  • The Amazing John Popper

    by LITT886 on 4/24/10Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Since my 15 year-old son is a wonderful musician, I have tried to expose him to several types of music. On April 23, we saw Blues Traveler with thier amazing frontman, John Popper. The show was at Fort Lauderdale's intimate venue, The Culture Room. The music legend and harmonica vituoso took the stage without introduction and seemed larger than life. It was clear that the band loved performing together and thier festival-like personalities made the evening enjoyable. They were very responsive to the fans oftten throwing out harmonicas, drumsticks, set lists, picks and other memorabilia. John even sang happy birthday to a young lady in the crowd. Despite the couple of drunks that were escorted out by security and the strong herbal aroma, it was a wonderful moment with some great crowd pleasing musicians.

  • Standard A$$ kicking from BT

by yermom2000 on 4/19/10House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

House of Blues is overpriced and the security sucks. But BT put on a great show as usual. It was nice to hear some old stuff worked out really tight: Dropping NYC and Have My Moments. Nothing completely wowed me, but I've seen BT too much to be floored at every show. Both opening bands were good, but another jeers to HOB for not figuring out that the sax player's mic wasn't plugged in for the entire set (a problem remedied half way through their last song).

Really good show. Mr. Popper played longer than I had expected, very entertaining!

  • Overall good time

by Cipriani on 4/16/10House of Blues Chicago - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

It was a good time. Blues Traveler played with some good bands and really put on a good show. There was a 20 minute presentation about diabetes awareness which was good but a little too late in the show, at that point the majority of people were pretty drunk and incapable of an attention span.

This was the first time I saw Blues Traveler live and they were a blast to watch and amazing to hear. The opening acts, Train Connection and 28 North, were also fantastic.

  • Blues Traveler was forgettable

Not a fun show--really low energy. Even their most popular songs were not that great. I would not go see them again.

  • Blues Traveler Great Show

by hgpitt on 11/6/09Chameleon Club - LancasterRating: 4 out of 5

They are still a lot of fun to see! If you haven't seen them, make sure you take advantage of the opportunity. They are still rocking!

  • Bottom heavy sound reinforcement

by Tott on 11/6/09Chameleon Club - LancasterRating: 2 out of 5

I think... I repeat "think" that the harmonica playing was great. I couldn't hear it because of the super loud bass guitar and bass drum. I would have much preferred to hear the lead instruments (harmonica, vocals, keyboard). I blame the sound engineer.

  • Blues Traveler Rocked the House!

by dillhole on 11/6/09Chameleon Club - LancasterRating: 5 out of 5

Played long and hard. Missed Love and Greed, but not complaining. Better than Pittsburgh 1994!

  • Awesome Show

Popper's still the man....enough said. Great show as always.

  • Blues Traveler

Took my wife to see BT last night at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA. Her first time to see these guys, and my first time since NYE at MSG 1996. Was pleasantly surprised that they had not turned their amps up to 11. Played a lot of the old favorites, but one thing about this band, nothing is off limits. Heard renditions of the Devil went down to Georgia, and some Cheap Trick as well. Great band, lots of fun!!

It was a great show!! Would recommend it anytime. The venue helped to make the show even better. I saw them about 15 years ago and it was great then and even better now!

  • Excellent

The show was excellent as always! Culture Room is a great place to see them. Blues Traveler always puts on an awesome show!! Always!

  • Blues Traveler Rocks Again!!!

    by MaggieA58 on 10/29/09Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I see them every time they come into town and they have yet to have a show at the Culture Room where they didn't just rock the entire night. They played old and new hits for over two hours straight - it was AWESOME!!!!

  • They started very late, but kicked it out..

by DaveDave on 10/29/09Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

Info stated doors open at 8. They didn't come on until 10:15. That's getting a little late for a Tuesday night. They had a local band which was kind of a snoozer. By the time they finally came on, they opened solid. I hung around for about 45 minutes and enjoyed the show. I wish they had started at a reasonable time, because some of us have to work - and I was done after standing around for 2 hours.. If they weren't going to start at 8 or even 9, they could have advised on the Ticketmaster site.

  • Great Show; Smokey Venue

    by Lex13 on 10/29/09Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

The show was fantastic but I'm fairly certain we wouldn't have been able to pass a drug screen the next day with everyone there lighting up.

  • BT at the Culture Room

    by DTM714 on 10/28/09Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 4 out of 5

I am a huge BT fan. I always make it a point to see their shows when they come to town. Lately, it's been twice a year in Fort Lauderdale!!! I was a little disappointed to see them add 3 cover songs into the show when they have so many better songs of their own. The songs were, Devil Went Down To Georgia (CDB), Love Is What I Got (Sublime), and I Want You To Want Me (Cheap Trick). I would have rather here them play any of these BT songs: Crash Burn, Canadian Rose, Mountains Win Again, Mountain Cry, Gina, Droppin' Some NTC, Crystal Flame, Stand, All in the Groove.

  • What a band!

by nilabg on 10/28/09Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Blues Traveler is a GREAT jam band! It is impossible NOT to feel the energy they put out! From the first notes they play, whether you are a huge fan or not, your body will move to the funky beat! The bassist knows his stuff! They play long versions of the song, individually taking a smoking moment here and there. The crowd around you is having fun, the band is having fun, and you will too!
