonica is fantastic!!
Excellent show. Great selection of songs and covers. Cheap Trick cover "I Want you to Want Me" was excellent - right into "Hook" and a finale of "Devil Went Down to Georgia" - Southaven style. Kudos to the band...well done!
Blues Traveler was incredible! They played a very strong set and they even let a kid from the opening act come on a play a song with them. VERY cool! Highly recommended!
Concert was good, but $35.00 tshirt I bought had a date from July 4th on the back and from a different city, what was with that?? if they were LEFTOVER shirts they should have reduced the price?? who else feels the same?? Also, playing a Cheap Trick song as the ending was kinda odd, they had so many of there older music that they could have ended with. The casino did a great job on hosting the concert, you get an A+ for this.
There isn't much to say - if you have seen them then you know that there is never a dull or bad moment, from the time the lights dim and Jon gets on stage it's clapping, yelling and dancing, every show I have seen of there is just awesome. I can't wait till the next one.
Blues Traveler is always a great band to see anytime anywhere> But I live on the far East side of King County And I am so sick having to drive to seattle for good entertainment. Parking is a nightmare and very expensive Casino Snoqualmie is great with good places eat too.
Johns voice is sounding a great as ever. I love the big fan that the ever-pudgified Chan uses to let his hair fly in the breeze...too cool! The new material is great. I am a fan of BT and BT 2.0 albums self-->NHS. Yet setlists have declined significantly in variety and spontaniety for years. This was the worst yet. I have come to terms with BT becoming more and more of a nostalgia act who pushes their most recent album for sales and that there will be the ever present RUNs, Butheads and Hooks. Fine, I twirl my finger and scream like a little girl with the rest of 'em when they come around on the guitar. (Well, the girls aren't so little anymore!) But why not a single song from 1)T&T 2) SOTM 3) TBT and from the others we get the overplayed SLOW CHANGE, Save his SouL, gIRL INSIDE MY HEAD, and they should have never produced "Borrowed time." It just makes me cringe and think "are you guys really such pussies now?" I can dig a good ballad -->play Sweet Pain, play Look Around, play Just wiait, play Regarding Steven, Don't ever play Imagine again. Please come back BT and give the world what we deserve and you do best, jam and finish your setwith a sick JBG or Motherfunker (which should be longer that 85 minutes for 50$ a pop) . Why encore "I want you to want me" ?? That was never a good idea anyway. BT, I lament the loss of your trademark live performance creativity, especially since you still still got the goods and interesting new material to funk around on. COME BACK, we miss you!
These guys rocked the house! They played a mixture of classic hits from "Four" as well some new songs. They still sound great and really put on a show. John Popper took time to acknowledge the local crowd and they even took time to sign a few autographs during & after the show. The venue (Ballroom @ Snoqualmie Casino) was intimate and the acoustics were great (a problem in past venues).
I love the music of Blues Traveler, but this concert was wrought with problems from the beginning. Opening for Blues Traveler was a country-hip hop band named Colt Ford. The promoters must have been high to think that this group's music would get the audience in the mood for the main event. Instead, there were two distinctly different groups in the audience. As if the opener wasn't painful enough, John Popper, Blues Traveler's front man, kept turning his back to the audience in the middle of sets TO TAKE A SMOKE BREAK!. That's right! He didn't even have the courtesy to break the set and go behind the stage to have a cigarette. Instead, the band would shift into these awkward instrumental jams while Popper, in plain view of the audience, would simply turn his back on the fans and smoke a cigarette. Is that any way to treat your fan base? HOW RUDE!!!
Very talented group of musicians that just rock the house down. Fun to watch, listen and dance to! Great concert.
As always, Blues Traveler put on a great show. The band was tight and got the crowd into it despite the nearly unbearable heat. The best surprise, though, was the opening act - a group of teens called Young Guns, a local band from Memphis. They completely blew away the sparse early crowd. Their young guitarist apparently caught the eye of the BT members too. They brought him back on stage during their set for a jam. An altogether great time!
I couldn't believe it when I heard BT was coming to Snowden! How awesome is that. This show as as good any BT show I've seen (even 4th of July at Red Rocks). Got all the way up to the stage. Caught a C harp. How cool is that. These guys have been awesome for so long. They continue to rock - especially live.
Blues Traveler puts on a great show as always. They're a fun group of guys that produce some awesome music. A lot of interaction between the and the crowd. Surprisingly good cover of Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me". The venue - Utica's Saranac Brewery - was pretty good. The ticket price was reasonable. Parking was on the street for the most part but not a bad walk if you get there early. There was plenty of food available at reasonable prices. Two things that I wasn't keen on - 1) no seating and you stand on blacktop which is hard on your feet and legs and 2) seems like everywhere we stood there was somebody near our group that was smoking.
